Pud holds his hands on the sides of the bronze frog statue. It takes a minute, but its purpose becomes fully clear to him:
The mouth indeed leads to an extradimensional space; it is an arcane container. To grab hold of something and pull it from the statue’s mouth, one must say the name of what they desire. If the desired thing is in the extradimensional space, it materializes in your hand.
Pud's eyes snap open wide and he pulls away from the statue.
"Whoa...this thing is pretty cool. That big mouth is a sorta pocket dimension where you can store stuff. I've seen these before. Heck, I even tried to make one before. That didn't turn out as planned...don't ask.
Anyway, if you wanna retrieve stuff from it, you gotta say the name of what you're looking for. If it's in there the thing appears."
His eyes, wide with excitement, dart back and forth looking at his friends.
"Who wants to try first?"

Matilda looked at Pud then at Titaani before taking a deep breath and walking up to the frog, kneeling in front of it she placed her hand in the mouth, took another deep shuddering breath, " Wirrun."
Matilda reaches in. Her limb disappears into the darkness. It feels as though her fingers are pushing through cool mud with eels swimming through it.
She grabs hold of a smooth, cool sphere, slightly larger than her fist. Pulling it out of the frog's mouth, she finds it is marked "N" and "S" on opposite sides, with dull prongs at the top and bottom. Within it, frozen in place, is a tiny humanoid. It's a boy who looks a lot like Matilda – her brother, Wirrun – a look of fear frozen upon his face.
”is he trapped or transformed like the masks at Creeping Lyn’s place? Maybe there is a device around that can return him to normal,” suggests Ben hopefully.
”Pud, can you get it to send out everything it stored, one by one, so we can see what is in it?” he asks.

Pud takes the orb and holds it by the prongs. It begins to slowly spin on its own accord, but does not settle on one orientation. It occurs to Pud that there is no "north" and "south" in the Fey – those are directions from another world, not here.

Titaani gives Matilda a heartfelt hug. "We'll get him out. I promise!"
After Matilda hands Wirrun to Pud, Titaani peaks over his shoulder, trying to see if she has any idea what this magical prison is and how to release Matilda's brother from it. Arcana: 21
Titaani realizes she has no idea how Wirrun might be released from this orb. As Pud watches, he swears the boy moves ever so slightly, as if he is watching back.
"I wish to try," says Ben, pleased now that it seems to be somewhat safe. He reaches in and says all he can think to say, "Produce that which was taken from me at the Witchlight Carnival." Worried he was too vague, concerned that it may not be stored inside, Ben holds his hand through the darkness and hopes for the best.

"Pud, you're really smart. Can you figure this one out?" Titaani asks, pointing to the orb. Not the sharpest tool in the shed, the little gnome attributes all of the times Pud casts identify to be his inate magical knowledge. "I mean, you figured out the frog."
"Matilda, did you see that? I think he moved!" Pud brings the orb up close to his eye and taps on it very gently "Hey there, little buddy! Can you hear me? We're gonna get you outta there. Don't you worry."
Pud squints his eyes and focuses his magical powers on the orb and casts identify on it.

Everytime the orb is moved, turned or touch Matilda looks terrified and she almost snatches it back when the spellcasting starts but instead she grabs Titaanis hand tight and holds on for dear life.
Titaani squeezes Matilda's hand back. "He'll be ok," she says, giving her sister her best reassuring smile. Over Matilda's shoulder, she spots Ben poking his hand into the frog. "Oh! Did you get anything, Ben? I hope your thing isn't trapped in a bubble as well."
Ben reaches into the gaping maw of the bronze frog statue, demanding "that which was taken from me at the Witchlight Carnival..." He feels the thick slithering muddy sensation that Matilda experienced. He pulls out a silver key; a question mark is worked into the head. He has never seen such a key before.
Meanwhile, Pud tries to determine the nature of Wirrun's orb. It is indeed an orb of direction, but it is also an arcane prison. He senses that Wirrun will be released upon ordinary use of the orb, but the implications of this (or the exact trigger that will open it) are unclear.
Looking at the key, Ben says, “I am relieved that at least I got something, though I don’t know what to do with it. Perhaps this key opens up that dollhouse we found—or something else.”
Turning to Pud, he asks, “Do you think we could request a manifest from the magical storage device, or some other thing that might tell us what is inside? There may be hundreds of trapped people inside, and I would feel terrible leaving them behind.”

"A key? Can I see it?" Titaani asks, holding out her free hand to Ben. "Maybe I can figure out what it is?"
If Ben gives her the key, Titaani will try and draw on what she knows of fey magic to figure out if there is some kind of arcane background to the key. Arcana: 18

" Well....I was thinking first we catch a live one....there's got to be a dozen or so around here somewhere from what we saw last time."
" Oh! Yeah, use magic!"

"I...I don't think I can do that. You need to say the name of whatever you wish to retrieve."
Pud hobbles over and looks over this orb, the inscriptions and the odd prongs.
"N...S...you think it's like a compass? Matilda, can I hold it? I promise I'll be gentle. Those prongs are....interesting."
IF she hands it over to Pud, he'll hold it by the prongs and then turn in circles to see if the orb orients itself to the cardinal directions.
