“I’m willing to go back in there, if you all want. I can try and talk to them and if they attack right away, I will retreat immediately, which is what they seemed to want anyway. Everyone can step aside, out of view, and just listen in.”
Vinny grabs his rope and ties an end around himself and offers the other end to whomever is willing (Veil, Perner and all of the strongest looking in the party)
”If things go poorly, pull me out of there and slam the door.”
Unless stopped, Vinny will wait til everyone has moved to either side of the door, and he will open the door and announce his presence.
”Apologies for our rashness. Can you please direct us to your master? We are trying to get home.”
"Seems like a thing we should have done to begin with." Veil says, not against this, but less-than-sure it will do any good. "Seems likely they are just going to see it as an attack at this point, but feel free to give it a try." She moves off to the side of the doorway, and readies a fire bolt in case this gets out of hand.

The group take their positions away from the door as Vinny approaches it.
He reaches out slowly, but decisively to the handle.
The tension is visible in his posture and muscles as his legs and back coil, ready to spring away at the least provocation.
With a smooth motion coordinated with his core, Vinny opens the door, maintaining the coiled-spring of readiness.
As the door opens, the room looks the same as before - but with one large change - where are the spiders?
Their absence from Vinny's line of sight causes him instinctively to scan the room - when he sees where they have gone
They are on the ceiling. Two near the door, the other farther away. From these three points come suddenly a writhing mass of webs at him as Vinny attempts to twist and evade them.
Spider A (critically injured)- Web attack: 6
Spider B - Web attack: 12
Spider C (lightly wounded) Web attack: 12
If any hit, Vinny is restrained. Regardless, a new thicker wall of web obscures the entry way.
“Gah!” Vinny shouts as he springs away from the threshold. Now faced with thrice thickened webs obscuring the doorway, he turns to his companions.
”Seems they’re not the talkative or forgiving type. Unless you all want to force the issue, maybe by lighting up these webs, we should just close the door and move on.”
"What can we find you for food, that is not us?" Veil calls back. She waves to the form on the ground, hoping someone on her side of the door can go and check the figure out as Veil continues to speak with the spider-people. "We don't want to fight you, if we don't have to, and would be willing to try to locate you some food, if that is what you need..."
(Clarification please. Was the beautiful woman the source of the rasping female voice? Is the beautiful woman alive or just a drained husk that is partially cocooned?)
"sorry, cannot come closer." Veil calls out. "I am standing just outside the door, just to the side, and the webs, you shot, currently block me from moving any closer, as they block the door." She glances to the woman, still waiting for one of her companions to check her out. "I also can hear you just fine from here... I fear that, if I came too much closer, you might decide to try to attack me, then I'd have to defend myself again, and that would just make things bad for us all once again."
Vinny will begin extracting the woman from her spider silk bonds, only exerting enough force to break the strands and easing up to not inflict more damage on her.
”Perner, can you help her?” He asks.
Remembering that Perner earlier said he was running low on spells, and not waiting, he reaches into his clinking sack and produces a Potion of Healing. If the woman seems capable to drink it on her own, he will offer it. If she is too weak, he will unstopper the bottle, cradle the back of her head and attempt to pour the fluid slowly into her mouth.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Perner forstalls the use of the potion and instead rests a hand on the lady's arm, "Rest, And Recuperate" he orders, as she heals for 10 health
He breathes heavily as he steps back "running out, not out yet, I've got one more, and something strong, then it's just tricks and sunbursts"
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?

Vinny grins at her recovery. He returns the potion to his sack and then unties the rope that had been tied around his waist. He coils it and replaces it into his sack, as well.
"Ok, I'd say that was a definite hostile response." Veil says with a nod. "Do we chance resting here, or do we attempt to look into one of these other chambers to see if either of them has safer harbor for us?" She eyes the other two doors. "My opinion is that, for those who do need a rest now, we simply stay put here and take a short rest. Those spiders we saw earlier will make it hard for us to take a long rest here though I fear..." Veil is looking just fine at this point, she has restrained herself in the use of spells, and has taken no damage.
(Did the room with the spider-men have any other exits, that we would have noticed? I am wondering if we won't have to clear them out if we want a long-rest place...)
((you noticed no other exits out of the room with webs))
As the party, some clearly exhausted, continue to discuss the wisdom of resting, they begin to notice what appears like an almost orange haze at the borders of the room.
The ticking has also become somewhat muffled.
The haze continues to build up - then an odd break in the norm, instead of the tick tock that has become part of the background, the party hears a gravely male voice "Resssst in Peace. A safe rest you have earned..."
The amber haze has almost solidified into a fog encasing the party - but it stops just shy of them - creating a sort of orange fog border. Also, the tick - tock cannot be heard - nothing at all can be heard in the castle... only the voices of the adventurers talking among themselves... or snoring....

"One thing first..." Veil says. "Hey you in there, we only want to talk..." She calls out, seeing if there is any reaction to her words.
A rasping female voice hisses from beyond the webs "Hungry ..."
The oddest thing happens... from the webbing above a form tumbles, as if it had broken free.
There lying on the ground before the door is a beautiful woman with dusky brown skin, brown hair and brown eyes, wrapped in spider silk.

You presume the voice was in response to Veil's inquiry. You can see that the woman on the ground is alive, but weak.
In response to Veil's further questions another rasping voice, this time male, says "Come closer blood bag, we will tell you".
