Bran nods at Vinny "The middle door it is, then".  Bran pushes open the door and gestures for Vinny to pass by "After you".  As Bran follows Vinny into the room, he responds to Perner "No worries, friend.  Pain and I are old friends." 

Bran looks around to determine the layout of the room and identify any threats. Perception: 6.

Bran opens the door to see what is behind the middle door (door #2). Vinny and Bran enter.

This room appears to have once been the quarters for servants. The room is now completely filled with a mass of giant spider webs.

Three giant spiders sit in the webs.

The spiders are the size of a pony and have greenish-brown, coarse, hairy bodies. Their abdomens have a bulbous protrusion and their front two appendages end in humanoid-like hands complete with digits for fine manipulation. Viscid posion drips from their black mandibles.

Initiative (Rolled in Encounter Builder)

Zera: 22

Perner: 16

Amotal: 14

Veil: 14

Bran: 13

Vinny: 11

3 giant spiders: 11

Order: Zera -> Perner -> Amotal -> Veil -> Bran -> Vinny -> Spiders

Vinny will take a defensive position (Ready an attack should the spiders attack)

”Very little is as it seems here. Even the swarms didn’t engage. Perhaps these are substitutes for hand maidens?”

Vinny has a noticeable expression of confusion on his face.

"Use fire then retreat"

3.  Zera shoots the closest spider with Eldrich blast, and then backs away..

Perner would have a torch out for light so.

With a widening grin perner walks to the edge of the webbing, and ignites it with his torch.

If that's an action then that's it.

If thats a bonus action or an interact with an object action then Perner will prepare inflict wounds for if a spider enters his reach.

((Is anyone pulling Vinny and Bran out of the way before setting the room on fire?))

Ahhhhhh, I forgot that they walked in. In that case Perner will prapare to light it when they exit and tell for them to get out

Vinny will retreat, yet still position himself as a meat-shield for the party.

”Why’d we assume they were hostile? Has everyone forgotten the livery ghouls?”

(Not that he has any of the social skills to prevent what comes.)

Bran will also scramble back out of the room “True, there is no guarantee they are our enemy” he responds to Vinny, but keeps a wary eye on the spiders.  “There is more to this castle than it seems.  I should like to find our hosts and find out what is going on.”

(Perner still lights it) "if we had this easy o a time killin th ghouls i'killed em too, nasty abominations"

Perner holds his action until Vinny and Bran have backed out of the room. Then, taking his lit torch he sets fire to the webbing nearest the door. The webs catch fire quickly filling the five feet just inside the door with a wall of heat.

The spiders hiss and recoil from the flames, drawing instinctively toward the back of the room, away from the door - and the fire.

There is a hiss-clicking between them.

One spider waves its odd fore-arms and suddenly a blast of cold bursts forth and quenches the fire.

Once the fire is subsided another of the creatures scuttles forward a bit and billows a yellowish cloud toward Perner, closest to the door.

(Perner make a Con save or take 10 poison damage)

This one scuttles back allowing the third to scuttle forward. This last makes a dancing pattern with her hands. A 42 wave of sleep washes over the party starting from a point on the western wall opposite the open door.

((Zera - do you have resistance to being charmed from Fey Ancestry? If not, you slump to the floor unconscious, if so, then Perner falls asleep))

Well this is why i have poison resist. So i only take three poison damage (will write in damage after confirmation of failure)

Veil sends a trio of magical darts flashing into the first of the spiders. (The one closest to the door...)

Out of the gate, Zera successfully hit the first spider wiht her Eldritch blast.

Amotal held his action waiting for a spider to come into the hall.

Top of order again: Zera asleep unless she has immunity to being charmed by Fey Ancestry otherwise Perner is asleep Which ever isn't asleep should go
