as the group gets going, he casts mage armor and false life (4th level) on himself, and ritual casts telepathic bond and water breathing on the group, as per usual. 

"Gafna, thank you for the rooms. The beds were most comfortable." Oli says as they depart down towards the Deep Canal.

Oli silently scouts 20 to 30 feet ahead of the group looking for traps and secret doors and hoping to find whatever is causing the disappearances before it finds the group, stopping at intersections to take directions from T on which tunnel to follow. He does rely on the light others are carrying or using to see and stays in the dim light range, but using his Skulker feat, dim light does not impose disadvantage on perception checks relying on sight for him.

The passageways are made of stone, wirh arched walls that continue overhead to the far side if the path, uninterrupted. Forming a ceiling as well.  At the bottom, the stone floors are gently sloped downward ti the center, where a stream kf water flows by.  Though the city never sees rain by day, Thayan maguc allows fir nightly rains, and the runoff water from the streets above runs through this section of tunnel.  By no krans, pleasant, it clearly coyod be worse.  Though the floor is Stine and nit a circular tune kr totally flooded (at least not in this section) the floor is still uneven and sand washed in from sbive covers the stone floor at a depth kf about an inch except where the water flows through the center of the tunnel.

You note the intermittent presence of odd clusters of round tracks. These tracks, you surmise, are intermittent because whatever left them routinely climbs the walls and ceilings as it hunts, rather than sticking to the passageways themselves.

Randy mutters with his breath held in from the disgusting scent as his armour once again Glows vibrant orange whilst he stays in the middle of the pack. He doesn't even take the moment to compliment Tetrevess's neatly shave beard as he just sulks with the others whilst they navigate throught the depths of the sewers.

"I'm not gonna answer that." Randy bluntly replies, still clearly fed up of what happened yesterday. Then again, not that he'd have the answers in the first place...

After tracking for about an hour, yiu notice somwthing in the ceiling  as you come around a bend in the tunnel.  Surrounded by humanoid remains, you have followed a carrion crawler to its nest.  An ambush predator, it awaits unsuspecting passersby, of which there must have been quite some number. If only judging by the remains littering tbe area.

"I don't know. Usually when I come across a sewage system I can only think of hideous monsters preying on who-knows what. Either that or it's the hideous stench that's poisoning me..." Oli takes out his hand crossbow and uses the dodge action so he doesn't become the newest addition to the pile of corpses. "Do you think this is the only one down here, or is it likely there are more?" Oli asks the group not knowing what he is looking at.

As noted, its a carrion crawler. Arcana reveals it is not magical in any way.  I'm assuming Oerth also has these guys, so consider it recognized.
