Malenia - [Monk - Way of the Jedi] - Auryn: Princess of Destiny
Stasolya stands up straighter hearing the voice. "How noble is the heart of the Princess, who would sacrifice herself for her subjects, even for those who would not do the same for her." But she looks indescribably sad, and takes the bagpipes under her arm again to play a poignant tune. She gets as close as she can to the caravan as she plays, staying behind the pushing crowds and the guards holding them back. If only there was something more I could do. I turned the fish men away, but my power is very small. I will do as the Princess wishes.

Cinder stands and watches, making no move to act further. If this princess wanted to sacrifice herself to this creature, Cinder wasn't about to stop her. She still keeps an eye one the fish people however. If they made a move towards the people, that was a different matter entirely.
The woman advancing on the beast, presumably Princess Andromeda, raised her arms and called something out. The two following her, also to be presumed to be the King and Queen, began to hang back. The King grabbed his wife as Andromeda stopped, waiting, shouting into the storm while her mother, the Queen, hit her knees and screamed. A tentacle like a tree trunk reached out, wrapping around the body of the Princess...and then, within an instant, the creature turned back to the sea, taking her with it.
The fish creatures slowly began to turn, heading toward the beach, leaving the somber city behind, and the screams of the wailing Queen.
Overhead, the storm began to break as the monster and its captive slipped below the waves, followed by its cohort of piscine horrors.
Staying off the street and keeping low, Malenia hops from rooftop to rooftop while being sure to avoid any that appear structurally comprimised. With the creature and its minions leaving the city she felt more comfortable on her own. Moving to where the Pegasus had went down but still weary of any fish creatures that may still be lingering. Once she gets the Pegasus in sight, First thing she would do is try to spot the rider and determine if they are still alive.

She drops to a ledge and slowly makes her way down to where the Rider has been pinned under his steed, realizing immediately that she can not hope to move the corpse off of him she instead does what she can to keep the rider breathing and on this side of the soil. "Blast" Is all she mutters under her breath. (Medicine check 20 in game log)

Malenia - [Monk - Way of the Jedi] - Auryn: Princess of Destiny
Stasolya plays like a funeral dirge, the bagpipes sharing the wailing of the bereaved Queen. Tears stream down her face as she plays, even as the rain lightens and the clouds disperse. As she finishes her tune, she looks up to watch the sun breaking through the storm clouds, and she feels the tears on her face dry in the wind. Despite the tragedy of what has happened, she can see it, and feels a ray of hope blossom within her. This act of sacrifice has preserved the order of the world in a way that the forces of chaos cannot understand. But the battle is not over. There is so much more work to do.
Stasolya pats the old goat and, strapping it around on her back again, trots back through the floodwaters that are draining back towards the sea, looking to see who needs help. She doesn't see where the Pegasus went down, nor where Malenia went. The weight of grief is heavier on the citizens now, than the threat of death or drowning is.
Pag is sad to see the Princess taken away and the grief of her parents, but also reflects on the multiple times he has heard stories from his sailors of how their families have suffered. The loss of a child is devastating, regardless of the wealth or stature of the parents. He see Malenia move off towards the Pegasus and heads in that direction to assist her.
Stasolya, seeing the others heading off in a certain direction who had been helping the refugees, accompanies them, in hopes that there is some help she can give.
Malenia lets out a huff, wiping the hair from her face as she stabilizes the rider, ensuring he wont be knocking on deaths door at least for this moment. Looking in the direction she had come from, she thinks of the Drow she had encoutnered and sends a Message. "I found the rider, he's in bad shape and I could use a hand getting his steed off of him." She then sends another, This time no words come instead there is a feeling of where to go and what to look for.
She Also sends the same pair of messages to the Centaur she had encountered, Willing to admit that despite the Centaur's foolish stance nearly causing a battle with civilians present, Their size could prove to be handy in this situation.
Cinder follows the others she had fought with before. She wasn't sure how much help she would be in a situation like this, but she would certainly try. She looked back in the direction of the princess and shook her head. Cinder didn't really care for royalty. Or nobility. Or any form of leadership really. But the princess had earned points with her.
The young man coughs as Malenia works on him, and his tunic falls open, revealing an AURYN Medallion to her. He groans, huffs, and tries to move, and when he realizes that he's pinned beneath his Pegasus, he opens his eyes and looks around. He's clearly in a confused state as other gather round, and reaches down to pet his mount.
"Where am I?" He says, his fingers rubbing through the horsehair coat. "Artax? Artax! What happened?"
Clop clop splash clop splash splash cloppity clopsplash. Out of the scattering clouds and waning storm to the fallen rider a figure rides up, like a horse but with a huge misshapen head sprouting a hideous trifecta of straight horns that wobble garishly.
On closer inspection it's a centaur with some bagpipes strapped to her back. She sees Malenia there tending the rider, and smiles with relief. "Here, I've got some rope, I can---"
Her gaze falls on the AURYN medallion falling visible from the man's tunic, and her eyes widen. She drops to the ground, tucking her hooves quickly out of the way to lean closer to the confused rider. "Dear friend of the Empress, I greet you with sorrow. We are in Argos, and the forces of chaos have taken Princess Andromeda. We were not able to stop them..."
Pag arrives at the scene of the fallen Pegasus and warrior. He leans down and whispers a prayer to the Pegasus:
"Boundless in your strength, wise, loving, and intelligent
Glorious and incomparable Lord of Horses, to you I pray.
On the wind that brings all joys and sorrows, may you swiftly come back to us."
And then Pag plucks one feather, touches it gently to his forehead, and places it gingerly in his pack. He removes his waterskin, pours some on his fingertips, and flicks a drop in each of the four directions before taking a small sip. He then offers the waterskin to the fallen warrior with the words, "In honor of your companion's sacrifice. It was their fate to pass on at this time."
Malenia will help whoever is attempting to free the rider, Her relatively thin frame more suited to feats of acrobatics rather than strength. "You're in Argos, You were struck down by whatever wass assaulting the coastline." Blunt and to the point, not one for fancy words or over-explanation. Especially in this circumstance. "You're steed wasnt as lucky as you."
Once the rider is free, Malenia deftly falls to the back of the group. Flipping the hood of her cloak up to conceal a tinge of black-ish purple veins creeping up her neck. "What was the creature that attacked the city?" She directly ask's of the Rider, trying to get an idea of what beast would have the power to siege a city the likes of Argos.
The body of the Pegasus slides off of the rider and comes to rest at his feet as he is pulled free of the wreckage of his attempt at heroism. He still looks dazed, perhaps in shock, by the events that have unfolded, and by the group gathering around him. The young man reaches up, rubbing a hand down his face like he's trying to regain his senses.
"Argos." He says and nods. "Argos. Yes, I came to Argos. The creature...Kygrax the Kraken. The Princess..."
He rubs his face, cramming the heel of one hand into his eye as though pushing away the fog of sleep. Slowly, his hand reaches down, taking the AURYN Medallion in his hand. He pulls it up and off his head and hands it to Stasolya.
"I came...for heroes." He says, dropping his hand. "And I knew that Andromeda would draw them...for better or worse."
Stasolya takes the AURYN medallion from the rider, staring at it in awe. In their devotion to the Childlike Empress, her people have long collected and told tales about the AURYN, but she had never seen one before the medallion fell out of the rider's tunic. Now, she holds the medallion, like a treasured relic, in her hand. "Hyboria will have heroes," she whispers. "Princess Andromeda's sacrifice will not be in vain."
Reverently, she drapes the chain of the medallion over her head. The AURYN shimmers against her chest against the rough leathers and flowing plaid cloak draped over her shoulder. Tilting her head back to the clearing skies, eyes full of tears again, the centaur breaks out into song.
"Wish bearer, wish granter, Hope of all the world. All who love you rise to answer Banners 'ere unfurled.
The Princess stood alone and tall To face the stormy sea. Behind her Argos in the squall, She went for you, she went for me...
Drenched we could not stop their hand The Princess' voice calls clear and mourns To seek her over all the land Will be our quest as hope adorns."
