[They're probably still hauling the stolen goods, so they wanted the wagon to make it easier. They might have scattered when they saw the stranger coming. I wouldn't think a loaded wagon would be difficult to track, but Ruhm takes a somewhat lackadaisical attitude towards his work lol.]
[I don't think this info changes our plans at all. We're just marching along until we can see the mess. Then we'll try to find out where the gang has gone from there.]
You make your way around a bend where you can now see the piled up supplies. You see Ruhm making piles of weapons and armor bits from the dead gang. On his back you see strapped a 1/4 barrel sized keg. He turns to see you all coming along and gives a big thumbs up and the he runs up to Sorsha to report.
” thems Bugbear gangs was already gone once I made it back to here, Ruhm can keep up with horse wagons..look what me found” he turns slightly and points tot he keg with his thumb.
” a little bulky, but it will do…now just needs the rum to fill it”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sorsha chuckles as she sees Ruhm's new keg. "I was sort of hoping you would track down and spy on the Bugbear gang Ruhm. Well, help me look around this place instead then." She says and joins Vars and Sparhawk in searching the piled up supplies for anything interesting or valuable.
Investigation: 10 Another roll if Ruhm can help out: 7
"Vars, use your tracking skills to see if we can follow them back to their hideout."She says to the ranger as she looks around.

"I was getting there," Vars grumbles. "But don't you want to see if we can pick up anything useful here first?"
After he finishes searching (whether or not he finds anything), he will once again turn to the tracks.
(Lol, in my shortsightedness I put my lowest stat in wisdom, not thinking about survival. So...thats why he's got sucky perception and survival but really good investigation. I guess I'll just say its because he was a pirate before he was a ranger lol...)
Vars looks around, trying to discern if the party that launched this attack had left in a group or if they had scattered.
Perception: 16
Investigation: 9
He also would like to check the loot for anything that might be useful.
You find a few hanks of cured ham, among the food supplies, there are 3 rolls of wool cloth as well tat could sold in town or converted into cold weather clothing by a tailor
Sparhawk also looks for any supplies/ weapons/ armor that could help the group: Investigation: 9
You find most the weapons and armor bits to be of average make and condition. Useful as back ups or as trade or sale items. Nothing particularly stands out

There are 3 loops of rope, approximately 50’ each, a wagon repair tool kit( carpenters tools) and a wheel of cheese
Bjorn keeps a few paces back from the pile, surveying the surroundings for a possible ambush. He summons the bow and keeps it at the ready.
Perception: 12 or, if it's at disadvantage for being in shadow, then here's another roll 8
Bjorns survey of the area reveals a spot where heavy items were dragged through the grass on the river side of the road, and a quick look at the piled, broken bodies of the unknown gang and the original victims/ owner of the wagon.

Vars easily picks up the trail by following the depressions in the grass to where the wagon had sat, he can tell the tremendous weight was loaded by how much deeper the wheels sunk into the road as it moved on from this site. He calculates that Bernards gang has at least a half an hour lead, but the wagon seems to be well loaded down, so maybe won’t be capable of holding a fast pace for very long.
Ruhm will say to Sorsha, “ hey boss, wants me to travel as a Peli Can to put somes eyes on they wagon? “ he points to his little bag O’ collectibles on his side
” if theys turn off I can leave a marker showing the way, since will be too far to mind talk…when you get in range I can says so”
"Alright Captain, looks like we aren't far off. Wanna send the little guy to scout and come up with a plan?" say Sparhawk, anxious to complete this mission.
"Yes, you do that Ruhm, no risks and frequent reports, we want to know their location, numbers and equipment to form a good plan of attack." Sorsha says, then turning to the crew. "I think the plan will depend on what we face and where, but we will definitely want to surprise them which will mean Sparhawk and Eberk will form a second wave, crashing into them after we have used our full magical force in the initial moments to weaken and hopefully take out some of our enemies. Sparhawk and Eberk will then hold the line while the rest of us support them. I wouldn't mind have Bernard alive but don't hesitate to kill him if that would seem safer. We'll work out the last details when we know more. Any thoughts?"

"Agreed," says Sparhawk, ever watchful of an ambush.
