"No injuries, just a few unfortunate deaths." Sorsha says callously, quickly glancing over at the remains of the dead sailors. "Now, let's get moving."
"We would love to stay and negotiate the appropriate payment," Bjorn calls to the guards as he leaves with the group, "but we cannot afford to stop, for the vigil against crabs is not over. I would hate for any of you to bear the burden of a debt unpaid, so please feel free to place your donations in a small chest and hide it right there," he points to some rocks, "in order that you might sleep well at night. We shall return for it once the city is safe and sound."
Catching up to the group, he keeps looking over his shoulder as if the crab mother is going to return.
The leader of the Guards calls out to you before you leave " please give a name for the battle report. There will likely be some compensation for the heroic work you have done. We cant just put it in a box on the beach The Captain, Kurth of the 1st Ship wouldn't forgive such a thing"
Vars snickers quietly, as he takes up the lead again. He seems a little uncomfortable about being labeled as a part of Sorsha’s crew, but he stays quiet. After a moment he says to Sorsha, “Perhaps they can get you a better crossbow. Your current one must be faulty.”
Vars shrugs, “Just didn’t see you land a shot is all.” He lowers his voice a little, “Honestly, I don’t have much use for those things anyway. They take to long to load.” He fondly runs a hand over his longbow, which he’d already slung back over his shoulder.
"Very perceptive of you, I'm not sure myself but I don't think I penetrated the armor of that beast. I suppose you did then so well done." Sorsha says with a quick smile to Vars.
The guard take over looking for survivors and interview crewman1. You all walk away, past dock 4 and up towards the bridge that will take you to the island where the arcane tower sits. You can see the tower now clearly, all 5 spires are illuminated. The tops look like the canopies of trees, made of light. During the day, the clear domes over each of the spires is difficult to see, making the tower appear like a ghastly hand protruding from the ground. In the past it was even more creepy, but with is reformation the brotherhood have seen fit to update and transform the structure to be more appealing to the residents and visitors of the city.
Bjorn shivers. "Bit foreboding, isn't it?" His eyes dart back to the beach, then up to the high spires. "We'd best get inside, though. Can crabs climb? Don't answer that."

Vars grins, nodding at Sorsha’s response. Then looks up at the towers as they approach, taking in the sight without a word.
The Host Tower of the Arcane wasn't on Frangipanis top list of spots to visit usually....she figured there should be a big gate somewhere...not all wizards could teleport after all.
"My friends, it would be wise to come up with a strategy to get past the initial apprentices at the tower. If its anything like my church, their job is to turn away or delay our entry outright. To find Kutoti Irongrass, we will need to seek wizards of higher rank and authority. Also, if we pose the questions right, we may find out if our friend is present in the tower, or indeed is the one who is missing." Sparhawk hated waiting and dealing with people who were put in positions to delay his missions and felt a sense of self-importance. Generally, however, due to his size, reputation, and sheer strength, most would "allow" him to pass without too much arguing.
"I'm fairly certain the missing wizard Bjorns contact mentioned is this Abernath the Infernal if you remember:"Sorsha turns and says to Sparhawk. "I haven't yet been to the Host Tower myself. I would have guessed it wouldn't pose a problem just delivering a letter to the right wizard but we will see."She adds, as the crew approaches their destination.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"I assume we wouldn't have been warned about letting this letter fall into the wrong hands, if those wizards weren't likely to try to intercept it. So I would suggest not mentioning it." Bjorn cracks his knuckles and grins. "But I'm sure they'll be eager to let us talk to Irongrass, because we know where Abernath is."
"Being that we were just attacked by giant crabs on their beach, perhaps a more direct approach would work. We could say, ("We just risked our lives fighting giant crabs to deliver this very important message, but we are concerned because we heard he was missing.") Sparhawk muses, raising an eyebrow. "I'm quite good at the art of persuasion."

Sparhawk grabs his javelin and cleans off his sword “Nice work my friends. “ he also starts moving from the gruesome scene

"Sorsha, Sorsha Deepfathom and her brave crew." Sorsha calls out as they are leaving the scene.
(Sparhawk was glad Sorsha took the lead on that, as he thought not all in the group would want to openly advertise their names to the guard)
”ok group, back to work” Sparhawk suggested in a somewhat militant tone, his disciplined militant background coming through.

"Why do you say that Vars? What's wrong with it?" Sorsha says.

Eberk looks for an entrance to the tower and approaches.

" Though there may be no need if the higher ups are eager for news."
