They had been looking for a wizard...and a tower....and now here were both.
Her mind briefly dwelled on the nature of the ' dog' but seeing the imp she felt perhaps its nature might be more likely to viciously savage than to accept scritches.
Eberk takes a seat at the table and eagerly grabs a cup of tea. As he lets his tea cool a bit he looks around the room, taking in as much of it as he can.
Perception: 7
You can see this library/ greeting room is immaculate in its maintenance. Nary a speck of dust in the whole place. The amount of books and scrolls seems unfathomable to you and must have cost a fortune to collect. You hear a bit more growling and think maybe you see something in the deep shadow near the eastern bookcase.
The Gnome named Page sprints off to follow the Imps orders and heads through the right door on the North wall.
After about an hour of waiting, Page returns and explains to the Imp there is no answer at the Masters door and that the masters assistant Ufeli said he hasn’t come out for at least 2 weeks. The imp looks concerned and then approaches you to explain what he just was told.
” I am most sorry for the wait and inconvenience. I am not sure what to do, I can feel he is present, but I am sworn to not enter the master’s reserved areas”
"Yes," Sparhawk looks at Frangipani, then back to the imp. "You are sworn not to enter but we are not. My friend here has the ability to shape shift, and can make sure no harm has befallen your master."
If it's been an hour, Bjorn will have wandered around the library, occasionally calling out odd book titles he sees, and keeping a wide berth from the mysterious "dog."
"Guessin' he's got a magical lab here. He was tryin' to make a copy of that missing artifact, last we heard of him."
"Anyone else noticed that all of Abernathy's servants are under 4 feet tall?"
"Yes," Sparhawk looks at Frangipani, then back to the imp. "You are sworn not to enter but we are not. My friend here has the ability to shape shift, and can make sure no harm has befallen your master."
(Persuasion if needed): 7
“ That is true, I made an oath, but you did not, heh he. I would be most grateful, and when you find him tell him Irongrass made you do it and that you had to beat me unconscious to get in..ha ha.” He directs you to to go through the right door and follow it up to the highest level. He also warns you not to go through the side doors on the staircase, as you could get lost.

(Sounds like a solid plan)
As you peruse the texts, you are amazed at the variety of subjects, languages represented. There are several that you have no idea of the origin or culture. You catch a quick glimpse of the growling dog and are surprised to find it looks an awful lot like a flop eared rabbit, with single horn on its forehead. It’s eyes are glowing red and has the look of menace that conflicts with its cuddly looking exterior.
"Very well," Sparhawk looks at the group and rises from his chair. He finishes the last few sips of the tea. "We thank you for your hospitality." He looks at the crew. "It appears, we can head up to see how our friend is doing. Shall we?"
As has been their strange bond, Sparhawk allows the cute Frangiotter onto his broad shoulder and gives it a quick gentle scratch on her nose and whiskers.
As you enter the right door you see the most daunting staircase you have ever seen. The circular stairway heads strangely to the left and spirals up and up to a height you cannot see. At regular intervals you can see there are windows on each side of the tower and a soft glow illuminates the way. As you move up at each floor there is a door next to each window, which also seems odd considering it is the outside wall of the tower
As you pass by the first window you get the smell of fresh ocean breeze and as you look out you can see an Island not far off, but it seems the tower is completely surrounded by the ocean.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Sparhawk huffs and puffs and paces himself (so the others can keep up). His heavy armor also slows him down, but likely not the little otter on his shoulder. Con check: 10
(is there a top to the tower or are we missing something, feels like an Escher painting?)
Sparhawk stops for quick rest, grabs a swig of water. As with swimming, going up stairs is certainly not what heavy armor was made for.
"Lets catch our breath here." He takes out his writing implements, careful to not knock the otter off. He takes a bit of chalk, and puts a (S17^) (up arrow)on the next doors bottom corner. (His guess as to how many doors they have passed, and enough to notice it, but not big enough to upset someone). He is hoping he will not see this mark again until he is on his way back down.
"Any thoughts as to what we will say to the wizard, if indeed we find him?"
Frangipani sits down slightly confused by the situation...
Sparhawk, seeing Frangipani looking awkward gives her some tea. "I believe we may have found our missing wizard."
"Bjorn my clever friend, now we see if your theories are correct."
"' Wizard, yes."

She drank her tea and waited to see the wizard.

" I'm not....if you want me to take a look?"
" I can be a vole or a otter or a crab..."
"Yes," Sparhawk looks at Frangipani, then back to the imp. "You are sworn not to enter but we are not. My friend here has the ability to shape shift, and can make sure no harm has befallen your master."

The small dark-blue otter nods vigorously and crawls up onto Sparhawks shoulder.

Sparhawk wonders to himself if each door leads to a different teleport location.

Everyone roll a constitution check to see how many levels you can climb before you need a rest…it’s a big set of stairs
(Frangipani is riding on Sparhawk.......that sounds wrong.....)
