Bjorn looks over the chests as the others try to handle the gas. "Curse can never be broken, eh? Let's see about that." He snatches the darts from one chest and a handful of cloth from another, but leaves the one with the coins alone.
He glances back and forth from the casters to the thieves' tools, wondering if there's time to pick everything back up again.
Eberk pulls the longsword and begins cutting up one of his wolf furs into small chunks. “Try to fill the mouths. Might buy us some time.”
As Eberk stuffs the hunks of fur into the mouths he can see the mist react with the hair and skin in an alarming manner. The hair strands fall out and begin to twist and deform. They become thick and worm like with strange spikey protrusions forming all around. The skin of the pelt boils up in places with odd, hard stone like tumors erupting from where the hair had fallen off. A fairly disgusting display

There is nothing of note to indicate which route would better.
Seeing the bizarre transformative effect of the gas, Bjorn decides not to spend the time gathering up his tools. "Right behind ye," he agrees, leaving the torch burning on the floor.
If the magic staff isn't too close to the fumes (at least a couple of feet), he'll snatch it up before heading to the door with Sparhawk.

The gas is slow moving as if the valve is not fully opened and the area where you were working is currently still cleared.
1) Sparhawk wonders if the key they recovered (I think we got one) from the chef would fit. (IF VERY LUCKY???) 2) If clearly not and the mist has not overtaken Bjorn's lock picks, "Bjorn, wanna give this door a try with those handy pics of yours?"
3) If his locks are clearly covered in the green stuff: Sparhawk will try to force the door open: (Strength check?)

Strength check to break/ open the door (will use Bjorns strength and handy dandy crow bar as well if needed:) Strength check: 24 Strength check with advantage? 23

You give a mighty try to bust the door open, but it seems to be made of iron ( dc30) the shape of the jeweled key is very exotic and is apparent that it would not work here. The locks on this door is a standard type.
The green mist slowly seeps from the skulls, it is so toxic it seems to further deform the skulls as it passes out of them. The hairs from fur continue to convulse, change and swell and the hairless, tumor covered skin continues to bubble and writhe.
(Next we check the passageway and door to see about exiting. )

“Bjorn, any way to reset the trap and close the device that opened the gas vents?”
Lir casts his spell forcing the mist outward towards the wall and destroying the water from its mixture, leaving only a thick, green condensed goop.

Lir gives a satisfied grunt.

Sparhawk will examine the door for traps. Then, finding none, he will try to open it. (Detect traps perception?): 19
Frangipani readys Ice Knife in case there is a giant spider....or something...behind the door.

( investigation is req to find a trap)
Sparhawk doesn’t detect anything out of the ordinary with the door, but finds that it is locked

[Oh yeah, that jeweled key! Sparhawk has it, I can't believe we didn't try it on any of the chests lol.]
[My understanding is that picking a lock takes a minute or two that we may not have, but if it seems like we've got time, then here's a roll:] 5
[If it doesn't seem like we have time, he'll just Help someone try to break the latch.]

“Gah! Ruined one of my furs.” Eberk curses at the mist. He makes his way over to Sparhawk to help with the door.

Seeing that we can't get through the door, Sparhawk will consider the archway.
" You need horse again?", Frangipani queried.
( If confirmed she'll HELP with the door opening by kicking the crap out of it. Though with DC 30 I don't like our chances)
