Sparhawk describes the plant zombie attackers. “did they resemble this description?”
sparhawk glances at Bjorn
”Bjorn mentioned a translator. We might need a way of decider things. His spell was a scroll and only worked once. there are drawings and writings on the walls, and a sort of elaborate lever system which may provide entry into an inner chamber. “
“I’m thinking the inner room is designed to keep us out, a sort of burial chamber possibly. Not sure it would be wise to open it.”
“ah…” he smiles. “Was hoping it was Irongrass, but just Paladin stuff. While you all took your day in the town, I took the liberty to do some of my own business with a fellow paladin. I’m exploring better protection.
(doesn't happen often, but Bjorn notes Sparhawk seems intentionally vague…perhaps best not to bother the captain right now with everyone present)
"So if we go back to the garden of Zalkore, what are we looking for? It's very dangerous there. There is some sort of plant that emits a toxin that charms and eventually kills its owner. We need a way to protect ourselves from this. We found writing, pictures, and other clues."

“ hmmm, a translator? Anyone smart enough to translate the ancient Omu language is likely too smart to go into the jungle…let me see if I can find a scholar that would maybe provide an aid you can take with you so you can translate it yourself, maybe another scroll or language key of some sort. If the chamber is designed to keep us out, it must be where we need to go. People only guard things they feel are of value”
"I was afraid you might say that Baron, but unfortunately, it's what I expected."
The paladin looks to his crew. "Thoughts my friends. I know there are things I am missing here."
"Now the puzzle of levers to open that chamber is another matter and, clearly, beyond my skill. I do have confidence in my clever crew to figure this out."

Dietrich laughs a bit, “ yeah I know those plants well…like I said, the jungle here will literally try and eat you..I believe there are potions that can be bought to provide extra resistance to the effects of the toxins, but so far I don’t know of any that can mitigate them completely, it is always best to not be caught alone around those plants, assassin vines are particularly nasty as well as the yellow musk vines. I am sure you will figure something out.” Dietrich will hand over a bag of coins to Sparhawk, “ here is 2weeks pay for your scouting up to this point. There is 700g for each plus a 100g extra for the Captain as bonus. I must be off for my other appointments. Hey Volo, let’s be off. Don’t wish to be late….oh, we will meet back here tomorrow to finalize the plan for operation Zalkores map.”
Sparhawk looks at Bjorn and grins as he gives the sleepy man a hard time. He looks at the group before they disperse and grabs the extra 100 gold he was given.
"Here's 20 gold for each of you for...putting up with me." (Not Zaal)
"Go enjoy yourselves. Its back to the wilderness tomorrow. Did we decide to give Bjorn that book to look over?" (OOC: Do we still even have the book?)
"I need to reflect more on the dream I had last night."
"Before you go, I'd like a word in private with each of you."
Sparhawk pulls Bjorn aside as the group disperses. (FOR BJORN)
"Bjorn, I'm in need of your assistance with a matter this evening. I'm asking Zaal to help with a task at midnight. Kind of a job interview of sorts. I'd like you to be in disguise or invisible outside the all-faith chapel at midnight. I am undergoing a ritual with a fellow paladin to...tap into more of my divine powers. (level 6). I don't really want you to interact at all with us. Just observe and see if the man is trustworthy."
If all goes well, Zaal will simply escort me back to the inn after I complete the ritual.
Your job is to see if Zaal completes his task and proves to be trustworthy. Also, this matter is highly private, so your discretion in not sharing with the crew would be....mandatory."
"Looks like we are going back to the queens burial chamber. I'm wondering if you could gather more information on her that we don't know already. She sounds like she had too much hubris, and made another god angry. Knowing more about this matter will provide us with an advantage we did not have when we visited that place blindly." Sparhawk grabs Eberk's wrist in a firm brotherly handshake.
"Now that we are alone, anything that I should know about Lir?" He smiles. "I would like to gain an understanding of your goals. I know being a hired mercenary is not very meaningful to you, nor is it to myself."
"We have been companions on these missions for quite some time. Yet, I feel like you have not found your purpose, or at least, I don't understand it yet. I wanted to take some time to ask you more as your leader how I can best serve you?" (As usual, the half-orc is both serious and somewhat awkward in his mannerisms)

Sparhawk examines the seal to see if he recognizes it.
”Hum, not many know we are here”
Sparhawk looks it over, but chooses not to share.
“ah…” he smiles. “Was hoping it was Irongrass, but just Paladin stuff. While you all took your day in the town, I took the liberty to do some of my own business with a fellow paladin. I’m exploring better protection.

Insight check on Sparhawk - it's unusual for the paladin to be circumspect.
Plus, y'know, possible leverage.

Sparhawk looks back to Dietrich
"So if we go back to the garden of Zalkore, what are we looking for? It's very dangerous there. There is some sort of plant that emits a toxin that charms and eventually kills its owner. We need a way to protect ourselves from this. We found writing, pictures, and other clues."

Dietrich will hand over a bag of coins to Sparhawk, “ here is 2weeks pay for your scouting up to this point. There is 700g for each plus a 100g extra for the Captain as bonus. I must be off for my other appointments. Hey Volo, let’s be off. Don’t wish to be late….oh, we will meet back here tomorrow to finalize the plan for operation Zalkores map.”
Frangipani watched with interest, happy to be going back to the jungle.
"Hey, I resemble that remark!"
“Alright crew, we got one more day do conduct any business or pleasure you might have. We leave in the morning.”
”I’m considering adding Zaal as an extra resource. Thoughts?”
"I forgot he was here. I suppose that's better than bein' obnoxious." Bjorn grins. "Say, are you the strong, silent type? Or just the silent type?"
"Wonder what they have here that's worth spendin' coin on. Worth looking around. I'll see about potions, will somebody look into magical items?"
Zaal gives Bjorn a flat look. Clearly he doesn't feel the need to give a straight answer to that question.
Frangipani is going to be on the lookout for more interesting animals to spend time as....
(FOR BJORN)

Your job is to see if Zaal completes his task and proves to be trustworthy. Also, this matter is highly private, so your discretion in not sharing with the crew would be....mandatory."
Then Sparhawk approaches Eberk (For EBERK)
"Looks like we are going back to the queens burial chamber. I'm wondering if you could gather more information on her that we don't know already. She sounds like she had too much hubris, and made another god angry. Knowing more about this matter will provide us with an advantage we did not have when we visited that place blindly."
Sparhawk grabs Eberk's wrist in a firm brotherly handshake.
"I'm counting on you my friend."
Then the captain approaches Lir. (For Lir)
"Now that we are alone, anything that I should know about Lir?" He smiles. "I would like to gain an understanding of your goals. I know being a hired mercenary is not very meaningful to you, nor is it to myself."
Finally, Sparhawk approaches Frangipani. (For Frangi)
