“Friend Bjorn, a warriors lock pick. Although I approve of such methods, Perhaps a more delicate technique would work, so as not to harm our missing friends home”.
(let’s do a quick buy a lock pick set and get on with getting back in plz).
[Since no one seems to have noticed Bjorn's apparent intention to break a window, I'll just skip over it as well, lol.]
"I suppose we can search for a seller. I'm not pleased about the time we've wasted already, though." Bjorn impatiently taps his fingers on the handle of his weapon. "Ach! Looks like there's no other way in. Fine."
( I was waiting for you to commit…)
so you find a tool dealer in the not so far away Northern market, for the low price of 30gp with the promise nobody will know of the sale to ones not members of the thieves guild.
After a few attempts one of you are able to get the tumblers to tumble and you hear the familiar click of the lock unlocking
Sorsha nods as Bjorn heads off to get some lock picks. She breathes a sigh of relief as he manages to pick the lock, getting them back inside. "Okay, together then, start with the basement but be careful with the dangerous casks down there." She says as the crew heads downstairs.
(Was Frangipani okay with being a banker? Did Bjorn take the thieves tools? How much should we deduct for the thieves tools?)
" I also give pretty decent footrubs.....but you lot will need to get a fairly intense pedi before you ever find out.", she smirked flashing her too-sharp teeth.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
"Lets do the detect magic and see what we see. Sorsha has already been down for a short look while I was attacked by my animated friend." (Perception around the barrels for anything out of place, unusual, looking for secret doors, a barrel that is leaking, etc. (Perception: 12)
(OOC: Could I get a refresher on what we know is down here? Do we know what is in the casks or just that they say danger on them?)
"If we find nothing down here," Vars says as everyone looks around the room. "We should consider searching for anything that could be the book he was so excited about. If not the book, we should see if he has a journal, perhaps it would contain clues if he knew something was going on. "
Eberk does a ritual casting of Detect Magic at the bottom of the stairs.
Upon casting detect magic, nothing around the basement floor shows any magical essence. The roof gives off a very slight glow, like the magic is more above the planks than below in the basement area. The crates on the floor are still there, a few marked dangerous and there are some barrels of pickles, grains and wine.

The lid of one of the crates seems slightly askew

(lol yes, I haven't seen much anime, but yes. If this were an anime series I would watch it...now I've got some drawing inspiration lol.)
"Yes! Finally!" Vars says, exhaling. "Lets get a move on then...and we'll stay together this time. He chuckles a little at the last part.
“Ok, we are in. Let me lock the door after we all enter” Sparhawk jokes sarcastically
Here is the map again, to refresh your memory
[We going down to the basement, then?]
(Yes)
" Want me to lead the way?"

( Fine being banker: so 214 - 30 for the thieves tools = 194 left?)
(Note: Sparhawk did not lock the front door). “Chef, Horse, spewer of poison, Banker…. Your skills are appreciated Frangipani“

Bjorn is happy to let somebody else go in front. If it's dark down there, he'll spark up a torch; otherwise, two axes.
"Maybe Mr Infernal simply fell down his stairs and hit his head."

Vars eyes the dangerous casks warily.
