Lir and Eberk catch the silhouette of cat-like humanoid monitoring your progress from atop a rock formation quite a distance off, approximately 300' or more away. As far as you can tell it is only a single being and it doesn't make any movement. Just seems to be watching.
“I say we continue. If it is isn’t aggressive it will likely leave us alone completely. And if it’s friendly, it may follow and decide to help. If we approach it may take it as aggression.”
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
You progress another 6 miles through the night. Occasional bursts of light through the air from the volcanic burps. The air is pleasantly cool compared to the daytime temperatures, though it is still humid.
(We'll travel the same amount of time as a usual day of travel, but do it in the cool of the night. As the sun rises and the heat starts, we'll call it a "night" and do a tiny hut for the "day" and rest. Then repeat the next evening.) Sparhawk will spend some of the down time trying to get his armor and weapons back in order, as the combination of mud, humidity, and ash have probably done number on his equipment.)
You make it the final 6 miles for the day just as the sunlight begins to color the sky. The sky is growing a bit cloudy as you set up camp and settle in for the day. Do whatever maintenance or whatever else you wish to take care of before you sleep
With the magic hut, we are in good shape but we’ll keep a watch schedule to see what type of critters show up. Sparhawk, Frangipani, Bjorn , Lir, Eberk
While you are resting, those on watch can see the clouds darken and the winds pick up. The ash and dirt from around the valley billows up into a dusty sort of fog as it mixes with moist air from the incoming front. By the 3rd watch, the rain coming down becomes a deluge. Seems like oceans of water dropping from the sky. As the day turns to night the rain tapers off leaving a thick fog blanketing the ground as you prepare to travel again.
The earth is quite saturated with water and is basically one giant mud bog, so movement is 1/2 the usual until the earth hardens again
(We got enough food and water with us to recover that exhaustion during the rest?)
Perception: 6
(These are also good Shadow Blade conditions. Even if I can't see, I can attack without disadvantage -- or advantage if I can!)
Perception- 27 (rolled on sheet).
Perception 21 (rolled in game log)

(Assuming Lir or Eberk point them out, "Shall we proceed or try to see if they want to talk ?" the ever curious and courteous Sparhawk asks?)

"We see it. Keep watch. Might be a scout."
“Agreed. Let’s keep moving”

"This place is just full of awful surprises, eh?"
“Indeed.” Sparhawk grumbles as he had just cleaned his armor. “ alright slow and easy through this mess”
