The ominous sound of a deep, resonant bell rings in the chamber, and with a “whip-whip-wee” screech, one of the Strix creatures falls to the ground dead. Javier is up!

Javier shuffles a few steps back to position himself to get a clear shot as he makes his hand gestures pointing two fingers at his target and twisting his wrist he casts mind sliver (dc 13 Int) for 2 psychic damage and will use his bonus action to telekinetically shove the same one into a wall or the ground. Garth : The source of the sound was the spell toll the dead echoing in the chamber.
Salamir : You were seen by the Strix and you are not hidden.

Javier : As you reach out with your mind and shove the spike of energy into the strix’s head, you hear a similar screech and see the thing falling dead to the ground. ((For future telekinetic shoves on these flying creatures you will need to give me a sleight of hand check to see whether you can catch the creature flying through the air with your invisible mage hand.))

The Strix fly in closer looking to attack and receive a blood meal. Four of them are left.
Strix 1 attacks Hlin : Attack: 10 Damage: 5
Strix 2 attacks Salamir : Attack: 8 Damage: 5
Strix 3 attacks Belkaria : Attack: 15 Damage: 5
Strix 4 attacks Javier : Attack: 8 Damage: 7
The Strix are cave dwelling birds that behave like vampire bats. They attempt to use claws midway down the wing and talons to attach and then use their tube shaped sharp beak to puncture the skin and drain their prey’s blood. The trunk slips down over the beak and covers the wound.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Salamir and Belkaria are hit with damage and the Strix attacking them attach to their necks.
You may use an action to pull them out or to attack them. Others attacking a Strix attached to someone need to be careful obviously, a bad miss could harm the person that has the Strix on them.
Garth, then Belkaria and Salamir are up!

Looking back to see the strix dropping from the roof and surrounding his companions, Garth gathers his thoughts. His eyes settle on the scholar. Probably going to pee himself.
Quietly pulling back on his bow, the faint creak of wood and sinew can be heard before the soft thrum of the bow string signals the release of an arrow tagreted at the strix that attacked Javier. Almost as soon as the arrow is loosed he drops the bow and draws one of his swords, moving forward to the nearest enemy.
Attack: 14 Damage: 13 (advantage assumed due to hidden)
Garth shish-kebobs a Strix, a few more on the arrow and you might have a meal out of it. The arrow shoots across the cavern with the the little blood sucking body on it, falling to the ground.
Belkaria and Salamir are up, you each have a blood sucking Strix on you!

Salamir cries out in pain as the Strix latches onto his neck and starts to extract his blood, the shock and pain causing him to drop the lantern. Thankfully he had lowered the hood earlier.
"What are these things?!".
He draws his rapier and attempts to impale the creature with it, holding it fairly awkwardly to get an angle to strike it without hurting himself.
Salamir, not to be outdone, skewers the Strix attached to his neck, cleanly picking it off with his rapier. Blood oozes out of the wound, the Strix is dead.
Belkaria is next!

"Gah! Help me!!" Belkaria watches as the others skewer their foes, but she doesn't have that option. She looks around wildly as she doesn't want to burn it, being too close to her face and worries she'll hit herself with her quarterstaff. In a panic, she just reaches up and tries to fling it off of her.
(You just mentioned using an action to pull it off, but in case I need a strength check, I'll roll it - hopefully its not needed) STR 10
Belkaria pulls it out of her neck and it flutters upward, circling again. Two Strix remain, they are still looking for prey, flying 20 feet above your head. You step back in the sticky goo, the smell is slightly nauseating.
Javier and Hlin are up!

Can we see anything that might be the source of the ominous ringing?
