Javier runs to the orc's side and tries to put pressure on the bleeding with his scarf. (medicine check just in case 9 ) "Shoot, Hiln or Belkaria, can one of you heal him? Is there a chance?" he pleads anxiously
"Ok, I will admit that was my fault", he says as Norak called out his poor execution. "City living doesn't prepare you for acting like a chicken to draw out an Owlbear", he says as he wanders over towards the Orc. "Is there anything that can be done?", he says, echoing Javier, a look of guilt across his face.
"Also, thank you all for not hanging me out to dry".
The blood stops flowing from Erk’s chest, and a warm glow seems to fill his body. He sits up, looking at all of you, bent over him. “Where is that thing? What happened?” He grips his sides, still very sore, and weakly stands. Norak’s eyebrows raise and he is obviously impressed, as he wipes the blood of the owlbear off of his notched great axe. “Just like Lophi would do. Ok, good to have you back, Erk. Maybe you should fall back until you recover. Now then. The cave - - lies ahead. Let’s have a look.” He walks forward and starts to look around the cave entrance and antechamber. Here is what you see as you follow :
As you enter the cave you notice that it is a natural cavern with gray rock that has pink mineral sparsely mixed in. There isn’t any light, so the tunnel gradually darkens. It is a wide passage, about 15 feet wide and 30 feet tall, that wanders back and forth. The wandering nature of the passage limits vision to about 15 feet. Down the middle of the passage is a path of stone with large 3 foot runes, the runes are the same three, over and over again. The sun, a triangle, and a bird’s head. This repeats every 3 feet, but in a different pattern. There are also runes on the wall. The passage ends in a natural large cavern with an elevated ceiling, 45 feet high. There are bones scattered around the cavern. In the southeast corner there is a pile of rocks like someone was trying to cover up something. It does not appear to be a cave in, but deliberately placed. In the far southwest corner, there is a stick pile. The pile is 12 feet in diameter and is neatly woven in a circle with a depression in the middle of it.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Salamir follows Norak into the cave and along the passage, noting the three rune pattern repeating.
He sees the bones and assumes that this was where the Owlbears ate. The pile of rocks and sticks are more interesting though. He wanders over to the rock pile and takes a closer look, trying to figure out what they are trying to cover.
Being a little more cautious after the Owlbear incident, he doesn't immediately start moving them.
Salamir you see that the path leads into this pile of rocks, you move a few away, but don’t really find anything. It seems puzzling to you how the path seems to end abruptly there and there is nothing that you can find.

As they walk Javier cast light on his quill and will take down the varying pattern of runes with as much accurate details as possible. He inspects them intently (investigation: 25 ). Once they get to the opening, he sends Olive around the room to get a full idea of the space that they are in, if possible and Olive fits, she would also try to squeeze through the rubble to see if we can find anything under there before removing the stones.

All runes make Belkaria uneasy. She is actually glad there are so many of them in this cavern as she can't believe it would be anything good they would come across while they investigated it. As they reach the large cavern, she sees Salamir head over to the rock pile, so she goes over to the pile of sticks, trying to see if she can make any sense of it and what the depression is for.
Javier - Olive tries to squeeze through, but it is apparent that she is not able to do so. As you study the runes it is clear that this is a purposeful pattern, but you do not detect any trap or movement of the runes in this portion of the cave. They look to be in the floor as part of the original design, but they seem to be blocked off by the portion of the wall that you are examining. It appears to be hewn out of the rock by the cultists. In your estimation, it would take 4 people at least 2-3 days to move all of the rock that is blocking the passageway.
Belkaria - In the pile of sticks as you are poking around, you find several items. There is a small leather pouch, and when you open it you see 7 g.p., 2 s.p., and 13 c.p. You see a red gem. Also you see a pale silver ring with a hawk’s head on it, and a small golden chalice. As you are look toward the back of the nest, you see that there is a door outline hidden that was covered by the back of the nest. When you look at the ground near it, there appear to be signs of footsteps leading to the outline of the door.
Hlin - all is quiet for now.

Belkaria shows the rest of the group her findings, "I'll throw them in my pack for now, we can divvy things up later. And who knows, we might need some of these things as we travel? Also, look over here, there is a door it looks like." she heads over to the outline and tries to figure out if there is a way to open it up.

Salamir heads over to Belkaria.
"Nice, I couldn't make much sense of the stones, but this is more like it", he says, taking a look at the outline and trying to find some sort of mechanism to check it for traps.
"I wonder if it is safe, might need a hand to make sure", he adds, still a little trepidatious after almost getting one of the Orcs killed a short while ago.
The door swings open, does not appear locked in any fashion. There is a 3-4 foot wide passageway leading south and curving around to the left. It is dark and the only way to travel is single file. The light from Javier’s quill helps you to see. I’ll need a marching order please, tell me how you proceed. The orcs seem a little spooked and are glad to let the Shadow Guardians lead here.
"hmm I wonder if these runes are the key to something down the line...." he says as he finishes copying down. Javier acknowledges Belkaria's findings "You've got a very keen eye... it's very impressive as always. If you want I can inspect the items when we have a moment. See if there's anything special about them." He takes a position near the middle of the group sending Olive to help Hiln with her heightened nose and ears (Help action to give Hiln advantage on their next perception roll)
The party moves forward, you are in a curving narrow passageway. Hlin is in front, Garth behind, then Salamir, then Javier with his lighted quill, and finally Belkaria in the rear. Behind you, Norak leads the orcs and they follow in line as well. The passageway heads south and then curves east, finally heading back north. After you have travelled roughly 80 yards, Hlin sees the outline of a door, and an indentation that appears to be a handhold. You pull and the door opens inward, revealing a passageway.
The passageway heads west to east, and you see the vague outline of a similar pattern on the floor. When you look to the west, you see the other side of what appears to be a cave in, or rocks blocking off the passageway. You see runes on the floor, and the passageway heads east. This passage looks to be approximately 9 feet wide by 10 feet tall, and it travels into darkness. With your superior dark vision Hlin, you can see far in the distance at the outer edge of the range of your vision what looks to be a wall, and if you squint your eyes just right, you see a passageway heading north far in the distance. Otherwise, the passageway itself appears empty. The walls are adorned with images of ruins and birds. There are some images of triangles and bird heads.
The floor is adorned with three images, a sun, a triangle, and a bird head. The images are 3 feet in size and occur in groups. Each group stretches across the floor and has one image of each. However, the pattern changes with every group. The first group, from North to South, is a bird head, a sun, and a triangle. The next group is a sun, a triangle, and a bird head. These groups appear repetitively down the tunnel. It is quiet, and you do not see any sign of footsteps or any recent passage.
