With the poor soul already passed and nothing to be done for it, Gorm would use her checking for injuries as a cover to also check for valuables. If he was running it may not have been the book someone was after. And if nothing else, he could have more clues on him than just the book.
Leaping up when he sees the dwarf collapse, Logan slows down when it seems his companions have it handled. He makes himself useful by grabbing a nearby tablecloth and moving over to drape the unfortunate soul.

Gorm agile fingers are able to slip a handwritten note that was folded on a interior pocket of the deceased dwarf while helping Logan to cover the unfortunate old timer.
Not even her friend notices it.
" The advowed will be here in any minute " says the innkeeper looking from the door outside.
Gorm will wait until the body is fully covered and proper authorities, the advowed presumably, come to take over before she glances at the note. Best for all attention to be elsewhere before she attempts to read it. In the meantime she asks Dr. A and Logan "Does this concern us at all? I am unsure what the custom is here when people die of no apparent cause?"
”I assume there will be some sort of investigation, though I’m not sure how much we can help, as we only saw the very end of his life,” responds Logan, waiting patiently.

In fact less than a minute later a small group of Avowed reach the Heart and check on the fallen dwarf, they seem concerned and sad but they can overhear that, they concern is that it seems that the dwarf had taken a forbidden book from inside the library.
One of them, a middle aged human with a almost white goatee, asks them about what they had seen. After hearing their comments he says.
- It is unfortunate that our comrade has died. It seems that his old age finally caught up with him - as he talks the rest of the Avowed prepare the body to leave - we will take care of him of course. It concerns me why he had been here, and in some degree of stress. I guess that it was his own guilt for taking the book outside the library that caused this unfortunate ending... - he looks to Dr. A. - I am going to need to recover that book though. It has to return to the library... -
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Ahbut of course it is after all library property! And from my quick perusal it appears to contain sensitive material relating to the library’s defences.!” Dr A says. As he says this he examines the Avowed (Perception roll = 18) to make sure he is on the up and up (i.e. not hiding anything) Unless he is sure that the Avowed is not hiding something he doesn’t actually hand over the book and stalls for time by introducing himself as follows - “Ahbut I don’t believe I know you! Are you recently promoted to the ranks of the Avowed. Never mind my name is Vah Jo Gyaan Chaahata Hai and I am scholar of the arcane having researched out for more than a century. I am pleased to call myself a confidant of the great eleven sage Luinistar and a friend of Queen Laurefindil of Myth Drannor!”
The man seems a little bit overwhelmed by Dr. A presentation
"Uh oh.. yeah a pleasure to meet you " he doesn't seems to know how to behave in front such an important figure "Well thanks for the help I hope you find the rest of your visit to the Keep pleasant"
They take the corpse and the book and leave the Heart.
"What an unfortunate event " says Little One with his deep voice, as he seats again on his place and ask for some hot tea to calm the nerves.
The party are left to their own, with the mysterious note that Gorm had sneaked on her pocket waiting to be read.
Once they are alone and eyes no longer seem to be upon them, Gorm slips the note directly to Dr. A. "I haven't even looked at it yet but the deader had this on them. Could be nothing but..." and she finished with a slight shrug of her shoulders.
Finishing his book, Logan looks over in astonishment that Doctor A. is still deciphering that note. Getting bored, he wanders off to go find a hot drink and something to nibble on.

Dr A quietly reads the note that Gorm had so adroitly purloined from the dead dwarf’s body.
