Keeping the intruder boxed in towards the window, Logan struggles to defend himself with just his shield.
Still standing after the first slash, he overextends trying to keep the foe away from the slowly responding Talgred. The intruder’s blade skirls off his shield and sinks deeply into his side.
“Gethelp,” is all Logan can manage before his eyes unfocus and he drops to the floor.

“Doctor! Who…” Gorm calls out as she bursts into the room and quickly takes in the scene. Her words cut off and she jumps into action immediately upon seeing another intruder. She rushes in and takes two swings with her scimitars…
Scimitar Attack: 11 Damage: 9
Offhand Scimitar Attack: 9 Damage: 6
Hitting the attacker or not, Gorm aims to interpose herself between them and the good doctor…
Dr A goes back to his reading "ahbut well that solves the problem I guess. Gorm have a look out the window and see what direction he heads in case we need to know"
The intruder at Dr A. room flees, Gorm seems to have scared him but just before the academic is able to end his sentence scared screams came from the alley.
- HELP!! MY SIRE NEEDS HELP!! WE ARE UNDER ATTACK!!! -
Talgred's voice is loud making sure that the entire inn, and probably the nearest buildings, hear him.
"You can't just go back to..." Gorm is interrupted by the screaming and does a double take between the doctor and the window... "Ummm... Yeah... ok."
Gorm immediately dashes to the sound of the screaming. She's was more worried about Karvian but she could only hope that his lack of screaming, or being screamed about, was a good sign.
Karvian turns towards the door, grabbing his meat-cleaver off the side table, and dashes out the door, screaming, "Why won't this town stop sucking?!?!" (Disengage - I would like to run as far as I can)
Seeing Gorm, he begins to run after her. "GORM! There was some bastard in my room!"
Both Gorm and Karvian meet at the alley and some noises from other rooms can be heard as the screaming is waking up the rest of the guests of the inn.
They both, followed by the turtle, catch up with an agitated Talgred and together rush into Logan's room to find the warrior lying on the floor in a pool of his own blood.
The old man quickly kneels over his master trying to help him.
“Healers? Holy people? Even a city like this must have such. Tell me where and I’ll go fetch them,” she says to Talgred, eager to head off and do something useful rather than stand and watch, useful to nobody…

Dr A enters the room and sees Logan lying on the floor. He turns to Gorm "ahbut my young friend no need to rush, I have this under control"as he kneels down and examines Logan, he then passes his hands over the fallen knight intoning "Mistress of the weave lend me your power so that this future champion of yours may continue to do good work in your name!"As he does so one of the stars tattooed on his hands flash blue as he casts Cure wounds for 12 of healing on Logan.
Coughing as he regains consciousness, Logan tries to rise to a seated position—that he gets as far as propped up on his elbows is a testament to Doctor A’s healing prowess.
Slightly embarrassed by all the attention, Logan turns to Talgred and asks, “He got away, I suppose? Did you get a good look at him?”
Feeling way better than he had any business feeling, Logan looks around and adds, “And to whom do I owe my thanks for the continued breath in my lungs?”

Talgred seems relieved when his young master breaths again and nods thankfully to Dr. A.
"He didn't followed me out of the room sire... I could only see he was covered in a weird suit... it seemed to have a lot of fabric under the arms and attached to the rest of the body if you follow me... and the whole thing was tailored in such a way that it seemed to me to be trying to emulate lizard scales... pretty weird clothing sire... "
"I fear they all got away," Gorm advises, looking to the others for confirmation.
"Lizard, you say?" she then follows up with. "My intruder, too, wore some kind of odd clothing. When they leapt from my window they were able to fall upwards instead of down, as if a bird..."
"Strange occurrences indeed, good Talgred. I am glad you are unharmed and were able to summon help so quickly," says Logan. Getting himself up into a seated position and feeling a bit embarrassed by all the attention, he observes wryly, "Now you see why I typically wear armor wherever I go--I am not so good at dodging. Does anyone know what they were here for, other than to kill us in our sleep?"

Gorm thinks for a moment and glances to the others but in the end shrugs and shakes her head. “If the spoke I did not catch it, too focused on fending them off. But it must be connected to the airliner attack and thus the hood doctor’s friend, no?”
Dr A turns to Logan and says "ahbut my stalwart friend when the ruffians broke into my room they claimed that I had an item that had been stolen from them. I assured them that I did not steal anything nor was I in possession of anything that I knew to be stolen. Of course, it is always possible that the scroll was actually stolen from them but I wasn't got to admit to that was I?"
Nodding, Logan levers himself to his feet, saying, “I think we may need to take more security measures in our sleeping arrangements. We were fortunate to survive—this time.”
“Where is the innkeeper? We should consolidate our rooms and complete our rest tonight taking turns keeping watch and making sure the doors and windows are properly secured,” he adds tiredly.

Talgred, who was ahead of his master once he had been sure that he will be alright, comes upstairs with the innkeeper.
"I am shocked" he says " This never happened before... well, there was this assassination all those years back... but never anything like this... are you ok? Do you want me to call for the Guard?" he asks to the party.
Gorm gets a bit shifty eyed at mention of The Guard. Not that she has done anything wrong but her few interactions with the "protectors of Al-Hadhar" have been generally unpleasant. They tended to see the wild Tiefling with the two swords as a threat before words could be spoken or acquaintances even met. Still she was an outsider here and did not know the customs so she swallowed her initial reaction to refuse such an offer and instead looked to Logan and Dr. Arbutaveyu instead, deferring to their judgement.
