(Forgive me for not waiting for Karvian but I figure quicker to go now since we’re all 3 grouped anyway?)
Gorm see her friends have found the skirmish and has mixed feelings. She’s never been so proud as to turn down help in a fight but she would have preferred they not be endangered at all. Maybe because he’s a fellow Tiefling even if not from the sands, but she instinctively feels protective of Karvian. And Doctor Arbutaveyu… he hardly seems the type for a skirmish!
Distracted by their arrival a bit, Gorm almost misses the attack altogether but pivots to the left at the last minute and avoids the first attack. Barely. And she hadn’t been prepared for them to slice her as they pulled the weapon back, giving her a harsh slice of pain to try to ignore.
With a snarl, Gorm goes on the offensive striking out with first one hand axe and then the other. She’s still not yet decided against merely subduing these attackers but likely only cause she’s not yet noticed her friends have been cut as well…

The curved dagger hits it's mark taking a chunk of flesh with it. "That hurt more than it should have," Karvian says with a grimace as he stumbles backwards a few steps before catching himself. "I don't think this is the time for a dagger though," he says through curled lips. He begins whispering a discordant tune through gritted teeth, the pain from his wound focusing his mind and fueling his anger.

“Ah, there you are,” Gorm says calmly as Karvian and the good doctor arrive and the attackers flee. Her first instinct had been to strike when they took off but she held up, not wanting to run afoul of the cities strange rules and customs.
“It appears our new friends did not want to say hello,” she says while putting her hand axes away and watching them run. “They demanded the location of ‘the scrollcase’ but finally seem to have accepted that I did not know…”
"You better run!" Karvian yells after the group as he clutches his side. Leaning against the wall, he looks from Gorm to Dr. A. "Who the hell was that and why do they want that crusty old scroll anyways? I've got some spare parchment I can write crazy things on if they're really all that interested." He kneels down to place the dagger back in his boot, letting out a long groan. "I'm sure I could get it written in DracoElvenDwarvish with a sprinkle of Gnome if it helps!"
Grimacing he stands back up, looking after the fleeing men. "We should get out of here before someone else notices us."
The trio walk back to the street and make their way up to the university. There Dr. A. credentials and contacts allow them to access the library where, under the supervision of Dr. A. they pick no less than twenty books and parchments from different bookshelves. Grom has never seen so many book in one place, neigher Karvian for what it matters.
Logan is able to find them neat lunch time still at the library and with alll of them finally together the research is a little bit faster. Talgred manage to get them some food and wine to eat while they still work and after many hours of reading and gatheirng information Dr. A. finally has a couple of sheets with the most relevant information. Most of it confirms what they had already gathered and remembered.
There was, in fact, an age of old where Dragons ruled over all Faerun and the rest of the races, and it was the elves who managed to end that age. It seems that they could had some help, but it is not clear if it was from the Gods or the other mortal races. Lorac, the Lorekeeper is the name that came up most often as a reference for this period of time and the records of what could have happened but they cannot find any actual book signed by such Lorac.
They discover that there is, in fact a celestial body that can be seen crossing the skies of Faerun from time to time. The astrology section of the University is not as extensive as they would have whised, but they finally get a name of an astronomer that seems to be specilized in such phenomenons, Asthrem from Candelkeep.
Finally, but not least, they find records of the destruction of Calimsham not by a single dragon, but by several. They also find some texts about the fall of Netheril and their floating cities, it seems that it wasn't provoked by dragons, as Grom's tribe tales suggested, but for another cataclysm. Still they found records of a city that could have been attacked and presumibly destroyed by a dozen of dragons before the fall of Netheril Empire, so maybe Grom's tales were refering to another incident different to the Fall, but relevant to them.
Their last discovery is more worrying. they manage to recolet histories of more dragons attacks. It seems that they gather in great numbers and attack countries or cities in a destruction rampage, but they cannot find anything that could have provoke this attacks or why the dragons pick one target and no other. They find, though, that this attacks are always, or at least from the ones that they find, made by chormatic dragons, never by their metallic cousins.
The hour grows late and the librarians start to whisper the command words that lit the lamps with magical light. Fire is forbidden in the library for safety reasons.
When Logan arrives Gorm happily breaks off from the reading and research to catch him up on their little skirmish in the streets. "Not restraining myself and putting one down may have given us a lead, but I understand cities frown upon deaths and tend to blame the outsiders..." she says to finish it all off. Truthfully she missed her desert home where violence was readily accepted in disagreements. It may not always prove who is right or wrong but it did stop a lot of minor annoyances one finds in a city from ever existing in the first place. When one knows they could be killed for rudeness they tend to be polite.
"It is no surprise what I knew was less than accurate. We do tend to value poetry and drama over accuracy in our stories and histories," she explains. "Remembering an exaggerated lesson is more beneficial than forgetting an accurate truth."
But mostly Gorm was impressed, intimidated but also bored surrounded by the abundance of books and paper and words. It was very impressive but in a way that didn't really speak to her soul. It was as if she was surrounded by a wealth that she had no way of spending.
"Hopefully your contact is safe until tomorrow," Gorm replies to Dr. A, thinking back to how they were accosted in the street. "It seems whatever may be happening in air with dragons or even in the skies and stars above them, there are people involved as well... Or at least those who wish for it to occur."

”Thank you, Gorm—yes, it seems that someone with resources is interested in our meeting as well. I will try to stay close by you all for the rest of today—let me know if you see any of the miscreants again,” replies Logan.
”Bythe way, I am on my way to a formal invitation to join the Purple Dragon Knights!” he adds excitedly. “I have passed their initial tests and my application will be voted on in a month’s time—I’ll tell you all about it at dinner!”
For the moment Logan quiets down so he doesn’t disturb the research. With little library experience himself, he spends most of the time watching for the thugs or helping get books off high shelves, but he does spend an hour or so reading a short book he found about the history of the Knights of Cormyr.

He flashes a quick smile at Logan and Gorm and sits back up as if he's fine, "Though, we are in a library. I'll save the celebratory tune for later."

The little group finally make back to their inn, or boat, and after a dinner where they share some more histories, they retire to their rooms to spend the night. At least this time there are no gnomes playing and while the mood is a little bit more boring, is definitely more quiet.
Gorm, used to the wind blowing among the dunes and tents of her people's campments in the desert finds difficult to get a good sleep in the inn. Even half-sleep, she can tell that there are someone in the room.
Dr. A. isn't sleep at all. At his age he doesn't really much sleep as he used to and he is awake and reading when he sees a humanoid figure that descend flying to his window and subtly manipulates it to open it. The figure, dressed in dark, strange clothes with spare fabric under the arms to produce some kind of wing to fly, and with his face covered, enters, trying not to do any kind of sound and turns to find a very awake Dr. A. staring at him.

Gorm slowly half opens an eye and tries to get a peek at the intruder, Her hands slowly move to her weapons which are never out of reach. As her hands touch her swords she gives a momentary thought to the "peace binding" of the weapons but surely these Al-Hadhar, these city dwellers, could not be against defending the very room in which one sleeps...
Once her hands are upon her weapons, assuming she is sure it is a stranger, Gorm rolls of her bed with drawn swords "Hatar!" she calls out, and attacks.
((I'll wait on attack rolls to see about initiative? Gorm initiative - 20 Also, I'm a little vague on sleeping arrangements. I'm pretty sure Roland has his own? Don't recall if the Doctor, Karvian and Gorm shared or not though... If single rooms, and they are close by, Gorm definitely calls out "Hatar!" as loud as possible, trying to alert them to danger even as she attacks...))
