I just realised that I never described Raphael- he is wearing high quality baggy pants made from a light yet strong material. They are tucked in about 3/4 down into some wrapping, which covers his lower leg and stop at his ankle, revealing some scaled talons. A blue sash is tied atound his waist like a belt, which compliments a long, flowing red headband tied around his head. He is currently wearing a sleeveless cloak and his wings are folded in, hugging his body.
His feathers are a light brown and he has some white furnover the front of his human like torso. The feathers are shining, and are immaculately well kept. Splashes of white feathers are above his yellow eyes, like eyebrows and he has an orangy yellow beak. Also, see signiature pic.
Milo doesn't even wait for the newcomers to sit down but moves to Leodel. "Hello, My name is Milo Honeytongue. Entertainer, musician and great storyteller. Maybe you've heard of me before. Or the stories of the biggest adventurer ever: little Halfling Gilbert!Do you mind if I put on a little show here? I'm sure the people will be happy to get some entertainment."
Leodel looks at Milo somewhat skeptically, unsure if he's for real or insane. "I can't say I have. If you wish to, you may."

"Hello, sir Milo!" Grol says as the halfling finishes his introduction. "I would be delighted to hear a story of Gilbert!"
Grol then takes a sip of the fine brew that the barkeep offered on the house. The beer is smooth and rich.
Milo seems happy that someone notice Him. The leodel looks like he is busy and didnt get his question.
"Glad to see you're interested Mister. I'll be happy to tell you a great story on occasion. But they need a large audience. Only then can the feelings be transported. As soon as there will be a bigger audience, you will hear a great story...I promise you that "

suddendly a Dragon roar to hear. (Minor Illusion) All heads turn to Milo and it gets quiet. "Do you want a story? With dragons? I will tell you the story of how Gilbert defeated his first dragon..." he tells how the little halfling helped a king to free his daughter from the catch of the dragon and was swallowed be the Dragon during the fight. But this one, because he was so small, survived in the stomach of the monstrous. The Kings guard was allready defeated and the King Would be next. But Gilbert heard the heart From within the dragon and stabbed it and saved the king and the princess.
He makes use of illusions again and again in his narrative. Smaller still images that support the story or sounds in the appropriate moments. The tension is within his grasp. The whole thing ends with a more crowning finish by playing a song on his violin that brings out the king's joy. „The moral of this story: size is not decisive. It's the luck of being swallowed in a bite because you're so small.“
Raphael pulls out some parchment and some ink quills while the story was going on. He lays back in his stool, against the bar behind him and sketches the halfling telling the story. Once it's done, he too applauds with a polite golf clap.
Her pout disappearing at the poor reception and the beguiling halfling's tale, "Hey now. That was pretty good! I particularly enjoyed the imagery accompiament. I think the big guy here also thoroughly enjoyed it."

Milo:
Some of the patrons who were listening in give scattered applause and a few lightly knock their mugs on tables. There are a couple drunken jeers and calls of mockery, but overall most either enjoyed the performance or mind their business.
A couple well-plied groups on their way out of the tavern give you 5 gold pieces
After roughly 15 minutes from Milo's performance, the bar empties a little more and there are now roughly 30 patrons inside, including yourselves. An individual with a cloak over his head enters the bar and sits near the back.
The smell of salt, a cool ocean breeze, and the sound of the waves repeatedly fills the interior of the Sour Barnacle as several half-drunk people leave. Then a large half-orc with a chipped greataxe and slightly rusty chainmail enters. He has a large scar going across his left cheek. The symbol on his tabard looks exactly similar to the seal on your letter that you presented at the gate—two daggers in an X pattern. Right behind him is a short, middle aged, chubby male halfling wearing an expensive looking dark green business suit, monacle, top hat, and tobacco pipe in hand. He walks over to the end of the bar, removes his top hat and moncile then nods to his companion. Leodel gives a look of slightly disapproval and sighs, then the half-orc bodyguard knocks on an empty table to gain the attention of the bar.
The halfling steps forward and scans everyone with his eyes. He says in a firm tone, "Good evening, my name is Teagle Bolger, assistant and representative for Mayor Hilda Hook of Black Root. (He holds up an official document showing proof of his office and puts it away) You may call me MISTER Bolger. As you probably guessed, unless you've sustained too many blows to the head, I'm here for the official call for volunteers that you signed up for with the city of Black Root, as requested by the kingdom of Tarant. If you do not have your letter in possession, then I kindly ask you to leave..."
He pauses for a moment and one drunk adventurer stands up and says "Oh yeeh? And wut'r you guna do 'bout it if we refuse?"The half-orc walks over to him silently, except the metallic clanging as he steps. The drunk says "I'm not 'fraid of you, I culd take you with..." The half-orc swings his arm straight down and clobbers him on top of the head, knocking him out instantly. There are gasps and whispers as the bodyguard carries him effortlessly with one arm by the belt to the door and throws him outside as you hear a loud crash of the drunk breaks his fall on several barrels.
Several others leave in such a hurry that they knock over their drinks.
Mr. Bolger looks around momentarily and continues, "As I was saying, you have been summoned here because the kingdom of Tarant has been having trouble protecting their ocean trade routes due to increasing pirate activity and suspected hostility by the nation of Dernholm. Your job is to rectify that. You will all be assigned to a vessel and captain of our choosing and will investigate the activity of the Dernholm navy while eliminating any pirates you encounter by any means necessary. If you happen to survive and obtain information about Dernholm, then you will be rewarded accordingly with gold or a choice of magical equipment. The gold and item selection depends upon the usefulness of the intelligence. Of course, any assets acquired from pirates or other hostile vessels will be yours, provided it is not Black Root or Tarant property.
I am obligated to say that in your contract, Black Root and Tarant is not liable nor responsible for you being injured or killed. Also, be warned, anyone who attempts fraudulent or hostile activity towards Black Root or Tarant will be hunted down and terminated. If you refuse for any reason, then you will be counted as absent and will no longer have employment opportunities with Black Root and are free to go. If you accept then you'll receive a dock number and will report there just after dawn tomorrow. If you do not show then this will result in seizure of your property and time in jail. Do not miss your departure.
Should you need to purchase supplies, the Pig Iron Piton has a decent selection. Please provide your letters so your contract can be finalized and if you have questions, I will answer them the best I can right now. If you're ready to sign up, give my bodyguard your letter and I will verify and sign it to keep in our archives in a moment. Questions?"
Leodel stands with his arm crossed as he rolls his eyes, looking quite bored. Then mutters something in Elvish under his breath.
Long winded old fool of a politician.
Several adventurers get up and leave, others sign up immediately then leave after Mr. Bolger gives them their dock number, while the rest sit quietly looking around the pub as if they're seeing if anyone else asks questions.
Elbowing Xander in the side, Ban whispers in elvish:
"Looks like they mean business, huh? Seems to be a lot of coin, treasure, and fancy things. Plus, who's gonna collect a debt on the water?"
Standing up, knocking back her hood, and brushing her hair aside, "Look, it sounds great and all, and I'm definitely interested, but it sounds like all payment is after the fact. What about expenses or equipment that will better help us aid the King? I assure you that I, and to a lesser extent my trunk-fiend here", she thumbs in Xander's direction while putting a foot on the large trunk, "will be great assets to the King, but I'm a little low on gold at the moment. Any way that you can help me out here so that we can better help you?"
"Praise be the King!" she states in an attempt to prove allegiance, tucking her left hand to her torso, her right behind her back, and finishes with a deep bow that reseats her cloak hood.

Xander will wait to see the out come and continues to drink as Ban tries to renegotiate our contract. Seeing the bartender mutter under his breath he will speak in Elvish.
"What's the deal with that short stack? Anything we should know or be caution about?"
Milo thanks for the gold he got. He seems to have been very happy with his story. And those who take a closer look will notice that they seem to enjoy the attention they have just received.
When the Halfling has finished talking, Milo moves to the Halfork " Good day Mister, my name is Milo Honeytounge. You probably heard of me. I have an invitation here as well and I'm really excited to start this adventure." Milo hands him the letter. "Sounds like i' will gonna get a lot of experiences on this trip, anyway. You must know I've never been on a ship, but I've heard a lot about it. And i'm about to write a new Chapter about Gilbert on the sea. Do you ever heard of Gilbert? He is my creation! Raphael silently walks up to the Orc, and hands him his letter, taking him in. While he proofs it and what not, Raphael would like to try and gauge how capable of a fighter he is.
Mr. Bolger says to Ban, "A good question. Your captain will have credit to purchase supplies for the ship and any extra equipment that you may need." Roll CHA/Persuasion to see if you can convince him to hand out some extra in advance.
Leodel hears Xander and ever so slightly leans towards him saying quietly in Elvish,
He's just a corrupt politician like all the rest. I've heard rumor the job and rewards are legitimate, but my gut tells me something else is at play here.
Mr. Bolger listens to Milo and then says to his bodyguard, "Take his paper, Sogg."Everything is looked over and Mr. Bolger says to Milo while still reading and signing it then adjusting his monicle, "No experience is necessary, most will have none. And no, I can't say that I have heard of it."He signs the paper and puts it in a small wooden box, "Everything appears to be in order. You're assigned to dock 4."
As you walk up to Sogg offer your paper, the muscles in his arm are obviously very large and well-defined and his entire body is tall and very burly. Mr. Bolger says to him, "Come on Sogg, get a move on." Raphael Insight result:
As Mr. Bolger proofreads and signs it, your knowledge of martial arts tells you Sogg has very fluid motions and has no wasted movements. In combination with that as well as being obviously physically powerful and knocking out the drunk earlier with one thump over the head, you can tell he is an elite level fighter.
Bolger says to Raphael as he places his contract in the box, "Dock 16."
Raphael takes the envelope back and gives a slow, deliberate nod back to Mr Bolger.
"Perhaps it's worth following these two to see where they decide to go later this evening." Raphael thinks to himself. "A so called politician surely doesn't need this kind of muscle... and what kind of sway does he have over this 'Sogg' to make him serve himself... I thought Orcs were quite a proud race." Raphael looks around at the rest of the party and takes note of Xander and Ban- the two more agile looking of the group. He walks back over to the bar and has a seat next to Ban.
Mr. Bolger briefly considers Ban's words then says, "Sorry, but handing out gold prematurely will likely result in multiple people skipping town. The credit given to your captain will be sufficient to cover any reasonable expenses."
The paper is filed from Raphael and given his dock number, "Dock 7." The same is done for Xander and is told, "Dock 1."
I will move it on a bit a little later to give everyone a chance to interact with Bolger if they choose.
