"I Knew the Tomb was Here!", Quiggley exclaims far to loud in the silence of the impending doom. "I searched that inn high and low for a secret door and it was the cellar the whole time!"
Becoming aware of the dire situation he Calls out. "Move! I can't see a thing. Paca play the song of the Hero!"
"Song of the Hero? What are you on about. I have never heard that before. Also, I can't see anything and I am pretty sure I am about to soil myself. This is literally the most terrifying thing I have ever experienced in my life. How are any of you calm and excited. Knight Feld, are you still here? What do you propose we do? You seem to be the most experienced of any of us.."Paca stands still, his nerves causing his entire body to shake. Luckily, nobody can see this in the darkness, a little pee comes out and dribbles onto the stairs.
As Praxius and Theo both relay their hesitance to venture further down, Rae also becomes privy to the threat the party was facing. Though she didn't have any, the yellow zora could feel all the hairs on the back of her neck rise. The sensation reminded her of her younger days back at Stormfist Shallows; of the time when she was separated from her clan and left to the elements of the Shallow's fierce waters. As Praxius pointed out the shade standing still in the room, Rae likened its presence to that of an overwhelming predator stalking its prey.
The zora fought off her primitive instinct to flee then and there, and spoke quietly to her allies, echoing Praxius and Theo's concerns, "That shade spells trouble. It's presence is unlike anything we've faced so far. Unless any of you seek an early grave, I strongly suggest we return to the surface."
Paca comes to his senses for a moment in a realization. "The hero, has a shade. A shade who protects the woods. Perhaps something similar is afoot here. Maybe the hero locked someone or something in here and this is the shade protecting it were something to harm it. Perhaps this is the heroes grave and the shade is protecting him. Either way, a shade is something not to be taken lightly. It will kill you should it deem necessary."
"Right. The first step in not getting dead is to open communication so we know what not to do. Which is why I say play a song that it would know. A song the hero would have played. Simply trying to leave through blocked doors will not get us out of here... And I believe there is a purpose,... A fate to us being able to get in here.", Quiggley will point out as he hovers waiting for some way to see or permission to cast another light. He will continue by providing, "The shade may not be able to speak in a way that we understand, but if we ask questions perhaps it would nod for yes and shake the head for no?"
Praxius stays stock still as the group behind him discusses the best way to proceed.
"I am not sure back is an option the way the door slammed of it's own accord behind us. Happy if one of you wants to check that, but it may be we have to move forward and find another way out", he says in a low whisper.
He moves his head slowly to one side and then the other, still matching it's gaze, seeing if the creature follows his movements as it stares at him.
"I would appreciate some haste with whatever we intend to do though, because this is quite unnerving".
"The first step in not getting dead, as you say, is to not mess around with things we know incredibly little about," Rae quietly rebukes Quiggley's enthusiasm to experiment with the shade, "Especially when those things far outmatch our own abilities, as that shade does. I find it hard to believe that this hero would hide something of import under an inn, and an even greater stretch to assume that the shade would mean well should we simply play it a tune."
The yellow zora begins to head back upstairs, gliding her hands across the wall to feel her way up through the darkness, "I have not come to these lands to sacrifice myself to curiosity or this land's politics for that matter. You all are welcome to try your hands and wits against the shade, but know that you are dancing with death itself. I shall try for the door above us once more. Mayhaps the men are still on the other side to open it for us."
Rae takes her leave. Should she make it to the door unimpeded, she knocks on the door and tries to call out to the other side, "Hello, is anyone still there? If so, open this door."
Quiggley feels for the wall as he attempts to hover over. He then casts Light on the wall so he can see. He is also ready to counter spell if something tries to use a spell to counter his light.
Theo blindly feels around in his equipment in the hallway and brings out his tinder box and a torch. He lights it, allowing everyone to be able to see in the dark. “There we go! Now I can see,” he says.
Praxius. First and foremost, with every movement you make the Shade does mirror it exactly. Following your movements to even the smallest detail, however you do notice that while it is only copying your movements, its gaze is no longer fixed on you. It watches the entirety of your party, as if it is waiting for someone to do something.
The moment Quiggley casts light on the wall, the shade vanishes into mist. Leaving nothing behind in its wake, the surrounding areas are once more lit and those without the benefit of darkvision are able to see. Knight Feld is as pale as a ghost, she is stuck staring at where the shade previously was. Her mouth agape unable to speak.
Rae, bang as you might on the door and yell as loudly as you can. It seems that either no one can hear you, or there is no one close by to hear you. Unfortunately the doors seem shut by a force beyond yourself, whatever this place is the only way out is now forward.
Quiggley and Paca,
Lizi is very still, she shares a moment with Quiggley as they both find eachothers gaze. "P-paca......I think thats the Heroes Shade.....we shouldnt be here."
Quiggley, something about the shade is VERY familiar to you. More familiar than anything you have encountered while searching for anyone who may know of you.

"Where did it go? No matter, I think now is the time to look for a way out. Lizi is extremely worried, she says we need to get out of here. Lets move" Paca will wait for a response from the party and then begin moving forward, looking for any path that may lead out. "Oh and now that I think of it. I do remember the heroes song. If that shade shows back up I will try and play it on my pan flute."
Quiggley staggers mid air as he hovers erratically rubbing his head as if in great pain. The silver scar that runs across his eye is no longer silvery pale but an inflamed red.
"Shade! My name is Quiggley. I feel a connection, but I have no memories of my extended past. If you know me and can understand me please reappear in the dimly lit area.", Quiggley will encourage.
Still reeling in the air Quiggley states out loud, "The child in green before the dying Deku Tree? De oi Lueth? I Don't Understand! I Don't remember! "
Quiggly falls from the air striking the ground falling upon it in a heap of wings and limbs. Per pairing as he shakely looks up and around.
"Paca is right", Praxius says as the shade disappears and he is freed up to move.
He spins about now he has more vision in the lit up area, and searches for a way to proceed, seeing Knight Feld dumbstruck. "Knight Feld, snap out of it!", he calls. As he does so he hears Quiggley call out, and sees him dropping to the ground.
He rushes over to help him to his feet, or his wings, whatever is needed.
"Take my hand, we need to move", he says, and if Quiggley does so he effortlessly lifts him back up.
Quiggley grabs Praxius' hand to be hauled back to his feet effortlessly, but it is surprising that the tiny Faerie and his gear weight close to one hundred pounds.
"Thank you!, but we need to know what that means; De oi Lueth? And who is the child in green by the Deku Tree? And why was the Deku Tree losing life force? This vision could be the shade trying to communicate. ",Quiggley replies still looking rattled and sweaty.
“I’ve never heard of that language, Quiggley,” Theo says. Finally able to see, he looks around the room. “And I’ve always heard that the Deku Tree is healthy. Maybe you had a vision from your past?”
Theo sighs. “Well, this definitely wasn’t what I expected when I came back to the city. I guess we should figure out how to get out of here.”
Paca will ask Lizi, "Do you understand those words Quiggley speaks? Also if you can help search for a way out that would be very helpful Lizi." Paca says in a panic.
As the door showed no sign of opening, Rae walked back down the stairs. She walked with one hand touching the walls while another hand out in front of her. As she made her way back down to the others she caught the end of Paca's request to Lizi. Rae interjected into the group's conversation, "Well, it seems the only way out is forward. It's beyond me why the guards above would lock us and Lady Feld down here with none of them volunteering to accompany a fellow knight. This all feels off to me; if there is suspicion of betrayal amongst the army's ranks as Praxius suggests then one can only wonder if locking us down here is part of a larger ploy. But pondering on it isn't getting us out of here so I'll set that topic to the side for now. Any luck on this end?"
"Do you know what, De oi Lueth, means? The phrase itself was a question. Theo thinks I am simply remembering things from my past. I think the phrase and a scene of a child at the Deku Tree were sent to me by the shade.", Quiggley asks Rae.
