Art calms down and then decides to get a move on so he walks over to the elevator and checks his pin, the time is 3:47 A.M. He gets into the elevator and asks, "So we ready to find this cult leader or what?"
(Btw I'm gonna be inactive for some time soon but I WILL return)
Nestor gave a slight nod and walked into the elevator slightly eyeing down Art to ensure all was still good with him.
(No bother at all on the inactivity, also I'm going to do an insight check on Art to try and get a feel of if they might be possessed due to speaking the Rebirths true name, so um rolled and that's a Nat20, but then +3 to make that a 23.)
Nestor slightly tilts his head over to Nathanael who is staring at him. "Well we best make our way onwards to figure this whole thing out. Oh and Nathanael I get that you might not like me with telling me to back off Art and all that but I got to say I like you doing this whole observing of me, always keep your eyes on someone you don't know as it's hard to trust anyone you just meet. You stick to keeping on eye on the folk you don't trust and you ensure they can't pull a fast one on ya so stay vigilant out there."
(Haha thanks, you guys are amazing as well I got to say. Also will say texting definitely helps, I've been known to stumble a few times over call or in person because of trying to think on my feet instead of having a few mins to come up with something. Also this is a character I hold dear to my heart and thus I've definitely gotten better at roleplaying him.)
(But in terms of how I feel I get better at rping a character is you take at least an aspect of yourself or something completely opposite to you because either then you already know a certain aspect of the character so you can easily build onto that or if it's the opposite way you act then you know better how to tone it down when you need to. Like say you play a sarcastic character but you aren't sarcastic at all irl, what ya do is think we'll in this scenario I would be very helpful to a person and this character is my exact opposite and thus they will be incredibly sarcastic here. Has worked out for me many a time, or if the character embodies something you want to be it's just easier to do it in an RP rather than real life. I have a barbarian character who is the embodiment of confidence, something I lack but through him I get in the mindset of what it means to be the opposite of me. Someone giant, powerful and charismatic. So in moments I would irl shy away a lot then in that moment my barbarian character is his most confident etc. Not sure if this helps but everyone has their own way of figuring out how to RP in their own ways.)
(I'm Glad you joined this campaign you make it more lively, that doesn't change Nathanael's opinion though [ his name Nathanael Panagos means God gives Blessings])
(One thing I find that can help with rping is the extremes, if you character has a major personality trait or a great fear play into that whenever you can and ramp it up at select times when it feels natural. For example Nestor is a very paranoid person, so Art hiding his hand instantly leads him to be suspicious of him but then in his personality he wants to get better at trusting people so he lets it slide, then he sees the statue and hears Art say the God's name very close together to the hand and instantly the paranoia wins and he lose that personality trait to be overcome with fear. Then he notices Nathanaels suspicion of himself which he likes and commends because he is also a paranoid person and especially in this moment. If Nestor had moments to trust Art more then you being suspicious of Nestor would still be considered a smart move by Nestor but his comment would likely more be something along the lines of "It's good to be wary but don't show it, trust is good to have if you can get it from others but never give your full trust to someone else." It's still showing his paranoia flaw but compliments his want to trust people personality trait a lot more. So the situations your characters go through can really help with rping certain aspects of your characters. Also glad to be here, has been really fun to be honest.)
(Been wanting to give the whole DMing a good old try, ran like two oneshots and they were definitely quite rocky to say the least. I definitely would need to prepare a little more than I did for sure to get proper into DMing. It is something I do want to get into more to try and encourage a few of my friends to get into D&D that's for sure. So just noticed it's 4:30am so gonna call it a night for myself today, shall pop back on after sleep. This has been really fun, really have enjoyed what we've done so far, night and chat soon.)
(Accidentally typed and sent something, can't find a delete button on here so just sending this message to say I miss clicked hence this message here.)
IM BACK! Okay so with that check of 23 you don't notice anything, cause Art isn't showing signs of possession other than a few minor symptoms, memory loss, inability to focus and nervousness but the nervousness is a unreliable factor due to literally everything else that's happening.
Yes you may, the room is around 235 feet long, 40 feet wide and 60 feet tall. When you enter the room the clock strikes 4:00 A.M, make a dexterity saving throw real quick

"Art!, calm down everything is fine"

"Right"
Nathanael Stares at Nestor with Suspicion
(Are you attempting to conceal your staring Mid_Knight_? Just want to check if my passive perception will notice being stared at.)
(no)
(Righty so then)

I Can't help it, your Roleplay is Extraordinary. How do you do it?

(I've played this character multiple times too, i just change his backstory, Oath, Stats, Spells, etc. it doesnt make it easier if it changes)

Nathanael and Company enter the next room, roll perception..that's a 3, can Nestor roll instead?
