"Oh goodness that looked like it hurt!" Mae turns to Kiersa and puts a hand on her shoulder and flashes a smile before uttering a quick word of healing (casting cure wounds at 2nd level for 17 healing to Kiersa). She then flips her bandore around and whips out her quarterstaff from her back, does a quick strum and (bonus action) casts Shillelagh, imbuing her staff with nature's power, making for the closest goblin in melee and taking a swing! (14 to hit, 11 damage)

The flames had nearly overcome Kiersa, but as Mae provides some healing, she can't help but return the bard's smile. "Thanks!" Despite feeling better, she still takes a moments concentration to fortify herself more to continue the battle. (Bonus Action: Second Wind - Heals 13 hp)
Facing the fire-breathing dog-like creature, Kiersa decided it needed to be dealt with. Hoping that it would take some time for it to be able to launch another such attack, she quickly moves forward to the creature, attacking it with her longsword. (Longsword Attack: 9 Damage: 7 slashing) (Longsword Attack: 23 Damage: 11 slashing)

Kiersa's strike brings the creature down! Sinking her blade through its skull, she shears off a large portion and kicks the remains to the earth.
As she does so, however, a warbling warcry roars toward you from the intersection in the road. More foes appear!
Four more hobgoblins, two of them seemingly better armed, and clearly of a higher caste or rank than these regulars you have been fighting, join the fray! Stepping through the trees close on the south side of the road, as these reinforcements enter the field, the others give a martial shout and draw their melee weapons, rushing to get close with their sharp blades! One of the two higher cast goblins, a priest of some kind, raises his staff and gives a guttural shout. A blade of fire appears over Kiersa's head and descends upon her with lethal intent!
Spiritual Weapon attack against Kiersa!
Attack: 19 Damage: 14
The hobgoblin in front of Mae attacks with his longsword!
Attack: 6 Damage: 2
Two of the hobgoblins use their actions to dash to get into melee with Valeria, crowding her around the boulder!
A remaining hobgoblin, accompanied by the other higher caste goblin wielding two short swords, step forward to engage Kiersa, Iravon and Dargath! The dual wielder assaults Iravon with a barrage of blows!
Attack: 19 Damage: 6
Attack: 24 Damage: 7
The other Goblin attempts to attack Dargath, unsure of the snarling beast in front of him!
Seeing more ambushers emerge from the treeline sent cold fury through Iravon. So many, for one small travelling party. Cowards!
As the priest summoned the fiery blade and sent it piercing through the air towards Kiersa, Iravon attempted to turn it away with his shield, hoping he could reach it in time.
Reaction: Protection - Disadvantage on the attack roll.
He didn't get long though, as a hobgoblin wielding two short swords stepped up to attack. He was able to draw back his shield in time to hold the first attack back, but the second sword passed through all his defences and pierced deeply into his gut before being removed. His mail began to turn red around the wound. Beside them Dargrath was cut down, a blade cutting through whatever matter he was made of, and as he stumbled and fell he faded away, as if he had never been. Iravon coughed blood at his attacker, and croaked a curse at him, "Maabet!".
Muttering, he prayed desperately. "Bargrivyek, give me the strength to defeat these cowards."
Action: Lay On Hands (self): 20hp from pool
He felt some life return to him. The blood oozing from his torso stopped, but the pain remained. Staring daggers at the hobgoblin leader, he spat, "Now, you will fall!" His flail, gripped tightly in his hand, began to hum and vibrate gently.

Seeing the situation getting desperate with another wave of attackers suddenly emerging out of the woods, Dargath slain and the others reeling from the attack, Valeria quickly ascends, carried by her winged boots up into the sky (15' up). She then calls upon the divine powers of her goddess to send a fiery star from the skies roaring down to blossom with a low roar into an explosion of flame as it hits the ground, engulfing several of the Hobgoblins in a divine inferno. "Behold the might of the Moonmaiden!" Valeria calls out from the skies.
(Cast flavored Fireball 40 Dex save 15 for half damage, centered to catch at least the two Hobgoblins in melee with Kiersa and Iravon and the ones standing right behind them, and if area of effect allows it also the spellcaster, if it is not more than 40' between the frontliners and the spellcaster. I assume it would be hard to catch the Hobgoblin in melee with Mae too without affecting any of her allies.)
She would then use remaining 15' of movement to fly and take cover in a tree 15´ up.

Lots of dex saves incoming! You catch 6 Hobgoblins (pardon my looseness with the term!) - the four in a clump in front of Iravon and Kiersa, and then the two in front of you!

Mae, you are up! There's a hobgoblin right in front of you!
Mae deftly dodges the longsword attack as her golden body begins to glow furiously. She chortles at the hobgoblin in front of her and takes a decisive swing with her quarterstaff at him! (9 to hit, 10 dmg) She then looks over at the ones crowding around Iravon and call out to him, sending a golden musical note to float around him! "Give it all you got Iravon!" (casting bardic inspiration: mote of potential. )
Ability Check. The Bardic Inspiration die can be rolled again - choose which roll to use.
Attack Roll. The target and each creature of your choice that you can see within 5 ft. of it must succeed on a CON saving throw (DC: 15) or take thunder damage equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die.
Saving Throw. The creature using the Bardic Inspiration die gains temporary hit points equal to the number rolled on the Bardic Inspiration die +4.

Kiersa very quickly glances over to see where Valeria went. She seems to be alright for the moment. So she focuses on the goblin wielding two short swords. She makes a broad, sweeping swing with her longsword then tries for a quick (Longsword Attack: 21 Damage: 11) (Longsword Attack: 21 Damage: 13)

Two direct hits! The Hobgoblin is still standing, and returns the favor to Kiersa!
Attack: 10 Damage: 6
Attack: 12 Damage: 9
The remaining Hobgoblin at the back, the spellcaster, screams out in his own tongue "Gaj Marlakh Uth-Lar! Te Kamram Anyid!"
Translation for Iravon:
Die well Uth-Lar! You shall be avenged!
With that, as a bonus action, the spellcaster makes an attack with his spiritual weapon against Iravon, after which he abruptly disappears with a small flash of light!

As the Swordbearer is distracted by Kiersa, Iravon swoops in, his flail flashing and humming, the heavy head empowered by the force of the Thunderous Smite spell (set up in the last turn). The shining mote that Mae conjured above Iravon's head flies down to join the flail as it swings.
Flail+Mote:19, damage 8 blg. (Mote: CON save DC 15 or thunder damage equal to the extra d8 roll in the attack.) Flail:20, damage 5 blg.
Thunderous Smite: On the first hit, additional 5 thunder damage, plus STR save DC 14 or pushed 10 feet. Thunder echoes for 300ft. Divine Smite: On the same hit, cast 1st level Divine Smite for 8 radiant damage.
So first hit does 11 bludgeoning, 4 thunder, 7 radiant damage = 22 dmg, plus 6 thunder if he fails the CON save. Second attack misses, hopefully won't need it.
The hobgoblins are wearing surprisingly well-made and durable chain shirts and shields, though their weapons leave something to be desired in non-goblinoid hands (oddly shaped longswords, some of them not particularly well kept). Feel free to loot, explore the area, rp, or continue on your way!
You all will also each gain 450 xp from the encounter! Kiersa gets an extra 25 xp for bringing down the hell hound (a major turning point in the fight!)
OOC: Pardon my haste - the remaining Hobgoblin in front of Mae, seeing its leader slain or gone, throws down its sword and starts backing away from Mae, fear written boldly across its face.
