"Ope. I can't stay, I have to go upstairs with them, I'll be back shortly" Marvin takes his tankard, and follows the group up the Nyral's room. "Let's not forget Kidra said there are some mental demons in the carnival"
"Yes, very good Marvin, let's not forget what Kidra said about mental demons at the carnival."Inquisitive said with a tired smile. "Anything else?" He said looking at Zanibi, Amy, Truador and Nyral.
Zanibi looks curious. "What in the world is a mental demon? Why did nobody mention this?" She shakes her head. "I don't think there's much else. I'd like to go through all of Elibyn's journals, but not sure what they'll show us."
Nyral walks with the rest of the group as they make their way back to the tavern. Nyral doesn't take down their detect magic. They keep the spell up and look from person to person they pass, trying to catch any sign of the unknown magic they spotted before in Elybin's house. The situation was unknown and although they didn't find anything to make them think their friend was in danger it didn't mean the culprit wasn't just targeting random people. Nyral wasn't sure if whatever effect it has would show on a target or not but it doesn't hurt to keep an eye out for magical influences. He may have little love for his Drow heritage but the ability to sense and see magic was one gift he was thankful for. It becomes exhausting after a bit but the walk to the tavern and a look around the patrons and the owners should be within his realm.
As they make their way into the tavern Nyral makes their way to the counter to order a drink. Nothing heavy as he knows he will need to talk about details in a moment. As The half-elf takes his order after he grabs her attention from Marvin and the coffee man (which he also checked for signs of magic). He gets a look at Alisa with his detect magic spell as she does. When she brings him a drink he thanks her "Thank you. Could you bring me something finer later? I am having some guest in my room tonight and would like something nice to share with them. I would invite you as well but I think most of my allies would prefer our meeting remain with the group. Perhaps another night? Though I won't press." He takes a sip of what she already brought him and hands her some money for the drink. He nods to her with a smile as he then makes his way to his room with the others. The room is as resplendent as he remembers and he wishes he was enjoying it rather then working on this case. He picks one of the sofas that seems comfortable and lays down on it as he listens.
As people in the group takes seats in Nyral's luxurious room Inquisitive began the meeting opening to a review of what everyone has learned. "I like to sum up the magical spell itself First, the spell as far as we can tell is not quick acting. It doesn't adhere to the standard schools of magic. It takes time. It's small and without checking the pillows where they sleep hard to detect. We discovered that the victims seems sick and see things or have nightmares at first with worsening condition. That in itself is an odd way to kill people. Like the spell is designed to kill in secret. I'm still vague on what happened to make everyone think murder suddenly instead of a plague or sickness. Could we find that out? I'm still wondering how it is getting onto the pillows too. We also found that Elibyn had nightmares before they went to the circus so its possible this was underway before the circus arrived." Nyral seems almost dismissive at first about a demon filled circus as they say "I am curious, what about demons at the carnival? I thought the completely trustworthy mayor said no reports of murders from the previous town?" Nyral sounds completely sarcastic with the last bit as he adds in a begrudging voice "I suppose it is possible he only heard of a strange sickness hitting the previous towns while the carnival was in them. We should find out if that is true or not."

Truador listens to Nyral before speaking, "We also need to consider that the spell on the pillows, and whatever caused the illnesses may by two different things. We also know that Elibyn started having nightmares three weeks ago. Does anyone know if the carnival was here at that time? If not, do we have any other suspects? Were there any other newcomers who came to this town at that time?" He looks at the rest of the group, " As Inquisitive said, we still need to find a motive. Even if the illness was placed upon the victims through the pillow curse, it was still a relatively slow, and painful death. This means that whoever did is responsible, wanted their victims to suffer. Why would someone want these particular individuals to suffer so much rather than just kill them and be done with it?"
"And what is this about demons? If there are demons here, those certainly could have been here before the carnival, even if they are currently residing in the carnival. Not to mention they could defiantly be the cause of an unknown type of magic."
Alisa meets your eyes as you hand her the payment, Nyral. She takes it and nods, taking a few seconds to count the money. "I'll bring it up to your room later, and leave it at the door. I wouldn't want to intrude on whatever important conversations y'all might be having." She serves you your drink, and Truador's, with a smile. She then faces you, Marvin, to add, "I understand, I'll be here for when you come back." Turning around to complete the order of coffee for the man, you take your drinks and leave.
Nyral:
With Detect Magic, the first thing you notice is the lack of that strange magic found on the pillows of the victims. The second thing you notice, is that the human clad in black is wearing a wireless headset, clipped into the belt of his trousers and slung around his neck. You've never heard of such a thing, wireless headsets? Absurd. It seems to be magical, however, as it radiates with an Evocation aura so strong that it hurts to look at. A powerful spell, one called "Group Telepathy," and it is currently in use via this headset.
With your drink, Alisa has somehow slipped a small piece of paper under the glass with the text, "Come to the bar to return your glasses when you're ready and we'll be there," on it.
Truador:
Though you can't see them very well, you have a gut feeling that they are nothing to worry about. Maybe they're working on something, maybe they're a group of cultists visiting the carnival. While you don't know their situation, you can tell that every one of these people in black are focused on something that is important to them, and that they won't cause any harm. It also looks like the man ordering the coffee is somewhere near the top of whatever hierarchy might exist within the group.

Noticing the men in black on his way to Nyral's suite Inquisitive commanded Redraziel to listen in on the group to find out who they are and what they are up to.
"I'm not sure the mental demons are a priority right now as it is merely a belief with Elybyn's neighbour Kidra, we'll just keep it in mind for now."Inquisitive said trying to tone down the importance of this particular piece of information. "But yes, the victims seems to have had nightmares for some time, likely before the carnival arrived, but the coachmare spell could still be the cause of death as well as intensifying the nightmares. And I fully agree with you Truador, the killer wanted them to suffer, likely to punish them for something hidden in their past. We just need to keep digging until we find the connection."He said pacing the room slowly with his hands on his back, stopping and looking at the others as he finished. "Now, any objections to my suggestion on how we proceed with the investigation in the morning?"
You give the command and Redraziel immediately complies. It finds a large group of them---around 30 or so---in a room a couple of doors down. A few are trying to nap on the beds, others are piled up on top of each other and giggling, and others still are sitting in various corners of the room and talking.
"When in the world is Rori getting back with our coffee? We can't be late to bananas." "Bananas? Are we doing that tonight? I thought it was only on opening night. We didn't do it last night." "Well you were in the bathroom the first show and you were distracted by a farm dog the second so you missed it; we only do the stage lay on opening and closing night."
It moves to another group, all piled on a bed. A satyr, a changeling, and a fairy.
"Where'd the sound guys go?" asks the fairy. "One of the carnies blew on a mic too hard and broke a speaker," replies the satyr. "Damn carnies. Almost as bad as actors." "Yeah, and they get all the applause. Anyways, wanna go over cues? I still need help with green hair." "I'm down. I'm spot one, you're spot two, and Jess, you're spot 3. Spot one, go. Ladies and gentlemen, blah blah blah... Standby spot two." "Spot two on standby."
It sounds like they're running through some kind of script.
Redraziel, noticing that there is an open door connecting this room to the one next, flies into the other room. A half-orc is lying face-down on the bed over the covers and snoring. There is no one else in the room. The imp feels as if nothing of importance is going on, but decides to stand watch either way.

She then heads to her room. Once there she will take some time to go through the box with Elibyn's old letters and journals. Once she has finished with those she will get to sleep.

After receiving a reply the drow will take the bottle of fine wine he ordered and return it down stairs as well as request delivered breakfast and meals for the morning. When she approaches and if he feels no one is listening he will pass her the empty bottle and quietly ask her "Do you know if anyone close to you or your sister has been having frequent nightmares? He wanted to make sure they knew what to look for and what the signs of someone being attacked were. He also has other concerns but otherwise seems to just be waiting for confirmation it was safe to talk. He needed to ask them a few questions to rule out things but he was already feeling better having not found any connections at Theymoor's place.
Truador watches the others leave then looks to Nyral. "Would it be alright if I stayed the night here for now?" The man in black is still at the counter, and seems to be speaking into his headset microphone. "No, you can't abuse the system, Kylin, this is for shows. Only. Now, stop pestering me for the coffee, she just finished. 15 cups is a lot, you know." He seems preoccupied with whatever is going on with the headset, but just to be sure you sit well away from him. The only other person in the room is Marvin, who is currently nursing a tankard of ale by himself at the far end of the bar. Alisa finishes the coffee order, gives the cups to the man. He thanks her profusely, casting something. He piles the cups onto an invisible platform, and disappears up the stairs after thanking her one more time. She walks up, and takes the bottle from your hand. "Guess everyone left early? I haven't gotten the other order ready yet." She silently waits until you finish, picking up a glass and wiping it clean with a rag. "Nightmares? No. I haven't had any for weeks, and neither has Maggie." She flicks her eyes sideways, a sign you know means, If you want to talk more, come to 13. She raises a single eyebrow, waiting for a sign of yes or no from you.
