Zanibi decides to wait downstairs as Inquisitive heads up and Truador speaks to the barkeep. She'll casually watch the black clad people as she waits for the others. (Perception: 5)
Nyral seems ready to go and having just recently finished getting cleaned. The drow still has some wet hair from using the bath but clothed and seems about rrady to leave. As Inquisitive shows up he looks over and says "Ah, Inquisitive. Perfect timing. I was just about to head to the library to meet up with you all. Is it just you or is everyone here? Sorry I got held up a bit but I overheard something in the tavern that distracted me a bit. There is someone that was just staying here that was showing all the signs and symptoms as the other victims. However, their friends moved them somewhere."
"That is disturbing news."Inquisitive said grimly, turning to head downstairs again, motioning for the drow to follow. "Did you pick anything up about this person apart from what you mentioned? Which symptoms exactly for instance?"He asks on his way down the stairs.
"All ready for a night at the carnival?"The tiefling said with a quick smile as all were gathered down in the taproom, looking in turn at Zanibi, Truador and Nyral.
"Nightmares, sickness, weakness. The whole things. One hiccup.... it's possible they and their friends are vampires that work for the carnival. I was able to track down that one of them is staying here." When back down with the rest of the group Nyral waves to the others and nods to Quiz. "Yeah, might want to check on my lead just before but other then that lets go."
(Totally forgot you posted that Perception check, sorry! Here we go.)
They're all perched at the bar. Listening intently, you can hear them ordering a lot of coffee and raw meat from Alisa at the counter. One seems to be wearing a headset---though where it connects to, you can't see---and is speaking into it intently, telling it to "wake up." As Alisa goes to take their orders, they stay relatively quiet afterwards.

"Yes, your lead, did you want to follow up on that now?"Inquisitive said with a hint of impatience. "Perhaps we should go back up to your suite and go through what you have found out?"
Truador leaves the bar and joins the others. After listening to Nyral he says in a calm voice. "This lead is showing the same symptoms as the others? In that case the carnival can wait. We need to find this person quickly lest they suffer the same fate as the others."
"I was hoping you all might back me up. They work the night shift so might not appreciate being woken up early. I think I know which room they are in. Hopefully we can find something concrete to act on. At the very least, we might be able to save someone afflicted by the same symptoms. Supposedly they go by the name Nova. The one we are talking to is their friend Cat." Nyral will lead the way to the room he was able to find out about that Cat is supposedly staying at.
"Of course we'll back you up Nyral, we're a team."Inquisitive said firmly and nodded, then following the one-armed drow. "Perhaps you could fill us in on how you know they are vampires and how that in itself is not a great concern for us and the town."He suggests as they ascend the stairs.
Truador looks at Inquisitive, "Not all who suffer from a curse are dangerous, perhaps they have learned to control their inner demons. It certainly seems that way, seeing that they are working for a carnival, and we no one here seems upset about them." With that he follows Nyral to the room.
"Are these the black-clad people we've seen about? I heard them ordering while downstairs. The coffee was normal, but raw meat seemed strange," Zanibi states.
You arrive at the door that is supposed to belong to this lead, Cat. Knocking once on the door doesn't do anything. A second knock produces the same result, but on the third knock the door is opened by a particularly pale-looking halfling woman. The bags under her eyes, sleep clothes and hair that is stuck up in all places suggests you just woke her up. "Hello? Do you need anything?" She rubs the last remnants of sleep from her eyes, but soon enough they grow wide with alarm. "Wait, did something happen to my crew? Did an actor touch the sound system again? Did they break a prop?" She looks up at you bunch (she wasn't exactly looking in your direction this whole time) and sighs. "Oh, hey. Do I know you? Is everything okay?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Nyral having knocked nods to the pale halfing and says "Hello mam. Sorry for waking you. Actually, yes, we have seen each other several times around here. I am in the room just over there." He points to the room that is next room down from hers. "I understand you work nights but I felt this was urgent as I have been on the lookout for people showing signs of a curse that has been being used on folks around the town. The symptoms include hallucinations, persistent nightmares as well as several other symptoms. I was led to believe you might know someone that has been showing many of the symptoms of this."
Nyral tries his best to examine her for signs of vampirism like a lack of breathing or other such signs that she might belong to the undead. He also tries to get a read on how she takes this information. He purposely did not say the name of the individual he learned was being affected to see if she would try to hide them or not. He also left out other bits of information like how it affects people from the pillow or when sleeping. He did not give a detailed list of symptoms preferring her to fill in the rest her had heard about herself. he even left out the part about it being deadly planning to add that if she claims to not know anyone with those symptoms.
"If you do know someone showing signs of this it is important we find them quickly. If we are mistaken we will of course apologize for the disturbance and you can go back to sleep."
Nyral is attempting to make it look like the information they have is shaky on purpose so that she can easily brush it off if she doesn't want people looking into this. Goal being to describe enough there would be no mistake who he was seeking but vague enough she can avoid discussions or people looking into their associate being affected. Essentially, if she's involved somehow or trying to hide something about the person reported to him he will catch her in a lie.
"Well I wasn't aware we had vampires staying at the inn, a whole group of them it seems then, and maybe no one else is aware either, should at least keep us wary around them until we're sure about their intentions."Inquisitive answered Truador on their way upstairs.
The tiefling glances down with some surprise as the door opens and the vampire turns out to be a halfling, but he says nothing, letting Nyral do the talking, for now.
"Ah, a neighbor! What's up?" She gives you a big, toothy grin, and it definitely looks like she has fangs. For the most of the time you talk to her, she just nods and gives you an occasional interjection---"Oh," and "Sure," mostly. Her eyes wander around the group, looking at everyone's clothes, shoes, faces, and hands as you talk. And when you're done she's still silent, but after a while she nods. "Yep. One of my crew members has something like that. A curse, is that what it is?" She bites her lip as the informations sinks in. "You said you're looking for people showing those symptoms? Why?"
Nyral:
She is definitely a vampire. Fangs, pale skin, no sign on breathing whatsoever. You can feel some sort of hesitancy to tell you details about Nova, but you don't feel like she's hiding anything important from you. Just cautious. And she has no idea that you're keeping some key details from her.
Truador:
It looks like she's a little hesitant to tell your group all the details. But it's not any kind of malicious hesitancy, if that makes sense, she's just being cautious.

"There have already been three others with those symptoms. All of them are dead."Truador says in his calm deep voice. "If one of your crew members has it, they may not live much longer unless we can do something about it. Up to this point, the village thought it was just some kind of sickness, but after the third one passed, they think it's foul play. Someone is putting curses on people." He pauses. "Your crew member is being moved, yes? I suggest you dispose of their current pillow. We know at least part of the curse has been placed on the victim's pillows, so getting rid of that should help at least a bit." He stares down at Cat, "You must let us see them, we cannot help from a distance. And if you or anyone else know anything, we need you to tell us. Vengeance cannot find them without more information."
As Truador mentions the pillow, Zanibi quickly says, "I'd like to take a look at that pillow if you don't mind!" She then adds, "I could also try to remove the curse - although it's an unusual thing. Not sure if it'll work or not."
"That he did." Truador, "I'll ask the barkeep."
Walking over to Alisa, Truador asks, "Do you know where Nyral went, the dark one with only one arm?"
Zanibi decides to wait downstairs as Inquisitive heads up and Truador speaks to the barkeep. She'll casually watch the black clad people as she waits for the others. (Perception: 5)
