(ooc: I'm gonna say you hand it off to Nyral or Zanibi. Whoever wants it.)
Truador:
(I'm also gonna say that Nyral sees it, but no one else.)
"Oh." Boots look thoroughly bothered, resigning with a sigh.
"Wow. That makes a bit of sense. What pack?" Apollo is trying to make small talk, but you can see he's clearly been caught off guard.
"Man... This jerky's... chewy." The Cattle dog barks between bites. "I though you had... a bit of... wolf in you. Thanks for the jerky... by the way." He swallows, licking his chops and yawning. "I'm Grey. And you?"
Nyral:
This isn't the most important thing, but you see Truador pull out a necklace of some sort as he's talking to the dogs.

"Yes, my pack raised me in the woods a few day's journey from here. They... are no longer there."Truador has a far off look in his eyes for a moment, then he looks at Grey and smiles, "I'm called Truador. And your welcome."He looks to the group, "Do you all patrol this area often? Or do your Alpha's like to keep you close?"
"I'm so sorry to hear that," Apollo shakes his head. "It's nice to meet ya, Truador." The other two mutter a quick 'nice to meet you.'
"I don't belong to no one. No sir." Growls Boots, pawing at the ground a little. "I am a free dog! Free, you hear? Free!"
"We're the town's dogs, more than anything else. We don't like in a single home, but all of the farmers give us food, a place to sleep, and work to do if we stick around for a bit," Grey explains. "There are a few more dogs around the town, but they normally belong to one household."

At Inquisitive's suggestion, Zanibi adds a few items to the whiteboard. But she interrupts her work. "So where are we exactly on this? All three of these deaths seem to have come from the same unusual spell. So how do we find the spell caster? Or even learn about who it might be? Has anyone popped into the town library?" she asks.
"Not in a very long time"Marvin pipes up to Zanibi asking if anyone had been to the library. "I use to do quite the reading back in the day, I will gladly head over to the library if needed. What would you like me to look up?" He pauses for a moment "mind you, there are no real tomes of magic in the library here."
Inquistive listened and nodded. "No, the library has yet to be visited I think, perhaps we should continue to work in groups. Could Marvin take Zanibi and anyone else who wants to read up on magic, nightmares and war history to the library while I interview Tare Shadowdancer and then proceed to the carnival together with the rest of us?" He suggested, looking at the others for thoughts while glancing over at the chalk board.
"It is good to meet you as well," Truador replies.
"I see, so you are your own Alphas," He smiles, "It seems that this town is in good paws. I am glad to hear that they treat you well."
"Now, I am sorry to bring this up, but the reason I am here is because of the murders. Do any of you know anything about them? My friends and I are worried that if we do not catch the killer soon, they may find another victim. Any help you can give would be much appreciated."
"Oh, right." All three dogs shift in place, and Grey gives a whiny yawn. "We don't know much. I was really close to Elibyn before she... you know. I don't know much about the others, but I've heard of them."
"Boots and I would help the Shadowdancer folk with some work," Apollo pipes up. "We were there when he first got sick, and tried to make him feel better. But I couldn't smell any sickness on him, which was strange."
"But the smell of everything else got too strong for us to handle, even with Tare cleaning the house constantly. So we left." As Boots says this, you notice she's not looking at you anymore, but down at the cobblestone floor. "We haven't heard of anything else since the last death."
"Is there anything you think we should watch out for? I want to help as much as I can and let all the other canines in the area know. Bark it from the rooftops, if I have to."

"Hmm yes, being unable to smell the sickness makes sense. We have pretty much confirmed that it was caused by a some kind of magic. We've found that each of them had a curse placed on their pillows, we know that it caused nightmares, but we are not completely sure if it is what actually killed them."
He notices Boots, "Do not feel ashamed, there was nothing you could have done. All that there is to do now is avenge them."
"Calda mentioned seeing and being followed a strange woman in her journal. We are fairly certain that this woman was not a hallucination. If you see any strange women stalking anyone, let me know immediately."He pauses, "Actually, if you see anyone stalking anyone notify me as soon as possible. And yes, the more eyes, ears, and noses we have on this case the better. You can let them all know where I am staying."
He gives them a description of where Nyral's room is so that they can bark at the window if need be. "If I am not there, I'm sure you will be able to sniff me out."
"Magic? That doesn't sound good," Grey huffs. "Wait, can you smell magic? Is---is that a thing?"
"Magic and stalking. Got it. Would it be too much to say we'll let you know if anyone gets sick as well? Cause I know you," Apollo looks at Grey, then back to you, "mentioned that Elibyn was really sick as well."

"Hmm, I'm not really sure. One of my companions can sense magic, but I've never heard of anyone being able to smell it."Truador says thoughtfully, "Yes, definitely notify me if anyone starts showing symptoms similar to Elibyn and Thaymoor's.
"So, the library doesn't have any books about arcane things? I was just hoping to find something about this Couchmare spell," Zanibi replies to Marvin. "We don't need spellbooks specifically, just something that might touch on unusual types of magic." She frowns a bit as she says it, "Might be a long shot."
She finishes putting up her own notes on the whiteboard. "Ok. Anyone else? If anyone has established a timeline that would help. Any information from talking to the therapist? Did we find Jez?"
"Nothing relevant from the therapist other than what I mentioned earlier, and we haven't located Elibyn's wife Jez yet, not quite sure how we would do that but I'm open to suggestions."Inquisitive said, looking over at the chalkboard.
"I think that sounds like a good plan Inquisitive. We are still waiting on Truador. He got held up with something. If you want, why don't Marv and Zanibi head out to see if they can find anything at the library. It sounds like we won't have much luck about the spell itself but perhaps you can find something historical to tie these families together? Perhaps there was some event that involved a few seemingly separate families that all fled here? Something that happened out of the ordinary for refuges fleeing. I would say around 16 to 18 years ago. As Calda was a child during the time her parents left to come here. Maybe some kind of outbreak of what people thought was a disease during the time but perhaps there is some who reported something else other then a sickness." The drow adds a few things to the whiteboard of their own like list of symptoms of the spell and what they know of how it functions.
Seeing that Truador still has not shown up the Drow offers "While you talk with Tare. I can wait here for Truador to show up. I'm kind of hungry anyway so I'll go down to order some food as I wait for him. Once he gets here I will let him know the plan and we can just wait here until you are done talking with Tare or we can come up and join you."
Inquisitive turned and nodded at Nyral. "Yes, you do that, I will be back here as soon as I have spoken to Mrs. Shadowdancer." He said and left the luxurious suite to make his way downstairs to the bar. "Excuse me, I believe you have a Mrs. Shadowdancer staying here. I'm investigating the death of her husband and would need to find her for a short interview." The tiefling said with a firm but polite tone to the person attending the bar.
"I'll keep my nose out for it, anyways," Grey says with a wink. "And we'll definitely let you know if we find anything."
"I think it would be best to see if we can start telling the other hounds right now, actually." Boots stands back up, sighing.
"Yeah, I'm sure you've got some very important stuff to talk about with the rest of your... group. Where'd they go?" Apollo looks behind you, to the empty space where the party once was. Looks like they've left to Nyral's room without you.
Upon walking out of Nyral's room, Inquisitive, you see Maggie balancing a tray of sandwiches---the lunch you ordered previously. (I'm assuming you all take a pause and eat before moving on.)
You approach Maggie again on the ground floor of the inn/tavern and she nods her head, listening intently to your request. "I'll go check on her, see if she's in the right headspace to be interviewed by y'all. I'll be right back." She steps out from behind the bar and disappears up the stairs, only to return a few minutes later. "She says she's all good to go. Eager, actually. Room 126, up the stairs on the first floor." She gestures the directions to you as she explains. "Down the hall on the right side."

Truador looks behind him and laughs, "It seems they have. Ah well, it's probably for the best. They are likely discussing what they found. In any case, I best be on my way. Thank you all for your help. I look forward to seeing you again." He stands up and begins to leave. "I'll try to have something tastier than jerky next time we meet."
After bidding farewell to the dogs, Truador makes his way back to the tavern. Seeing the rest of the party, he says. "Sorry I'm late, I got a bit... distracted. What is the plan now."
Zanibi glances over at Marvin once she's had a chance to quickly eat some lunch. "Well Marvin, I guess you can show me the way to the library. Sounds like we won't find much on the arcane but it's worth a try. Oh yes, and Inquisitive wanted a review of war history and then also of nightmares!" She shakes her head. "I'm sure that will only take an hour or so and we can move on."
"Absolutely, I would love to show you to the library. We can definitely check out war history, I'm sure the library should have something on that." He continues listening as Zanibi speaks "I don't think we'll find anything on the arcane, but we can give it a double look."Marvin thinks to himself "I also hear there are some very fascinating reads by a Mr. Ivan as well."
