Sam smash puny Redcap! Sam whacks away with his maul at the remaining Redcap looking to put it down for good and hoping the commotion hasn't yet caused any unwanted attention.
Maul Attack #1: Natural 1 plus 10 for an 11to hit. 15 Damage, not that it'll matter :)
Maul Attack #2: 27to hit. Damage 12. And the Redcap is knocked 5' up into the air via the Crusher feet, just 'cause it is an amusing visual...
TO Vin it seemed like things were working well with his plan so far. He was far too nervous to say it out loud for fear of jinxing it though. As Redcap after Redcap was dispatches all within the matter of a few seconds of Vin and his group catching them by surprise. As they all work in tandem to take out the redcaps their numbers dwindle until there is only 1 left. It's a bit far away but that was why Vin was focusing on the ones afar so they could coordinate taking them all out in one swoop. Vin gathers his magic into his hands once more. A ball of energy in each hand and he aims his palms towards the remaining redcap to unleash a pair of magical blasts at them
Eldritch Blast 1: 10 Damage: 8
Eldritch Blast 2: 12 Damage: 12
Like a shadow of black fur and teeth Nef wil attempt to get to the last one as well. It might be just with her reach as she can move a bit faster then the others. With Vin blasting the last Redcap if Nef can get to them she will add a pair of lethal bites as she tries to snap her teeth around it's neck.
As Sam thunders past the fallen redcap and towards the last, he throws his maul bloody end first with tremendous force, at the same time Vin throws his two balls of energy, one cascading off wildly into the town whilst the other meets Sam's maul in the air and appears to energise the speeding maul, both hit the redcaps at the same time with a sickening crunch and the redcap takes a step back its mouth opens and blood begins to pour onto it's dirty white beard, until Neferox unceremoniously bites the rings head clean off its body. This redcap too seems to empty of the blood that was stored in its head, the excess splashing onto the snow and running off the roof down into the open air arena of the trade post building.
It is at this point that the group, satisfied with their surprise attack begin to look around. Those in the group with darkvision would notice that the two redcaps guarding the door on the south side of the roof have taken notice. One begins it's journey running along the roof top clockwise, it's iron boots clamouring against the rooftop as it goes, it raises it's sickle in the air and screeches a high pitched war cry, but further into town that cry is frowned out by the battle with the trees. The second redcap oddly leaps off the building, and into the arena, it's heavy metal boots keeping it upright in the air it lands with a thud and a wobble of its bulbous head and it begins running over directly toward where the group is, albeit at ground level.
Running to retrieve his maul, Sam scans the immediate area and sees no other targets. He does, however, see those across the chasm starting to move. "Ok, people... Time to move!"
In particular Sam is thinking about Órga guarding the door all alone... Time to go and get his friend and move up the other stairwell.
As Muir peers over the edge he sees the 2 Redcaps trying to escape. He reaches into his bag and squeezes 7 small thorns as he speaks in druidic and casts spike growth. The spikes grow around the oddly moving blood hoping to catch both Redcaps as they move that way. He calls Hirsi to him with a look of disappointment "Now is the time to provide guidance and not running into battle swinging your weapon like a wild hare. Let us duck down and watch for other Redcaps. If they approach we will do our best to end them as well."

"You know, I can much better appreciate that whip of yours from this distance," Gewyn whispers jokingly to Muir. Hearing boots incoming, Gewyn picks up a sickle from a nearby fallen redcap and parrots back the redcap war cry in an uncannily similar voice that well suits his current appearance. He raises his new weapon in the air as if in solidarity with the approaching enemy, but behind his back he holds a dagger, poised to strike.
Deception: 30
Movement: 15 feet in the direction of the redcap on the roof.
Bonus Action: Bardic Inspiration 1d8 to Muir
Readied action: Attack on the redcap if it comes next to him
The broken redcap that Muir had previously cast from the roof stops in its tracks as it tries to drag it's broken body toward the pool of blood, the unseen attack also slows the secondary redcap on its way to intercept as they meet, it wretches in pain and looks around before continuing to try to assist it's fallen comrade.
Meanwhile on the roof, Gewyn gives a warriors greeting to the redcap on its way to the group, it shouts out in common as it continues running around the roof of the arena, "I'll help you take the bloodbags, we can get more for the nests! What are you doing? They are behind you!" It addresses Gewyn as a comrade at this moment.
Gewyn motions urgently with his hand for the approaching redcap to stop talking. He turns to face his companions and says "Ah, here comes a comrade of mine who, like me, is sympathetic to the cause of the bloodba- the peoples of this land. We do not need to worry about him getting close and trying to stab any of us in the back." The performance is ham-fisted enough that anyone familiar with Gewyn hardly needs to see the wink he adds in to know he is putting on a show for the redcap at the moment. Then he turns back to the redcap and tosses a wink its way as well.
He points a finger at his brain, crosses his eyes and lets his tongue hang out, mocking the intelligence of those behind him. Then he waves the redcap over and subtly mimes stabbing Muir in the back.
Nef seems to growl a bit at the pool in the center and this grabs Vin's attention. He looks down at the pooling of blood and how the Redcaps are trying to make their way to it. Vin says to the others "Don't let them get to that blood!" With that he gathers some fiery magic all with the intent of increasing his chance to stop what might be happening. He says a powerful incantation that might make some people's ears hurt to listen to. "Я выклікаю агонь старажытнага пякельнага духу." As he says the incantation fire forms in his hands and a set of 4 blasts of fire streak out towards the two redcaps heading to their goal. He will try to take out the one that seems closet to reaching the blood first then focus on the next one.

Elthana sees that Gewyn and Muir have the one on the roof occupied and is about to turn and follow Sam when she hears Vin yell. She pulls out her new longbow and starts heading down, firing her arrows..
Neferox takes a spectacular leap off the roof and lands near the broken redcap, moving to devour it, she yelps slightly as she encounters some resistance from the ground but it does not slow her too much as she meets the creature and kills it quickly, it's head exploding like the previous ones.
The pool on the floor ripples slightly in anticipation.
The second redcap within the arena, who moved in from the south edge takes every single one of Vin's flaming bolts. It body becomes engulfed in flame as it watches it counterpart explode. Writhing in agony the flaming Redcap gives up on trying to help it's now dead comrade and instead turns toward the pool, but can make no move before two arrows strike it right through it's disgusting head and it collapses, a spray of flaming globules of blood erupt from it like a volcano of gore, splattering in every direction.
The redcap on the roof doesn't slow, it finally gets to within 60ft of the group as it sees it's comrades fall, there is panic in its face as it decides what to do, but as Gewyns words settle in, it lifts it's arms up as one would do when calming an animal, "hey hey, yeah my uhhh.. comrade here, I'm just like him! People of the land and all that, great that you slew those invasive brethren of mine hmm? Why don't we find a nice place to put ahmm.. to show you, yes come see a nice building near the fire yes?" It rasps more to the group than Gewyn, however it's attempt at deception is clearly seen through as the greedy lust for blood in its eyes is evident.
The pool now begins violently splashing around, in pulses, it appears that some of the flaming blood had been thrown across its surface and now something is different. It stinks of sulfur, even to the degree that Sam and Órga can smell it in the building below.
As the thrashing reaches a climax as the pool looks to be rising from the ground, forming shapes that take up more and more of the volume of liquid until no more liquid is left in the pool, all that remains is ten small vaguely humanoid shapes, their hats thin and pointed, their skin slick, and vibrantly red. The redcap on the roof looks over at this and gives a small harsh chuckle.
The humanoid shapes then begin a mad dash toward where neferox stands meeting her in melee range quickly, a blood curdling scream coming from each of their newly formed mouths

Elthana watches in horror as the beings start emerging from the blood pool. How was this even possible? What were these things... is this how the redcaps started? Well, she thinks, this is how they are going to end. And she notches her arrows in her longbow and let's them loose... firing at the one closest to Nef first.
Elthana's new weapon proving more useful than she first expected, her arrows fly true, both striking at one of the creatures but not felling it, barely slowing it down.
Sam is rushing down the stairs ot Órga not wanting him to face a rush of Redcaps Sam had feared may be heading towards them. Sam's plan was to defend the door with the lion so that his teammates above couldn't be attacked from behind... But hearing the screams makes him reconsider. "What you think?" Sam asks Órga. "Should we go out and see what the todo is all about?"
Órga gives a small roar in reply which is a really noncommittal reply.
"Bah!" Sam retorts.
"Hold here or go out and engage?" Sam screams up the steps to his fellows hoping for guidance on just what was going on outside...
Seeing that the situation has just expanded and his allies are preoccupied with a bigger threat Gewyn realizes it is time for him to take matters into his own hands. He loops the sickle on his belt and starts slowly reaching for his pipes, with his new dagger palmed in his other hand.
Gewyn whispers as the bloodcap gets closer, "The bloodbags they use for fighting are even dumber than I'd thought. They just believed everything I told them without a second thought." Then he reaches out and pats the redcap on the back. "Let's bring the pain." He whips the pipes to his lips and blows a piercing, discordant microtonal chord, causing a gnawing feeling of unease to spread from where his hand with the palmed dagger touches the redcap.
He flips the dagger into a ready position and pipes twice loudly as a signal to his allies.
Action: bestow curse Wisdom DC 16 (If cursed, will have to make a Wisdom save each turn or be unable to do anything)
Bonus action: Mantle of Inspiration
As a bonus action, spend one use of Bardic Inspiration to grant 8 temporary HP to up to 5 creatures you can see and that can see you within 60 ft. Each creature can immediately use its reaction to move up to its speed, without provoking opportunity attacks.
Gewyn, Muir, Vin, Elthana and Hirsi all feel their bodies swell with adrenaline as the magic from Gewyn's pipes fill their vitality and grant them reactionary speed.
The Redcap straightens up a little as if doused with cold water, but the curse does not take root as Gewyn moves past the redcap sandwiching the lone soldier between the group and Gewyn himself.
The clamour of the creatures below rises in volume as they smash into the side of the cattle arena.
Waiting for direction from the others, Sam looks at Órga and decides, for now, it's best they just stay ready for anything... "Attack anyone not with us," Sam instructs as if the lion can fully comprehend.
Órga rolls his eyes and lets out a bit of a chuff at the obviousness of the instruction. Though he was kind of impressed that the Half-Orc almost seemed to fully comprehend the situation.
Órga readies to circle the room and pounce on any unfriendlies. Sam readies a nice heft swing of his Maul at any foes who happen to come within range...

Muir watches the Redcap confused by Gewyn's antics and instructs Hirsi to focus her attacks on the Redcaps below near the large pool of moving blood. Produce Flame: Attack: 24 Damage: 3
The blood pool, now a swarming mass of creatures approaching, move so confusingly that Muir's flame fizzles and dies in the mud beneath their feet.
Hirsi gathers some snow from the roof, forming it into a dagger like shard with her druidic magic, she launches it towards the mass of creatures. The ice knife too misses, but whilst sinking into the mud it explodes peppering three of the creatures with icy shards. The creatures now at the wall of the arena begin to climb, seemingly ignoring Neferox.

Vin seeing this swarm of little monsters figures its best to hit an area rather then individuals. The young man focuses his magic on a spot in the swarm trying to hit as many as he can by creating a five foot cube of roaring flames. The instant bonfire sprouting into existence at the front of the swarm both catching as many as Vin can aim his spell and creating an obstacle to make it harder for these things to get up to them.
Cast Bonfire - Dex save DC 16 on initial targets and any that end turn in or enter the fire: 10 fire damage on failed save.
Neferox seeing the tiny creatures going up the walls towards Vin was about to blast them all with their heat breath but seeing Vin creating 5 foot cubes of fire it seemed best to the hound to save that for the next threat. Instead they seem focused on mauling as many of the little murderous creatures as they can. Biting as many as she can and perhaps getting a snack on the way if they taste good.
