Vin casts bonfire at the bottom of the building catching and burning the feet of three of the creatures as they pile up beginning to climb. Oddly as most of the creatures pass Neferox not giving her a second thought, the one that she manages to bite at stops, deep wounds in its abdomen begin pouring liquid out, it attacks Neferox back lunging at her with a dark curved blade.
(23 to hit, 12 slashing. Missing with its two other attacks)
Up on the roof, Iver and his two guards make no hesitation as Gewyn helps distract the now lonely redcap, they close the gap quickly and all three begin attempting to hack and slash at the bulbous mushroom man. Each of the guards has better luck this time each managing to cut, slash or cleave at the redcap, (20dmg) which in return sweeps around at Iver with it's sickle. (8dmg).
As the nine of creatures climb the side of the building their bladed feet cut deep into the wood, from inside Sam sees the inside of the ground floor corridor being cut and splintering in.
Four of the creatures get to the roof, Three of them peel off to the floor just below and as the group of creatures separate out, two of them burst through the ground floor wall, smelling around they head off towards Sam, he watches them race towards him but they do not reach him just yet.
Two of the creatures now on the roof rush Elthana and begin their onslaught.
(24 to hit, 11 slashing. 20 to hit, 10 slashing. Misses it's third)
(19 to hit, 9 slashing. 22 to hit, 10 slashing. Misses it's third.)
The other Two who made it to the roof whip around to Vin and attack in a whirl of slick darkened blades.
(18 to hit, 12 slashing, 25 to hit, 7 slashing, 16 to hit, 9 slashing)
(Rolled a nat one and faceplants in the snow)
Bursting through the open viewing frame in the second floor two rush up to Muir, screaming and hacking as they do.
(20 to hit, 10 slashing. 24 to hit, 11 slashing. Misses it's third.)
(Misses it's first. 24 to hit, 8 slashing. 25 to hit, 6 slashing)
Whilst the final one in the second floor focuses it's attention on Hirsi.
(14 to hit, 7 slashing. 21 to hit, 8 slashing. Misses with its third)
Now that everyone gets a good look at the creatures, they can see that the creatures are something similar but not the same as the redcaps that the group have fought already, where the redcaps look like a pale dwarf crossed with a gory mushroom these creatures are slick, wet with darkened blood, as though they are made of blood, their clothes and weapons too... Their heads are disheveled conical spikes, their teeth are sharp pointed rows from which nothing but screaming is heard, and their eyes are completely black like that of a fish. The spiked weapons on their hands and feet don't look like they detach, as though the curved spikes are simply part of their bodies, and they smell strongly of Sulphur.
As the blood creatures move up the wall and find themselves on the roof, Elthana is utterly repulsed by their appearance. As they attack her, she is overridden by the multiple attacks of the two that surround her. Barely holding on, she digs out the potion in her pack and takes the full amount.
Seeing the one in front of her in such bad shape makes her itch to hit him and take him out, but knowing that would leave her in trouble, she calls upon her blessing from the Raven Queen. Clasping her hands together and bowing her head, her body turns into wisps of shadow. Reappearing once more, 30 feet away behind her friend Vin. Her body still not completely formed as shadows continually swirl around her.
Three of them peel off to the floor just below and as the group of creatures separate out, two of them burst through the ground floor wall, smelling around they head off towards Sam, he watches them race towards him but they do not reach him just yet.
((Sam and Órga had readied actions - Sam to smash with his maul if any foes came within range, Órga to move and pounce... I am unsure if Sam can move to the foe as part of his readied action? If these Bloodspots (or whatever they're called) are within range and Sam & Órga can take readied actions then see Spoiler. If not, ignore :)
Órga circles the room (if need be) so that he can move 20' and pounce on the closest Bloodspot. Bloodspot must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and Órga makes a claw attack in same action: Claw Attack 15 to hit, 6Damage
Sam moves to the closest Bloodspot to him and attacks with the maul: 25 to hit, 17 Damage
Actually... If we do get these attacks skip the pounce part for Órga and just make a claw attack... Lion must move straight towards opponent at least 20', I see on a re-reading of it, so no circling the room to rev up...
On their actual turn...
Sam can't help but smirk a bit as he sees these Bloodspot looking things coming for him as he immediately had visions of his Maul splattering them all over everything... And Sam didn't delay in trying to make that happen! Sam momentarily considers cutting full loose and growing in stature but the room already seemed a bit cramped, so he skips that... for now. Moving (if needed) to the closest one, Sam cuts loose with his maul.
Maul Attack 1: 25to hit, 11damage
Maul Attack 2: 26 to hit, 17damage
Órga doesn't need further instructions, seeing Sam leap into action was enough. The lion does so as well, lunging in to bite the closest of these strange, possibly squishy?, foes...
Órga Bite Attack: 15+5 for 20 to hitand 5+3 for 8 damage
(Pack tactics gives Órga advantage if a friendly is with 5 feet of target, and not sure if Sam and him are attacking same target... If so, and if Órga needs more than a 20... Advantage roll is 17+5 for a 22 to hit...)
"We got Bloodspots down here, y'all!" Sam calls out loudly, his voice more mirthful than frightful... "How's the upstairs??"
Sam and Òrga spring into action having been ready for something like this, with Sam's first attack his maul hits the creature, a solid strike, then again with his second, the crumpled area left by the maul on this spiked beast begins bleeding profusely, but with Sam's third strike it is as if he struck a thick gory pie, the creature loses form, foul smelling blood is thrown and splatters across the wall and ceiling beginning to drip onto the floor.
Òrga similarly attacks and is successful in with her bites and claws, though the seems to be having difficulty as the creature takes each attack in its stride.
The door knob turns, a a violent wobble of an attempt as someone tries to open, but is blocked by the desk that Muir and Sam moved...
That was the first thought that popped into Vin's mind. These things went from the ground floor up the sides of the building and got to everyone on the roof in a matter of seconds. He want's to try and gauge which one's are most injured from the fire and thorns they were raked with but there just isn't any time to think of a plan. Where does one go when almost a dozen murderous creatures scale the walls in seconds? This went from a solid plan to an absolute disaster in the very first building. He failed to stop this from happening, in fact... he caused it. His fiery beams causing explosions instead of the controlled burning he wanted cause the blood to flow into the pool and apparently that triggered it. His plan may have been good but Vin just makes mistake after mistake. Now, they might all die. The creatures quickly splitting up so far around the roof that even his widest spell covering a 20 feet diameter cannot hit more then two! When did the group get so split up? Vin curses his idiocy and tries to at least not die. The creature quickly slicing through the shell of energy he made from killing the redcap earlier and making two large slashes in his torso. Now bleeding he tries to get the one in front of him at least. He just hopes its injured enough and this will drop it. Vin can't do anything though as he's not skilled in melee combat. The creature making furious swipes at him making the aiming of his spell difficult. He decides the only thing he can do is try to summon fire in the general area of the creature. The other one having fallen flat on it's face can hopefully also be hit with the summoned bonfire.
As Sam shouts out for how it's going on the roof Vin replies "Not well!"
Cast: Summon bonfire - DC 16 Dex Save on cast and when entered or end turn in - 9 fire damage on fail.
Neferox however is flummoxed at how these things spread out so fast. She doesn't have a way to get up quickly at all so all she can do is finish off which ever ones are left down here then make her way up quickly to Vin and the others. She just hopes they are alright but from her vantage down here it'll be difficult to see what's going on on the roof.
Neferox readily dismembers her adversary, it turning into a bloody mess in her mouth before soaking into the mud leaving nothing but a darkened patch behind. The hell hound then busts through the hole in the wall and catches up to the creatures that ran after Sam.
The prone creature Infront of vin begins to burn, unable to move out of the way, the second caught by surprise fails to get out of the way and in its haste also tumbles to the floor, burning and screaming.
Gewyn runs toward the redcap with his dagger poised to strike. He thrusts forward with the blade, putting his whole weight behind the blow as he shouts out, "Vin! You've got this. Don't underestimate yourself. Kick that thing's ass!"
Muir takes quite a beating and is unable to protect Hirsi, who is near death, in the onslaught. He quickly throws her over his shoulder and disengages with the creatures taking off down the stairs heading towards Sam and Orga. He sets Hirsi down in a corner and heals her for 6HPs. "Sam we were ambushed by these creatures upstairs. I see you are too...I will aid you once I get her ok."
Hirsi nearing unconsciousness does not resist being taken, though as she watches the creatures she swirls some magic through her hands and chants in a druidic tongue, grasping weeds and vines sprout forth from the floor, restraining one of the creatures and pulling it down to the ground as the other two break free before the vines can restrain them. The second floor is now covered in entangling vines.
The elf and dwarf guard swing their weapons at Gewyn's confused Redcap, now realising Gewyn's betrayal, only the elf gets a good slice in with their rapier, but it gives Iver ample chance to slip away and join Vin and Elthana in their defence against the four creatures on the roof. Iver lunges forth with his shortsword, and in his exertion, his sword briefly bursts into white hot flame
The Redcap turns to Gewyn, and rasps out "the Madcaps will devour you and add you to their demonic pool! Betrayer! Even if they do not succeed it is too late, the Hag will unleash hell and you will all perish!" It swings wildly at Gewyn in its anger.
25 (crit) to hit, 15 slashing. NAT one on its second attack and forgoes it's third.
The two Demonic Madcaps that Elthana escaped move up to attack Iver
(Misses first, misses second, 24 to hit, 9 slashing)
(21 to hit, 10 slashing, misses second, misses third)
The other two roof Madcaps scramble from the floor, one still in flames after Iver's attack, one goes for vin the other Elthana.
Vin;
(21 to hit, 10 slashing. 18 to hit, 10 slashing. 23 to hit, 11 slashing.)
Elthana;
( NAT one on first attack, forgoes rest of turn)
From the second floor both of the Madcaps that are unrestrained follow Muir down the stairs, continuing to scream, the first attempts to grapple at Muir (contested athletics DC 8), the other madcap dives down the stairs at Hirsi, it's bladed feet pointing forwards, she tries to dodge, even using her lucky footwork inherent in all Harengon but it still catches her (20 bludgeoning damage) and her body crumples to the ground, limp.
The final madcap on the ground floor sandwiched and out flanked between Neferox and Sam, lashes out at Sam.
(26 to hit, crit, 14 slashing. NAT one on second hit, forgoes rest of turn)
Out side the blocked up door the rattling stops as the sound of something wet hits the door with some force, the sound of violent fighting can be heard outside, but Sam and Muir are unable to tell how long this has been going on.
Breakdown,
Roof: Gewyn and two guards fighting the redcap, Iver and Elthana fighting four Madcaps, Vin is down.
Second floor: one madcap entangled. But not for long.
Ground floor: one Madcap flanked by Sam and Neferox, Órga is also in melee, two more Madcaps at the bottom of the stairs in melee with Muir, Hirsi is down. There is also seemingly fighting happening right outside the door.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
(Assuming Elthana can hear the redcap since she is also on the roof?) Hag? What hag? Elthana ponders briefly as she looks to the foes that have just taken down her friend Vin. Anger surges through her and with fury, she re-engages the enemy..
She steps in to attack with her magical fists against the madcaps, going for the worst looking one first and then hopefully another...
Attack: 26 Damage: 10
Attack: 17 Damage: 8
Using her ki, she then dodges to hopefully be able to fight again.
Òrga rushes in and lashes at the Madcap engaged with Sam with his claw… (pack tactics grants the Lion advantage… rolls a 1 & a 4, for 9 to hit… didn’t bother rolling damage.)
Sam smashes down at the Madcap with his maul, looking to splatter the bloody thing. He swings twice if that is what it takes, or he moves to try to put himself between the ones at the bottom of the steps and Muir & Hirsi, striking at the nearest foe and using Crusher to knock them back 5 feet if he hits.
1st Maul Attack: 24 to hit, for 17 damage…
2nd Maul Attack: 15 to hit also for 17 damage. (Just a 12 to hit if 2nd attack is on different target and Sam doesn’t have advantage…)
Elthana fells the creature in front of her and the whirls around to splatter the Madcap looming above Vin's body, both of them lose form and sulphurous blood goes flying in all directions as the two creatures fall.
While Órga has no luck in tackling the Madcap below, Sam's mauls makes short work of it, descending halfway into its liquid mass before deforming into a mass on the floor, similarly Sam whips around and begins the assault on the Mad cap that felled Hirsi, it takes the damage, absorbs the blow, but does not fall.
Muir has just enough time to set Hirsi's limp body down behind him, and with a rage he's never felt before. He tries to whip one of the abominations with his thorny whip (10 to hit, 7 damage) but misses wildly. He quickly heals some of his wounds for (5hps).
Vin couldn't take out even one of the madcaps. They took him down instead. He was never one to get into close combat. Preferring range and it shows as just two of these things quickly overwhelmed him. One cut, two, three all slash into the young man's body. His vision blurrs and it becomes difficult to even see straight. He tries to use some magic but its like his mind has become all muddled and the magic just fizzles in his hands. He collapses to the ground, wondering what happened, confused why he can't stand. The madcap looking down at him. Blood underneath him... is it his? He can't think as his mind drifts off and he passes out. A small necklace on him seems to shine a bit. Preserving what little is left of his life to protect him. His heart beats strong still. His life stabilized as the amulet he has seems to shimmer with a gentle warm power. He's not bleeding actively anymore but Vin is very vulnerable and still very unconscious.
Neferox on the other hand seems to sense something is wrong. They sense Vin it hurt badly. They become focused on one objective. Get to Vin. Anything that gets in their way will be mowed down in fire and fangs. Neferox will move to get next to Vin if able, evoking attacks of opportunity as she rush recklessly rushes to Vin's aid. She will only attack a madcap that physically prevents her from getting to Vin otherwise she will get to the one that is attacking Vin. Making two bite attacks or if all she can do is get within 30 feet of the one attacking Vin will use her heat breath to save him avoiding hitting him with it.
Neferox bounds over Sam, running full speed, springing herself off the wall of the staircase and around the Madcaps who seem to ignore her, similar to how they ignored her at the start of their crazed assault. Reaching the hole in the roof, Neferox unleashes a tirade of hellish flames that envelop the two Madcaps in the roof and also Iver. Luckily Iver braces himself and powers through the flames burn his skin, his hair, and his armour glows red hot, but he stands resolute.
One of the Madcaps succumb to the flames, reaching boiling point and bubbling over into a puddle which begins to trickle off the roof, the other steams and screams but manages to retain its form.
Gewyn takes the attack from the redcap across his arm, but bolstered by his own music and the fighting spirit of his allies, he hardly seems to feel the blood trickling down to his elbow as he unhooks the stolen sickle from his belt. He ducks under the redcap's next swing, and makes a crossing slash with his two weapons.
With their attacks missing or not causing enough damage to the redcap in front of them, the two guards grow exasperated, the female dwarf attempts to grapple at the redcap restraining it in place as it continues to yell at Gewyn, "your days are numbered! you will all suffer the same fate as the daughters of the seasons! torn asunder and turned to blood!" (contested athletics guard succeeds) with that the second guard, the male elf slices at the Redcap with his rapier, (Nat 20, 17 damage) the Redcap's balloon head is torn asunder, deflating in a flood of blood over Gewyn and the dwarf as the Redcap slumps limply to the ground and ceases its angry tirade.
Iver winces in pain as he takes more damage from his white hot armour (11 fire damage), he grits his bloody teeth and throws down his shortsword, instead using his armour as a weapon, he too grapples the last madcap in front of him (contested athletics, Iver succeeds) holding the madcap to his white-hot chest plate in a crushing bearhug, the creature sizzles some more, struggling against his captor (11 fire damage) but it cannot escape and succumbs to the heat boiling to the point where it cannot retain its shape any longer, it fizzles out and splashes onto the roof top no longer alive.
From the second floor, the previously entangled Madcap rushes up to the roof, passing Neferox without a second thought, Neferox snaps her maw at the creature as it rushes past but misses as the vision of Vin laying motionless in front of her proves too much of a distraction. The madcap finds the closest person it can and begins hacking at them (misses first attack, 23 to hit, 8 slashing damage, misses third attack) Iver takes a massive gash to his back and falls forward into the puddle of madcap that he just made, he grasps his necklace with the ring on it and struggles to draw breath. Iver is down.
Ground floor;
The two Madcaps at the bottom of the stairs survey what just happened, Muir's thorn whip and Sam's devastating maul, they each turn toward Sam, one lashing out at the half-orc the second at his lion companion.
Sam (15 to hit, misses. 23 to hit, 11 slashing. 14 to hit, misses)
Orga (14 to hit, 10 slashing. 9 to hit, misses. 13 to hit, 9 slashing)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Elthana watches as the madcap emerges from below and viciously attacks Iver. Seeing him go down as well sends her into a white hot fury. She runs to take the madcap down, but in her blind rage, she misses. Taking a quick breath, she tries again.
Attack: 11 Damage: 8
(Bonus action dependent on what happens with that attack)

Bloodspot must succeed on a DC 13 Strength saving throw or be knocked prone and Órga makes a claw attack in same action: Claw Attack 15 to hit, 6 Damage
Maul Attack 1: 25 to hit, 11 damage
Maul Attack 2: 26 to hit, 17 damage
Órga doesn't need further instructions, seeing Sam leap into action was enough. The lion does so as well, lunging in to bite the closest of these strange, possibly squishy?, foes...
Órga Bite Attack: 15+5 for 20 to hit and 5+3 for 8 damage
They're too fast.

Ground floor: one Madcap flanked by Sam and Neferox, Órga is also in melee, two more Madcaps at the bottom of the stairs in melee with Muir, Hirsi is down. There is also seemingly fighting happening right outside the door.
Attack: 20 Damage: 6
Attack: 20 Damage: 9
The sickle is a fair bit heavier than Gewyn is used to, but his wood sword practice with Elthana has not been for naught, it would seem.
The roof;
Ground floor;
The two Madcaps at the bottom of the stairs survey what just happened, Muir's thorn whip and Sam's devastating maul, they each turn toward Sam, one lashing out at the half-orc the second at his lion companion.
Sam
(15 to hit, misses. 23 to hit, 11 slashing. 14 to hit, misses)
Orga
(14 to hit, 10 slashing. 9 to hit, misses. 13 to hit, 9 slashing)
