Griff yawns and grins at Vin who included him in the 'Us'
As Sam takes himself off, the Aarakocran rolls his beady eyes at the bickering but does recognise that Sam has the right idea and stretches his wings around himself like a blanket as he slouches at the table.
As much as Sam tries to overhear what might be being said without being obvious about it, his attempt is quickly drowned out by a passed out Ömertyr close by who has begin to snore, sat against the wall, feet outstretched and fast asleep.
"I am not sure they could destroy the portals, but perhaps you are right they could disrupt them enough to strand us. I guess we need to move quickly here then, and keep an eye out for allies of our own, not just for the sake of the war against Nivara", Vin eventually replies quietly.
"I am keen to meet this Ginro and find out what assistance they can be with their expertise in the creation of artefacts", he then says above a whisper, but not loudly as he sees those slumbering and doesn't want to wake them.
As Sam bed's down he keeps one ear open as the party discusses things. Alas though they are not usually a quiet group they seem to immediately hush their voices and conspire secretly in hushed voices. He can't make out any what they say, thanks in part to Ömertyr's snoring, but it is clear it is Muir who begins to collude with the others. Sam tosses a bit in his pre-slumber, uneasy with whatever Muir has become poisoning the minds of the others, but he grunts and farts and decides there is little to be done about it right now... He does his best to get some actual sleep and let the cabal have their secrets.
"I understand the difficulties you have been having in working collaboratively with Sam," Gewyn says quietly. "He cannot be left to rampage wildly through carefully negotiated goodwill like he nearly did with Shenoh, but I worry his feelings of alienation from us may be exacerbating the issue. It's a conundrum."
When Muir mentions the possible invasion of the Fae realm, Gewyn's fist tightens in anger. He marvels inwardly at the strength of his emotional reaction. "They have no right," he hisses.
"Do not misunderstand me, I will continue to work with him, as I did at the factory by keeping him alive and conscious, but do not ask more than that. I will continue to ignore him and his aggressive mocking tone until I can find a cure for him and his affliction. I am certain that the pendent that turned him undead has some sort of effect on him. This is the orc that always spoke of being a team. When Nef attacked me, he threatened her exclaiming we are a family, a team and we don't attack each other. He has held to that principle since I have been a part of this team. Now he threatens you, Gewyn, and did what he did with me....How none of you see the change in him is beyond me, but I suppose we see what we want." Muir takes a breath, hoping they would see what he is saying and help Muir to fix Sam. "As for the fae I do not know for certain what they've done, but putting Gore under some sort of spell does not bode well"
"You don't have to convince me, Muir. I think I even mentioned as much myself, that the amulet took a piece of his soul, or possibly all of it. His actions were callous and cruel, and I am not sure he is totally sane any more. Even Neferox likened his behaviour with you to that which she would see in the Hells. It made her a little homesick even, not that that is a good thing, but it makes a point", Vin replies quietly.
"I had hoped you could get through to him, make him take a good look at himself", he whispers to Elthana. "Perhaps you still can, if you choose to try".
Elthana shrugs at looks over at the form of Sam curled up on his bedroll. He sure has changed from the sweet, caring man that weaseled his way into her heart. Was it the amulet? Was it the constant conflict? Was it the mistrust within the group that she thought was handled but now boiling over?
"I will try, I will always try, but yes... I do see what you mean. He has changed and I don't know how to get him back." She replies in hushed tones, almost wistful. Then to Muir, "Though I gotta admit, hearing you just lay there and let yourself be eaten? Please... don't do that again, I can understand why he thought you weren't well, you. I would have questioned it myself. Please, I can't lose you."
She then reaches over and grabs Gewyn's hand and squeezes it, "We don't know for sure what is going on, but we'll figure it out. Have faith that we will be there for you as you have been for us."
Muir nods "Yes hindsight is 20-20 but I thought I could reason with him. I was surrounded by his animals and he stood at the door, I didn't think he would go through with it. On the positive side of this, it helped me realize there is something wrong with him and he is not himself. May I send the message now? I would also like to send all the various mosses I collected from the various isles to Hog with a little note as well."
Muir scribbles a note for Hog about the mosses and puts both notes and the moss through the bag
"So what is the plan? Meet with this Ginro and see just how to stop Nivarra? The phylactery is of utmost importance to accomplish this goal. It could quite literally be anywhere but at least we know it will be expensive looking and have runes on it."
Vin nods solemnly to Elthana when she says she will try, but says no more. He has had words with muir already about what happened, and he certainly doesn't disagree with Elthana's judgement that he should have done something more about not getting eaten.
"I think so. If Ginro have powerful artefacts at their disposal, it is worth at least hoping for good news from them. On the side of the pessimist, if Nivara infiltrated Shenoh, she could have done the same on Ginro. But let's be positive, just for a little bit at least".
"I am knowing that it is not the same, but when my children are fighting, my wife and I are taking time to listen to both side, to be making sure both side feel like they are having someone at their back and then helping both sides to be meeting upon common grounds. Sam is being having an issue with feeling like nobody is at his back." Griff mumbles from his wing blanketed seat.
"As for Ginro... Akiin is not so close to Ginro as Shenoh is, though we are buying our warming crystals and magic utilities from there. Akiin is not being one to be relying too much on outside help, instead preferring to be helping his own citizens to be having jobs and options for our own success. yes? Ginro can be being very helpful in researching... This phylactery, the problems we are having, even how to be stopping a lich thing, but it would be good to be knowing exactly what we are wanting him?" his mumbles grow more slow and slurred as he buries his beak into his folded wings and fights the urge to nod off until the conversation is done.
"If you think that will help, you should try your approach", he replies quietly, hoping that Griff might be right but nowhere near convinced. "But Neferox and I were there, and we saw first hand. This is not about whose story to believe for me, I know what happened".
Muir pays no mind to Griff’s statement instead choosing to focus on saving Sam than rehashing the events. “If we are lucky Genro knows something about the phylactery even if they’re unaware they’ve seen it. The quicker we finish here the faster we can get back and help our realm…..I do not trust the clerics”
((Sam is just resting, taking note of the conspiring voices as he does... Not sure if we've been awake long enough to really nod off to sleep or not but still, a good shut eye even without sleep can be refreshing...))
As the room goes into quiet contemplation, ten minutes go by before rushing feet can be heard outside the doors but the sound goes by and all is quiet once more aside from Ömertyr's snores.
Twenty minutes and there are a few thunks from the tubes that bring reports to the war room.
Thirty minutes, Griff joins Ömertyr in the chorus of snoring as the aarakocra slouches in his chair covered by his wings.
Forty minutes and the doors fly open, Sol enters hurriedly but as he sees those sleeping he quiets and addresses those awake at the table "I-I'm sorry it took so long, Shenoh has become busy, the griffon riders found a mass of those casket things. I'm going out to recast my daylight on Francis but thought to swing by quickly and inform you that someone will be with you shortly. Here." He places a rolled scroll on the table, "this should assist in your task. To inform the other isles and gather the help you need, it's a signed and stamped declaration from shenoh." He takes any questions quickly before leaving.
"Just waiting around is for the b..." Sam, unusual for him, thinks better of his choice of words before they are fully out of his mouth. "Well, it sucks. You need another fighter with your griffon riders to help with the caskets or anything?"
Elthana reaches for Hog's bag after Muir sends his letter and moss to him so she can secure it once more against her.
Once done, she listens to Griff and she appreciates him trying to help, but at the moment she doesn't see an avenue that can help. She hopes something does at some point, she feels they are a broken team right now and they can't be successful this way. She sighs at the thought.
Once Vin hands out the scroll for someone to take, she takes it and looks it over. She eyes Gewyn to see if he wants it, but otherwise places it in her pack for safe keeping. "I think we are to go to Ginro maybe? Instead of him coming here? Maybe this someone is going to take us to the room with all the runes, the one they were working on to get teleportation up and running."

"Someone? I thought we were seeing Ginro", Vin asks. "Is that not where you and Shenoh went after all, to brief him?".
He walks across to the scroll and picks it up, holding it up and looking to pass it on to one of the others.
"You also hinted that Ginro had means to travel between the isles directly. Which would certainly help".
