As Elthana refuses the help the ice creeps further, the other leg and one of her hands becoming bound to the ice, (everyone aside from Elthana still have actions)
Hector not having any spells that could assist grows impatient, and actively looks as though he is about to dash back out on to the ice to assist
After her attempt fails, and as the ice continues to creep up her leg, she looks to Hector and winks at him.
Then disappears in a swirl of black smoke, the inky tendrils surrounding her completely before being whisked away by the cold wind that barrages the group. When the smoke is gone so is the elf, reappearing next to the group and brushing the remaining ice off her legs.
Whilst brushing the ice off her legs Elthana finds that she is bleeding. Looking over to where she was stuck but a moment ago, the ice, still in the shape of her leg begins receding, there are chunks of her frozen flesh in the shape of roots that had been the path of the ice into her. But for now the danger is over. Hector grabs her up in a quick hug before exasperatedly asking why she couldn't have done that a bit sooner!
The door at the top of the stair opens easily and though there seems to be no wind inside the temperature seems to drop even more.
You are all faced with a large circular foyer, everything sleek with ice, and yet more frozen people.
Vin looks inside and feels the temperature drop further, digs in his pack and takes out a vial, looks at it for a moment and then across to Hector.
"Hey, Hector", he says flying across to him. "Best you drink this, it will protect you some from the cold", he adds and hands him the vial.
"Ok, more ice statues. I guess that means the floor in here might be as dangerous as out there", he says before slowly flying in on Bry'ze and looking around for some stairs, or other surfaces that keep them off the floor.
Neferox follows cautiously after him. She wasn't overly affected by the cold, but she really didn't like it all the same.
Elthana gives Hector a half smile, "Gotta keep you on your toes"but then she looks back to the chunk of flesh in the ice and shudders.
She takes stock of the more frozen people in the next room, and as they look for where to go next, she pulls one of the soft fuzzy balls out of the bag Sam gave her.
A giant goat emerges from the ball after Elthana rolls it on the ground. She looks to it's hooves, hoping the ice doesn't take the creature.. this just occurring to her after she did this.
The giant goat, that Sam had previously named Molly, stings to life from the fuzz ball and takes confused stick of its surroundings before naturally, almost instinctively recognising Elthana as the one who summoned her. With no commands present Molly starts walking around a little sniffing the walls and orientating herself. As she does she steps out onto the large glass like floor of the foyer, but aside from a little slipping on the near frictionless surface, no climbing ice comes to claim her.
"I could do with less keeping on my toes these days" hector chuckles with Elthana as he takes a hesitant step into the room proper, and also feeling no danger let's the tension in his shoulders drop in relief "Thank you for the potion vin, I'll hang on to it til we need it. You do right by flying but at least in here we have walls to walk on should we need, we should check around, find the source, does anyone know where the wind out there was coming from? Obviously the spire here but where?"
"Fair enough. I think the wind was coming from the top of spire, down and out across the courtyard", Vin replies to Hector as he looks around and fails to find any stairs.
He looks to see if there are any exits from this room at all, and if the foyer looks like it takes up the whole ground floor of the spire, based on what he saw from outside.
Seeing what he is up to, Neferox also takes a look around for a way up.
"I could do with less keeping on my toes these days" hector chuckles
"Well I'd rather keep on them than let the ice take them off,"Gewyn says walking through the foyer. He looks about the hall in wonder at the icy architecture, looking for a way forward. He also scans the frozen statues, curious to see what kinds of people are trapped here.
Elthana lets go of the breath she was holding as the ice doesn't touch Molly's hooves. She walks over to the beast with her hand out for the goat to sniff her, and if allowed, she scratch her chin. Over her shoulder she responds to Hector, "It helps keep you young."
She then walks over to the statues, "These poor people.. the ones in the first chamber, they knew this was coming - the frost that took them. These people, they had no idea, there is no fear - no nothing. I bet it was so fast, they never saw it coming." She looks at them a bit closer and then to the center of the room. "It is coming from here. See how the icicles have formed on the statues? The blast is from this center." She cautiously walks closer to it, wondering what this all even means.
As Elthana and Gewyn investigate the statues their findings confirm on another's, the blast that froze these people in place happened instantly but also momentarily as no evidence remains of what exactly happened.
Vin and Neferox swirl, racing eachother to the ceiling high above, Neferox illuminating the circular foyer as her paws flare and leave little trails of hellfire where she steps. As they reach the ceiling there is a square there something akin to a spiral staircase but upside down. It is only noticeable up close as the veritable wall if ice blocking the entire staircase seems to camouflage the alcove within the glistening icy crystal around it. The path to the chamber above blocked, but certainly the source of whatever happened here.
Vin appears to be gesturing to the blocked inverted staircase, before turning to Muir and whoever else made their way to the ceiling.
"Neferox and I think we could maybe melt the ice blockage away. We both have means of producing fire. But happy to try your way first, Muir", he says to the large vulture.
Elthana watches from below, "Muir, I'd let the fire take over and move out of the way if I were you."
She keeps checking back to the door they came from, worried something might come from behind. This was such a weird place and it made her feel unsettled.
Once vulture-Muir moves out of the way of the iced over inverted staircase, Vin and Neferox descend a little to give some space, and then Vinhurls three fiery rays at it using his magical circlet.
Hector begins to walk up the wall passing by several of the frozen dead who are still standing there inverted against the sides.
As vulture Muir attacks his beak bounces off the ice block with a ringing that resonates around the room, but there appears to be no damage to the ice block, then he goes in with the talons and this makes more of a dent. Three grooves carved in a diagonal from one corner of the block to the opposite side. Backing off Muir gives vin room to go blasting. Flames erupt once, twice, three times as water begins dripping down to the floor. But the flames don't do as much as vin would have hoped, the scratches are melted in deeper and cracks seem to be forming further into the ice but this is thicker than expected.
Muir screeches

"Up here", Vin calls down from high up near the ceiling. "It looks like there is an inverted staircase, but it's blocked", he adds.
He waits near the top, contemplating what they can do to clear the way.
Muir flies up to the blocked area and begins pecking and clawing at it to see if it can be dislodged
