Durnir - (The creature succeeds on its save) The Bell of Fate tolls aloud, sending a sound wave of necromantic energy towards the creature. With most of its body still concealed beneath the water, it acts as a barrier and most of that energy is absorbed before it affects the cursed man.
Ivy shifts uncomfortably, debating on using their magic as well. Although looking around, it appears only Davis remains from the people who could turn them in. Their head tilts in consideration. Davis was the nicest, most assuring, and appeared quite loyal. That built trust, as well as favour with Ivy. They look to Davis and nod. If he’d benefit from borrowing their light crossbow against this foe, she offers it to him.
Ivy then pops up on their tip toes and cranes their neck to meticulously keep an eye on the emerged stone figure. Blue eyes scan as their nose wiggles and sniffs. She hovers, and waits. As the stoned man eventually wades in closer she points. “Freeze, pea brain!”
Free Action: Drop light crossbow for Davis? Ready Action: Cast Frostbite Con DC11 or take 6 cold damage and have d/a on next weapon attack roll it makes before the end of its next turn. (Accidentally rolled cold damage in Game Log when reviewing the spell, so kept it. Willing to reroll here or on Avrae if preferred.)
Walf stands behind the group and watches his friends cast magic at the being. He is leery about using magic in this world, but Davis seems to be ok with it. Walf looks around to make sure no one is lurking before casting faerie fire on the rock man (Dex save 14)
Ivy - (The Stone Cursed succeeds on his save.) As Ivy casts her spell, a cold snap of evocative energy springs forth around the man, covering him in frost. Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem to take hold - the stone man continues forward slowly and steadily.
Walf - (The Stone Cursed fails its save) As you cast the spell, you feel your hands vibrate with energy - the volatility of the spell testing your control. With a lifetime of practice, you are able to keep it stable and send it forth. The Stone Cursed begins to glow with an unnatural light ( you choose the color :) ), even providing a visual aid for the portion of its body beneath the waves.
You all now have advantage on attack rolls against the creature.
Davis draws one of his trusty hand axes and tosses it at the stone-creature's chest. To hit is a 24, damage is 9 plus 2 from thrown weapon fighting, so 11 damage on a hit. He stays put on the shore, letting the stone being come to them rather than moving out into untrustworthy footing to fight it.
At first quietly, almost eerily, a sound of crackling energy begins to emanate from Adaban. He cocks his head, staring at the creature from 90 feet away, then in a swift motion lifts a hand and says, calmly, "Adaban." A blast of energy surges then becomes a crackling streak of light between Adaban and the stone person.
(( Eldritch Blast, 25 to hit, 1 point of damage, rolls in DDB Campaign log ))
The throwing axe finds purchase as the Stone Cursed glows from the faerie fire on the moonlit shore, provided an easy target. Bits of stone still affected by the faerie fire can be seen rocketing away from the creature like shooting stars as the eldritch blast makes contact. The figure can be seen stumbling momentarily, before crumbling into the water.
Durnir waits and watches with Davis. {Assuming it's over} After a minute passes, he will say "Huh. Good throw Davis. And nice shot, Adaban. Did you just say your own name while casting? Well, anyways. It seems like this danger is passed, I hope. Should we continue searching the ship? Or go back to town? I don't care either way, but we should decide soon."
"Well, if that was all on the ship, then I say let's get in there and get this cursed item out, before it causes any more problems." He looks to the others. "Any of you know how to handle such a thing without us getting cursed as well?"

Adaban steps about 90' feet back from the shore and waits.
30 seconds go by before you see the head of the statue emerge from the waves about 40 feet out into the water. Begin Initiative!

The moon provides dim light.
Durnir will step in front of Ivy, shield ahead of him. He'll look to Davis, and say quickly "I hope you won't arrest me for this."
"Helm, aid me in giving this poor creature some rest." He will cast Toll The Dead: Wis 14 or 3 damage

Davis glances to Durnir. "I am no official or anything." He scoffs. "Out here, where no one can see you, use your magic as you wish."

The creature glows yellow like the yellow finch one of Walf’s favorite birds

"Is it dealt with that easily?" Davis asks as he waits to see if the figure rises again.

Wait as you may, the figure does not rise again. It would seem as though the stone skin of the cursed creature is rather brittle.
(Dropping initiative)
