"I'm not so sure where I'm going either Walf, we should definitely go there together then." The blue-skinned cambion says with a chuckle. "So what's the business with this chest, did you just happen upon it while taking an evening walk or did you salvage it from the bottom of the ocean?" He says with a curious smile, looking between Walf, Durnir and Ivy.
Ivy snorts softly and giggles when she hears Walf interpret Brynn’s name. However, she doesn’t take it upon themself to correct him. It was always more interesting to watch Walf navigate the world through his eyes. She’d see things from different perspectives even with something so simple as introductions.
The silver-haired half-elf would smile delightfully at the interactions with their mentor now that the conversation was going. Once there was a light lull, Ivy would finally jump in. “Walf sent a tweet, then we followed the twitter.” She nods affirmatively as she recounts what happened. “Some stoners crashed their ship and washed up on shore.” She’d explain simply.
Walf nods at Between Jobs "Walf tweet to bird friends. Birds retweet and Walf tweet again. Walf and bird friends twitter. Walf, Ivy and Durnir smash stoners. Durnir take stoner stash."
The blue-skinned cambion smiles amused as he looks between Ivy and Walf as they recount their exciting adventures, then taking a sip of his exquisitie wine. So the lizardfolk could communicate with birds. Nature magic no doubt. How wonderful. "So why did you come to Noir, are you simply restless souls like myself?" He asks, his golden eyes looking curiously between Ivy, Walf and Durnir, his blue tail in constant motion behind him.
Ivy grins widely as if she has plenty more to share, but is immediately distracted by the motion in their peripherals. She twists their body one way to look behind them, then the other. Blue eyes follow swaying motion. "Who's restless?" She says as she turns around to kneel on the chair and proceeds to lean over it to reach. "I agree with Durnir." Their hips wiggle then she juts forward to swats at Ahryman's tail trying to catch it. "We get our own private resting space an' share details there." She tries again. "Came to Noir to learn." And again. "An' Walf always says studying's best in quiet spaces with less distractions." She couldn't imagine why.
The blue-skinned cambion, smiles wider, his sharp fangs visible, as the young silver-haired half-elf turns to kneel on her chair, playfully trying to catch his long blue tail swaying back and forth with excitement over his new company, and he decides to play along in her game by letting it dodge her attempts to catch it, swiftly moving left, then rapidly right, teasingly poking the half-elf's shoulder. Some attention still at the conversation, Ahryman takes another sip of his red wine before continuing. "So, unless the contents of that chest allows you to lean back in comfort we would all need something that would earn us some gold?"
A moment later, patricia returns. She walks toward the table with a drink platter carrying many glasses and flagons, looking almost too full - two stacked tiers. A hand from the crowd reaches and grabs one of the glasses as she moves by, and she takes notices. She stops to clearly request payment from the man who, after some undecipherable converstion, drops some coins into her empty, waiting hand.
She continues forward toward your table, "Alright, 'ere's your first round!" She grabs yours from the top, "I'll be back with the cheese and crackers shortly." She smiles sweetly, then continues on with her platter, stopping at other tables to deliver drinks.
Walf looks at Between Jobs confused "Walf tweet. Bird tweet. Walf friends with birds. Bird no talk. Bird tweet." Walf turns to the blue one "Walf learn in new place. Walf have no gold. Gold shiny pay thing? Walf have tchotchkes to pay." Walf pulls out of his pocket a few gold coins, a handful of well kept acorns, prickly thorns, some nuts and berries, and crumbs of bread. "Walf have more in bags"
Durnir is sitting back in his chair, smiling widely as Walf and Ivy talk to the new comers, chuckles coming out every now and then. When Patricia comes around with the drinks, he takes a big swig from his. "Ahhh, that's the stuff. Okay, now that I have some mead, allow me to translate for you. I'm originally from Beros, but have been in Es'verdai-el for awhile now. We are on our Ris'fin-el. We are to travel and learn about the world. Earlier, we found a bird with a bloody earing. Walf loves to tweet, so he goes a-twitering away with this bird. He has a thing with birds, loves em. We learn where the bird found the earing, it was a ship wreck."
Durnir takes another swig, and starts to embellish "There were things aboard. Monsters, I tell ya. Must have been twenty of them. But we were stronger than the lot of them. Whack whack, smashed them with my sword, I did. The others helped some, too, I suppose. The water was damn cold though. Than Adaban, oh did we tell you about Adaban? He was a nekid fella we met when our ship landed. A pale bastard, looked a bit sickly. He was nice enough. Gave me this stone ring. Anyways, he dives into the wreckage and pulls out a chest. We were trying to figure out how to get it to shore when POOF. He was gone, chest and all. Might have been a ghost all along. Walf thinks he might pop out of this ring. Maybe he will. Maybe he never really was there to begin with. I think he's just hiding around a corner somewhere, waiting to make a theatrical entrance."
He'll stop and take another deep pull from his cup, draining it. "I missed this, can't get mead like this in Es'verdai-el. Anyways. We will need to make some coin if we are to continue our journey. And there's that other thing, but we don't want to talk about it in public. Don't want to look crazy or anything. Now I need more Mead! Rohohoho! " He'll end with a deep belly laugh!
After a few swipes, Ivy finally catches Ahryman’s tail. “Yes that’s right, Noir’s like gold for trade eh?” She’s reminded as she turns to sit back in their seat with his tail. “I like silver better!” She chimes as his tail almost slips away when she snatches it again. Silver at least had special properties when compared to the other element. “Food and shiny rocks too!” She’d add while settling back into their chair, hugging Ahryman’s tail tightly to themself for it not to sneak away again.
With an innocent smile, she nods along through most of Durnir’s translation with the ocassional quirked brow at his embellishments, as if trying to remember the detail themself. “Mmhmm! Mmhmm!” She nods adamantly at the last of what he says.
As Patricia comes by, the blue-skinned cambion turms briefly and smiles at her before turning his attention back to his game with Ivy and the conversation with the others.
"Mm, very nice, but I'm not sure acorns are considered valid currency in Noir, it's different from Es'Verdai-el in that regard, never know when you need some acorns though right?" Ahryman says with a wink and a friendly smile to Walf as the lizardfolk empties his pockets onto the table. He then turns and listens to Durnirs interpretation of what Ivy and Walf has been saying. "So, you slew 20 of those stone monsters almost single-handedly then, I'll be looking forward to seeing you in actions then my friend. And a naked man gave you a ring and then he disappears? Sounds like a ghost story indeed. And don't worry, no one would ever think of you and your friends as crazy." Ahryman says with a friendly smile as the dwarf finishes, glancing over at Walf and Ivy. "I'd be curious to know more about that other thing though." He adds, his focus now on his long blue tail, making it dodge back and forth as the silver-haired half-elf continues to try to catch it, finally letting her get her reward, hoping she wouldn't make a knot or something.
"It wasn't twenty, maybe three or four." Davis clarifies, looking at Durnir. "Seemed like it was the crew. Must've gotten blown off course or lost in the fog, poor bastards. I'd guess they were coming from Es-Verdai-El, based on that stone curse. Haven't heard of anything like that before today. We should include that in our report when we get back to Champagne." He takes a modest sip from his flagon, absentmindedly staring at the wall beyond the table.
"Silver? Well I will keep that in mind Ivy." The blue-skinned cambion says with a smile to the playful half-elf now hugging his long blue tail to her chest, semingly content with her keeping it for a while. "Stone curse?" Ahryman asks Davis with a curious smile. "Please tell me more about this stone curse." He continues, leaning slightly forward over the table and taking another sip of his exquisite wine.
Walf pulls out his book and leafs through it "Walf understanding of the Stone Cursed limited. Curse ancient more than Walf. Stories of not lucky adventures find Haguanti civilization remains. Adventurers find old tchotchkes. Tchotchkies have curse." Walf claps for effect "people stone."
Durnir shakes his head at Davis. "Ahh, Davis, me boy, you don't know how to tell a good story. We are having drinks! There must be some embellishment! You can't just go telling facts all the time. You need to add some spice to it!" He looks to Ahryman "The Stoned Cursed were the monsters I talked about. They, well, Walf and Ivy can probably explain it better than I. Especially now that I have an empty cup." Durnir will try to gesture to Patricia and motion to his mug, letting her know it's empty.

Walf smiles at Ahryman "Walf happy meeting Ahh-ree-man. Walf no know mercenary." Walf shrugs "Walf take Ahryman. Walf no sure where Walf go."
