To Karm, “Yes, something like that. Another story for another day.”
At the carriage. Eremoz stands awkwardly as the man ignores his offer to help. After a second he pulls out his coin purse and gives 100 bronze to Jiminy. “Before noon, please.”

Cob smiles at Jiminy, gives him a slight bow and hops into the carriage, marveling at the magic on display. He finds space to stretch out his legs, which ends up meaning he still takes up less space than the others.
"So is Jiminy an old mage," Cob asks the others, "or is the magic all in the carriage itself?"
That thought sparks Cob's curiosity and he begins scrambling around the interior of the carriage, examining it, tapping the sides gently.
Dvark climbs into the carriage still focused on the surrounding are more then the carriage itself until his sits down and realizes the size of the space.
"seems like getting out of town just keeps getting stranger and stranger. This is one surprise I don't think any of us will complain about though haha." Dvark chuckles. He place is pack, shield, and sword in the seat next to him and begins examining the carriage.
Drexon frowns as the paint magically re-appears. No answers there then.
He makes his way back around and, seeing Jiminy has been paid, steps into the carriage. As he does so he stops for a moment, putting his head out again and then back in.
"Huh", he says as he enters properly and takes a seat.
"There is something about Old Man Jiminy. I'm not saying he is dangerous to us, but he certainly isn't all he seems", he says cryptically before idly taking out his playing cards and shuffling them one handed again.

Yes he is a curious character. Maybe Me and him could exchange some secrets
Karm is definetly intrigued by the space distortion in the carriage. But he is more interested in how powerfull this magic is, rather than its origin. Arcana: 12
Cob, you look around the inside of the carriage, touching and tapping the walls gently, but it seems to be a simple wooden panel. You run your hand on the seats, but apart from the fine material of the seats, you find nothing that points you to what makes this space expansion possible. You crouch down and look under the seat, and you find that there is a crawl space that extends beyond the dimension of the carriage under one of the seats. You cannot see what lies beyond 5 to 10 feet of it even with Darkvision.
Karm, you have seen space expansion magic before. It is an expansion of the school of graviturgy and is still largely researched. From what you have seen, all magic concerning space expansion doesn't work well with living creatures -- a matter of unsustainable air supply in an enclosed space. You have only seen one example of space expansion magic that work well with living creatures and that is the Understudy of the Archive of Ages. It lies under the main campus of the Archive of Ages and stretches beyond the boundary of the island to accommodate every single knowledge the Archive has accrued over the years. This carriage has a similar presence to the magic that allowed the Understudy to exist.
Old Man Jiminy barks an order in a foreign language and the carriage moves. The way up the Northern Trench Pass is bumpy and muddy, but after a while, you can no longer feel the rough trail, especially as the carriage speeds up beyond what you know a horse-drawn carriage could do.
There is a window on the door of the carriage and you can see the heavily forested area of the Northern Trench Pass passes by faster than you expect.
{{Is anyone actively looking out the window along the way? Make a Perception check if you are.}}
"what do you suppose will be waiting for us at the Trench? Apart from this wall it seems like there's still a lot of activity. We may have to keep our guard up even after we complete this job."
The landscape along the Northern Trench Pass is lush with verdant forest. Once in a while, you see animals running freely without a fear of hunters. As you continue your way up the pass, you begin to notice that the terrain is not quite smooth. In fact, the terrain is very rocky and uneven. Still, you experience neither a single shake or a bump from within the carriage.
About one - one and a half hours into the journey, Eremoz and Drexon, you notice a figure laying still on the side of the trail slightly hidden by foliage.
Cob, altering between sleep and probing with intense curiosity the dark space below the seat, jolts upright at the sound of the whistle and voice. He grabs his fiddle and bow, and flits up in the air.
The carriage slides to a halt acompanied by a yell and a curse from Old Man Jiminy.
You open the carriage door and steps out. You are caught off guard for a moment as you see that the carriage's wheels are missing and the carriage has been hovering about a foot off the ground.
It doesn't take long to find the figure. It is of a half-elven male dressed in the messenger guild uniform. Tears of blood marr his cheeks and a part of his body had been picked by critters. His bag is spilled around him and you notice among a pile of letters and packages is a black ornate box, similar to the one the group is carrying.
Cob moves over to the dead messenger, looking around to make sure whoever did this wasn't still here.
When he spots the box, he moves his hand like he's picking it up but doesn't actually touch it. At the same time he whispers "hocus pocus" and a shimmering, spectral hand picks the ornate box up.
He examines if from the safety of the spectral hand.

Can i see closer for a second?
Karm would like to try and figure out if the box is just a replica or one of those that were sent with valuable contents. 8 +6 for arcana or investigation

Drexon leans forward as he spots the figure lying in the foliage, watching it as the carriage passes by.
His curiosity peeked, he grabs the crystal from his pouch and makes a quick gesture.
A loud whistle sounds followed by a bellowing voice shouting, “Stop the carriage!”.
Cob, altering between sleep and probing with intense curiosity the dark space below the seat, jolts upright at the sound of the whistle and voice. He grabs his fiddle and bow, and flits up in the air.
