Walt conjures a vine-like whip out of the ether. He lashes it at the four dead hands menacing Bendrak, but the wily hands sense it and nimbly dodge. Transforming into a glowing, cosmic form, he fires a ghostly, luminous arrow at one of the crawling things. But it, too, misses its mark.
This time Tuuli takes a beat to center herself, drawing an arrow and fitting it to the bow, then pulling and loosing, her hair wafting up like the arrow pulled a breeze past her as it flies away.

Walt hears his friends grunt and groan from the other room as the hands continue to attack. He rushes towards the room, launches a luminous narrow of radiant energy at one of the hands and it misses wide! Frustrated at his lack of a poor aim, Walt curses in goblin. He shouts the incantation for the spell thorn whip and he hits! He lashes one of the hands attacking Bendrak and pulls the hand 10ft from Bendrak.
movement: move as east 2 spaces into the doorway, makes his attack and the steps aside west one space to clear the way. bonusaction: ranged spell attack 7 to hit for 10 radiant damage. Action: cast thorn whip at the hand attacking Bendrak. 15 to hit for 5 damage. He pulls the hand 10 ft away from his friend.
Baldar unsuccessfully swings at the hand clawing at her leg.
Walt, still glowing and glittering like a galaxy of little lights and barely humanoid in appearance, launches another ghostly, luminous arrow at one of the horrid things. He misses.
His vine-like whip, however, strikes its target, destroying it and sending it flying back toward the doorway where it clatters to the floor, inert. Bendrak is now free of the hands. Only one remains, clinging to Baldar's armored leg. Walt steps aside again.
"Boggin', bowfin, scabby, lavvy-heided bawbags!" Baldar lets out a string of dwarvish curses. "I hate those bloody things. Next time we see red handprints all over the place, I'mma going the other way." She sits down heavily and takes stock of her own injuries, as well as Bendrak's. "Bendrak and I are feelin' a bit rough. We might have to consider going back to the cart and seein' if we can rest up a bit."
Tuuli glances at him to make sure the farmers aren't trying to leave their confinement, then allows herself to stare open-mouthed at Starry Walt. "Wow. Walt... you're... glowing."
She blinks away her surprise and then turns to the others, gathering with them in the room with all the dead hands. She begins prying her arrows out of the wall. "I found a bunch of rings, like wedding rings, in the chest in the other room."She shows the group the thirteen rings. "Do you think they belonged... to them?" she nods over at the dead... deader hands.
"I'm all for resting you guys up, but I'm worried about the folks who are missing. Still, you do look like you've seen better days."

“Oh yeah. Shoulda mentioned that to ya. I have all sorts of tricks up my sleeve”
Walt smirks at Tuuli and snaps his fingers and with that, the constellation along with the luminous glow slowly fades away.
“Now, I’m worried about the missing folks too. But we won’t be finding anyone if we lose Baldar or Bendrak here. We should rest. We can go back to the cart, or we can take a little cat nap in one of the other houses. Maybe one without handprints on the walls?”

"OK, let's head back to that first house we checked out. There weren't any hands in there. At least...none that we saw. I have a feeling these hands live or travel underground; these ones probably came up through there," she points to the hole in the floor. "I don't remember seeing any holes in the floor in that other house." Baldar gets up with a wince and heads out into the hallway towards the kitchen door. She tries to listen through the door to see if the activity in the room next door disturbed the farmers. She checks the rope "lock" making sure it is secure, then when the others are ready, heads over to the first house they visited.

Tuuli destroys another crawling, clawing hand with a well-aimed arrow. Two remain.
Bendrak, Walt, and Baldar may act next!
Baldar tries to slash at the one on her leg but the proximity makes it hard to swing and she goes way wide, cursing in Dwarvish.
(7 to hit)

Baldar flips the axe in her hand and instead of trying to swing the large weapon at her own leg, jabs down with the shaft at the claw.

And with that, combat ends. All six hands lay motionless on the floor, destroyed.

(Where to? Rest here? In a neighboring house? At the cart? Or no rest? It is mid-afternoon or thereabouts, I recall.)
