Drux shakes his head having hoped for more from Volo. Shrugging his shoulders, "Well I guess we could focus one room or floor at a time. But we will need resources. This is going to be a process, slower than I think I would like it to be. But maybe if we decide our goals for this place and then plan from there.”
At the silence extends and noone seems to answer Cat's question, Lore clears his throat. "Perhaps then, we should explore. I'm fascinated to see what your new property entails. Hopefully nothing too sinister."
A small sprite briefly appears in his shoulder. "Meet Kess, by the way. She will be helping us." The sprite nods once, slowly, then disappears accompanied by a very brief low buzzing sound.
Piers re-emerges from the cellar storage, popping up just in time to see the sprite. "Oh, hello Kess. Good to see you." He smiles warmly.
Turning toward the upstairs, he remarks: "Plenty of bedrooms upstairs, so that shouldn't be a problem, Lore. Still need to work on getting us furnishings for those, though."
To Cat, he pats her shoulder. "I can talk to Melannor about getting you that letter, I'm sure he sees you as reliable after we completed that job for the Enclave."
Volo ponders for a moment, scratching his chin, and then nodding "i'm sure Renae would be happy to help the ones that saved his life start their own business. i will send the message to him, do not worry. melanor could be a good idea too! but you need to have high renown with the harpers to try. . . i guess trying woudn't hurt. right?" volo says. he looks at lore's shoulder, gazing at the sprite with a cautious look "a sprite, huh? i've heard that fairies tend to be quite the pranksters. . . well it can always be just some superstition." volo says, shrugging "well, i hope you manage to do it, piers. as i said, i'm very excited to see this place opened up. i have to go now. . . i will talk to renae when i get the chance" volo says, waving goodbye as he opens the door to leave
Cat smiles "Thanks Volo, Piers"Turning her attention to the newest member "The sprite is so cute, no need to hideKess." She shrugs and takes the lead in exploring the next room
Lore smiles at Cat, "Young Kess finds the world -- especially cities -- a little overwhelming at times. I'm sure, that once things settle down a little, she will be more forthcoming. But for now, especially if we are to explore, discretion is the better part of valor."
Once a cozy dining hall with a large oak table, now stacked to the brim with various piles of junk. Broken furniture, old crates, and piles of dirty linen make moving through this room challenging. A metal-framed, wooden spiral staircase on the west wall leads to the third floor. Looking over the piles of debris, you notice a door leading south to a spare room.
Lore shakes his head, "Only when other people can. But, ghosts can't see them either...I think."
There is a faint breeze and the sound of small wings moving up the stairs as Kess moves near Drux. He hears a faint voice, "Do you mind if I stand on your shoulder?"
(( Assuming Drux is in agreement, Kess will stay with Drux, invisible, and looking for threats while maintaining contact with Lore; hopefully this can be considered help for Drux perception/investigation ))
Cat: Working open the stuck door reveals a spare room. The finer linens of Trollskull Manor are neatly stacked into piles here. Some are ripped and moth-eaten, but a few of the better protected sets are still in good condition. Locked double-doors lead out to a small balcony facing east with ornate, iron spiked railings. A few potted plants have been left out and are long-dead. You can get a good view of the east side of the Alley from here. cat doesn't find anything interesting here.
Drux: The spiral staircase in the Hall ascend into an Upper Hall. Unlit oil lamps and peeling wall-paper decorate the walls. A second spiral staircase to the north continues onward to a locked attic hatch. Directly ahead to the east, a doorway leads into a library. Another two narrow doors lead to small privies. Two finer, locked doors to the north-west and south-west lead to bedrooms. Finally, a south-east door leads to a larger private bath.
Now that Cathern is next to Drux she tries the door to the north she checks it for any thing dangerous and if there's some kind of trap and if its locked.
(Rolled an 18 on the sheet it'll be on the game log.)
opening the door proved to be difficult, as it seems to be stuck. cathern puts her shoulder on the door, pushing with her body, and finally gets it open. Opening the door provokes a sudden flutter of movements and angry caws, as a family of ravens is disturbed. The three ravens quickly fly away through a hole in the roof in this former bedroom. Black feathers flutter through the now still air. The bed here has been converted into a large raven's nest, replete with all sorts of junk and trinkets like tree branches, bones, pieces of wire and wool.

on the door on the south, The attic storage room is cluttered with dusty decor - the thick dust here is stirred into the air and catches the light as the door is opened. A stack of paintings sit precariously in the north-west corner. They mostly appear to be in fairly good condition and depict a wide variety of subject matter: from pastoral landscapes to aristocratic portraits of nobles. A few old mounted animal heads, such as elk and bears, lay protected under a white sheet. Old oil lamps and lanterns are scattered among the objects. Old musty bedrolls are propped against the eastern wall. A stained sheet covers something special in the south-west corner: the icon of the Manor, a dusty troll skull.

“Plenty of more peaceful spots in the woods on the outskirts of the city.” Piers replies as he follows Cat.

“Sure little one. Let’s see what this place can offer besides talking dolls.”

”Kess, let them know we have a couple locked doors. And we’ll keep moving upwards.”
Drux walks in the direction of the next staircase
The spiral staircase leads up into a narrow, unlit hallway with two closed doors leading north and south. The floors are creaky and coated in dust.
"I guess this is your room Lore" She bounds after Drux.

Lore seems a little distracted, then relays Drux's progress. He shrugs, wrinkles his nose, then follows upstairs.
Now that Cathern is next to Drux she tries the door to the north she checks it for any thing dangerous and if there's some kind of trap and if its locked.
