You can add a level to your current class or multicalss into something else if you have the stats to meet the requirement. It'll give you new class features as you level. The armory doesn't have any magical gear, but has a variety mundane items. So if you want a better set of armor, or extra ammo, or a different/extra weapon or something it might be there.)
Deekin will play a soothing tune while we rest. "Beginning at 2nd level, you can use soothing music or oration to help revitalize your wounded allies during a short rest. If you or any friendly creatures who can hear your performance regain hit points at the end of the short rest by spending one or more Hit Dice, each of those creatures regains an extra 1d6 hit points."

(Missed this post. Probably wouldn't have a climbers kit. It's a trade and commerce city, so not a lot of reason to have much climbing gear around in general, and probably not something you'd find in the armory either way, unless maybe it was somewhere doing a lot of mountain fighting)
You spend an hour resting and recovering from your wounds, then Dawn remembers the prisoner you sent back to the keep, asking if they learned anything from the man. "Actually," the guard replies, "We haven't been able to get anything out of him yet. You guys wanna give it a shot?"

I will cast Disguise Self (my last spell before I take a long rest)to make myself look like the attacking Kobolds and spin up a story on how I need help escaping and then try and find out the reason behind the attack.
After waiting 5 minutes and nothing happens I suggest we go back to the keep and check in with the governor

How does leveling up work? Do we get points to put into skills? And what kind of items are up for grabs in the armory?

I think if you throw Deekin in with him, he might mistake him for an ally especially if he goes in half naked. What do you think Deekin?
