Faera pulls off some epic Matrix moves as vines shoot through the air around her but cannot find her to grab hold
VC D: Attacks Illithir: 8
Perhaps all the vibration from Illithir's attacks have interfered with its vision and movement, because he is able to easily parry the vines that reach out to hold him.
VC F: Damages Ghurr (already got him): 9 bludg.
VC G: Attacks Thurodim (w Adv due to Reckless): 19
VC G Dmg: 8 bludg.
Though his fury powers his reign of carnage, it leaves Thurodim with no will to avoid attacks - instead he simply takes it, and lets his anger at being Grappled and Restrained yet again fuel him.
Faera's turn, and I need another Death save from Mala. A reminder that if you roll a 1 it counts for two fails. Then it's Thurodim's turn.
Ghurr's usual pleasant demeanor is being sorely tested by this plant creature that's grabbing hold of him. He again tries to slash and hack and push at the vines with his glaive, slicing up and down and bashing out with the end.
Attack1: Attack: 13 Damage: 9
Attack2: Attack: 10 Damage: 8
Bonus: Attack: 10 Damage: 7
"Maybe not angry plants," Ghurr says as he hacks away. "Maybe like zombie plants. Bad magic control them."
I should note that, unfortunately, all 3 of those missed. The grip on Ghurr must have been just a bit too tight.
The blade fell over the enemy as its body started to change, adapt. All of Ilithir’s instincts and experienced told him to move his blade, but he didn’t. Instead, he pressed his attack and cut through the enemy, though it remained alive. Filled with ire the creature lashed with one of its arms.
The strike robbed the elf’s lungs of air for a moment. Sharp pain followed suit through his torso, as the vines crept through his armor. He was hurt, grappled, restrained. The sword is no longer a viable option. The argent decided sheathing his weapon and pulling his arcane focus.
“I’ll be back soon.” Ilithir said winking to the horror soon after Thurodim’s scream. With a rogue smile upon his lips, he whispered arcane words. His vision was taken by silver as mist hid his form and dissipated only to reappear thirty feet away. From there he moved towards the bleeding druid. “No time for sleeping, beauty.”
As the man rested his hand on her shoulder a silver glimmer emanated from his irises. Energy flowed from his body, turning into a small healing pulse. That should bring her back to consciousness.
“I am counting on you to hold the plant thing by your side, seaman.” If the creature escaped the half-orc then maybe Mala would soon get knocked out again, this time with his company.
Notes: Ilithir spends his bonus action to cast Misty Step and moves 30ft into Mala's direction. Then he moves as close to her as possible, avoiding melee with any enemy and after reaching her spends his action to use Healing Hands. Mala gains 5 HP.
Due to some confusion on my part, that turn from Illithir belongs to the last round, meaning that instead of a second Death save Mala is awakened with 5hp. As your crushed lungs gasp for breath the world starts to fade away, blackening at the edges until all you have is a narrow tunnel of vision in which Thurodim is tearing through these creatures, fury writ across his roaring face. Into that tunnel appears the shining face of Illithir encouraging you to stand and hold your ground. You feel your ribs creak and groan as this shift back into position, your lungs expand and you can breath freely again. Mala gets a proper turn this round, though she still feels very rough I would imagine.
VC D which would have attacked Illithir instead moves to the next nearest of you, Faera, but I'll keep that it missed along with the others. It moved up one diagonally to the left.
Seeing herself start to be surrounded by the creatures, and a bit overwhelmed once noting Mala had been crushed a bit. She looks over, relieved that she is awake again. Renewed with this knowledge, she decides that the creatures need to slow down and using a drop of molasses out of a tiny vial in her pack, she casts it out on all the remaining vine creatures.
She then moves 25' to the West, hoping to get out of reach of any of the creatures.
(WIS save of 14 or they are affected by the Slow spell.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Mala quickly casts Blade Ward (as Bonus Action) then finally manages to draw her blades in this battle. She attacks VC H, hoping to stay away from the other one. (Shortsword Attack: 17 Damage: 8) (Shortsword Attack: 12 Damage: 6) (Shortsword Attack: 8 Damage: 10)

VC H got annihilated by Thurodim, do you mean VC G, the one between you and Thur? Or VC F, the one holding Ghurr?

(As a group they rolled a 3, for a total of 2. Not very wise creatures.)
Splot splot splot, tiny globules of molasses land on each of the creatures, representative of the magic at work here. The creatures look like they are having to push against the very air itself - the curling and looping of their vines once like a writhing ball of serpents, now seems knotted and straining.
In their slowed state they are far easier to target and hit. Mala's flurry of sword strikes creates a pile of wood on the floor till just the core of the creature remains - Thurodim appears in her vision to smash the rest of it into the carpet before launching himself at the next one, the one holding Ghurr. Chunks of gold-leafed vine litter the floor around it, and it looks incredibly unsteady. It still holds tight to the bugbear, but it looks like one good blow would finish it.
Remaining are also VC D by the wardrobe, and VCs B and C in the top right corner which had been focussed on Faera, now escaped from their clutches.
As soon as she opened her eyes, Mala jumped back into combat and made steel rain against the enemies. Faera escaped the monsters by her side and uttered arcane words he could not understand, making the horrors lose energy. They became slower and the elf was happy for it. His course of action was now all but clear – there were three targets standing in range, one of them already considerably hurt.
“I believe I have a promise to fulfill.” Ilithir raised his hand towards the creature, if one could call it so, that stood in front of him. “Returning in pure energy, ugly one.”
His eyes flared silver as his whispered arcane words of his own. Two crackling bolts of pure force, argent like the hair of the man who conjured it. One of them bended and went unstable, hitting no target at all. Could be worse, he admitted with the voice of his mind. Could have hit someone on this side. The second beam was proper and found the enemy, but its strength alone was unlikely to have it killed. Amidst all of that it was reassuring to see Ghurr free of his binding. The party was entirely free once again. They are likely to finish everything before I get to cast another Eldritch Blast.
Notes: Ilithir casts Eldritch Blast on the enemy closer to the closet. First beam misses with a 9 to hit and the second I believe to hit with a 21 (6 force damage). All of the terrible rolls on the log.
Ghurr easily pushes loose from the very damaged creature, wooden vines pulling apart under his huge hands.
The first of Illithir's beams curved and goes wide, but the second strikes it in the shoulder. There's an explosion of wood, splinters peppering the wall behind it, and it joins the one that had been holding Ghurr in looking very badly off.
Though she has moved, Faera remains the closest of the party to both B and C. They both move, attempting to get close enough to reach her with their viney grasp. Their movements are sluggish, pushing against the air, and C is unable to get close enough to attack this turn.
VC B: 17; dmg 11 bludg. Faera is Grappled and Restrained again.
VC D: Having had a hole blown in it by Illithir, it stumbles slowly forward towards Ghurr, the closest of the party, but it's magically imbued slowness prevents it from getting in range.
VC F: With Thurodim right next to it, it doesn't have to move anywhere. It reaches out for him. Attack w Adv due to Reckless: 23; dmg 8 bludg. Thurodim is Grappled and Restrained again.
Wis save for the Slow: 18. As one they break the effects of the spell, and begin to move normally again.

The massive green half-orc lets out an appreciative grunt to Ilithir, relieved that Mala is back on her feet again. Thurodim then charges off and swings Skull Cleaver twice over his head to cleave the next evil plant thing.
Action: Attack twice with Skullcleaver, attacking recklessly, -5 to hit +10 damage)

Once more entwined in vines, Thurodim ROARS and swings Skull Cleaver twice over his head to cleave the evil plant thing.
Action: Attack twice with Skullcleaver, attacking recklessly.

Although almost blinded by fury, the half-orc still calls out to the others. "SAVE MALA, SAVE HER NOW!"
