OOC: Nothing else to be found in any of those a-f rooms?
Judas: "I say we go bring some religion to the good folks to be found at the south central chamber that friendly goblin mentioned..." he states deadpan, in his most sarcastic voice.
The south central chamber is a room that contains a giant diseased rat that is strapped spread-eagled onto a wooden bench. It looks like the rat is suffering from horrible tumors that look woody and fruit-like. There are vials and containers on the various shelves in the room, and the room smells terrible.
As the rat is cut in two, it explodes in a gross gore ridden splat. Balrog roll for gore and describe your result. Varth, the vials seem to contain a liquid that may or may not have been used on the giant rat. It smells awful.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Gore: 1
As Balrog’s hammer makes contact with the tumors they rupture in a spray of sickly white pus that flys out towards his companions. Globules ooze down the rat’s mashed body and mix with dry blood to make it shiny again. Bone becomes exposed and is now the only sign that the wrecked thing was once a mammal and not just a mass of gore. The sweet smell of the putrid decay is almost unbearable, even for the battle hardened adventures.
OOC: where are we now I can’t remember, one of the lettered rooms, right? We need to make our way to 56 I presume guys.
Balrog announces to the group, “Right, I think we should find this infernal tree, even I don’t like the work of this fruit mess... it dosnt bode well for anyone.. I say we chop the bloody thing down and burn it”.
You enter a walled clearing. The walls are about twenty feet high, which is less than half the height of the cavern's ceiling. Several varieties of plants grow around the perimeter of the clearing, including a few suspicious-looking saplings, but their importance pales before that which stands at the courtyard's center. Beneath the fungal light grows an evil tree.
It's blackened, twisted limbs reach upward, like a skeletal hand clawing its way out of the earth. Before it stand a few twig blights, a heavily armored young human make with a shield and sword, a young blonde woman in a robe fit for a noble, and a middle-aged, bearded human male wearing a hooded brown robe and armed with a staff an sickle. The younger humans have black eyes and gray skin with the texture of bark.
Belak the Outcast is the druid with the beard. Standing next to Belak are Sir Braford and Sharwyn Hucrele. There are three twig blights guarding all three of them.
Balrog looks at the tree and growls under his breath, “this rot must be burned.. The Serpant will not coexist with diseases such as this”.
Brog then sticks his hand deep into one of his pockets and removes a small pouch. He summons a small witch light and sets the pouch ablaze. It catches quickly and goes up in a small puff of black smoke. When the smoke clears a small humanoid creature with leathery bat-like wings and a tail ending in what looks remarkably like a stinger hovers over the ground looking at Balrog with its head cocked to one side.
Balrog simply stares it down until it lowers its head in submission.
OOC: Balrog casts find familiar to bring forth an imp.
Belak notices your approach, and says, "Hold a moment, you know now what you do!" Bradford and Sharwyn slowly turn around to face you as well, but so far, no one has made any hostile moves.

"I have a bad feeling about this. If we have a druid working with goblins and a tree growing underground, this does not bode well.."
Judas murmurs to himself "Drow?"

Balrog growls, “Phil goblins are the scum of the realm ye should know that! I agree with Judas let us bring “religion” ta the goblins”.
Ugg smiles. "Shall we introduce them to the gods of the dead?"

There are no other humanoids in the room.
Varth goes and checks the vials and the containers and wonders what they contain.
Judas: "I think this is where they experiment with the supposed fruit this magic tree produces."

Balrog walks over to the rat and swings his hammer two handed down on its head in disgust.

Damn, you nailed that one, good job, haha!

THE GULTHIAS TREE

Ugg shifts his sword between his hands uncomfortable with the use of magic. "What is this tree and where is the food I was told about!"
