This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
“Ahaha” Balrog doubles over “Alas that bleedin’ kobolds stopped chirping!”
Balrog recovers and wiped a tear from his eye, he turns to his fellow travelers and says “Calcryx here told me that the goblins took her from the Kobolds, but the Kobolds themselves held her captive as well. She was locked down here and understandably hungry, so I made a deal with her... she gets to eat Meepo and we take her to the surface in return for not turning us into a buffet. I believe we should keep going, find the goblins and destroy them, and discover what treasure we may... what say you?”
Turning to Calcryx in draconic Balrog says, “I know yer hungry and want to return home, but what would ye say to helping us hunt the rest of the goblins... ye can eat all the kills we make too, then when we’re done we can all leave the Citadel”.
(Currently, I've only been waiting for stuff Varth could possibly do and some life stuff just happened, so yeah...)
Varth looks at what just happened and is in total, complete shock.
"I-I-I... what? Did that just really happen? In the name of the Nine Hells, who's gonna' guide us through this entire place now? I'm pretty sure this gnome here hasn't seen the entire depth of this place, and neither have any of us. That kobold was our only guide in this place. Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. I never should've left Candlekeep..."
Calcryx eyes Balrog with a combination of hunger and mistrust, and for the time being, the dragon wants food and to leave.
"MORE THINGS TO EAT TO THE WEST. LETS GO. BETTER BE RIGHT OR I EAT YOU AND YOUR FRIENDS. I HATE THIS PLACE, I WANT TO LEAVE!"
So what we have here, now, is a very interesting situation.
Calcryx, being very young, has the intelligence, and the attitude, of a spoiled 8 year old child. You all agreed to help the kobolds find Calcryx, and return her to her original slavers. Meepo was in charge of making sure Calcryx was ok under kobold slavery, and now he's being digested. So here are a few choices:
- You could return Calcryx to Yusdrayl, the kobold queen. Because you have her in your possession, it is unlikely the kobolds will attack you on your way back to her. - You could press forward and, possibly, if your rolls are good enough, keep convincing Calcryx to fight for you and kill the goblins. - Honor your promise and let Calcryx free at the first sign of an exit.
CONSIDER THIS: Calcryx is a chaotic evil monster. It is VERY UNLIKELY that you will be able to negotiate, control, persuade, or manipulate her for long. We have to keep things realistic here.
Balrog addresses the group, “Right you lot.. I’m pretty persuasive, convinced this dragon here to aid is against the goblins... but, alas a dragons a dragon... what ya say to traveling a bit west with her then letting her go when we see the first exit?
“I don’t trust those Kobolds and killing goblins is the one thing we have in common with her right now, I believe she’ll help us long enough to do a little killing.. then it’s us, or her.. if we don’t have an exit.. I know that” Balrog mused impassively.
What might once have been a cathedral is now a goblin lair, thick with the filth of years of goblin life. Scores of wall and floor mounted sconces filled with violet-glowing fungi provide illumination. Dozens of goblins go about their daily business, which involves a lot of rudeness and violence. Along the southern wall is a heaping pile of assorted items, including wagon wheels, broken armor and rusted arms, chests, small statues, antique furniture, and artwork.
There are a total of 40 goblins in this area, and 1 huge bugbear. 4 of the goblins look like warriors, who are all talking to the bugbear and arguing about who's going to try and wrangle Calcryx. The rest of the population are goblin commoners.
Erky whispers "This must be the goblin cit-!" but upon seeing all the goblins, and combined with a ravenous hunger, Calcryx smashes through the opening and roars.
Judas is a deer in the headlights, mouth agape (literally), head swiveling between Calcryx and Balrog. In all his 124 years, he's never seen ANYTHING like Calcryx, and the fact that Balrog apparently has him wrapped around his finger is impressing the heck out of him.
"Part of me wants to study Ms. Calcryx here, and learn all I can from her. Part of me is saying 'watch out'. I think the 'watch out' part is winning. I say we find the nearest exit and let Madame free!"
Ugg laughs in glee at the thought of killing so many goblins and takes his sword in both hands while beginning to stride forward ready to slice all foes in his excitement.

In the pandemonium of seeing a baby white dragon with a god complex, the goblin commoners scream in terror and run like rats to safety. Calcryx, her hunger getting the best of her, ignores the goblin warriors and the beastmaster, and begins eating the population, in a fit of rage and appetite.
Because there are goblins everywhere running around, screaming and bumping into each other, THIS FIRST ROUND ONLY ALL ATTACKS will be made at DISADVANTAGE ON YOUR INTENDED TARGETS.
I think everyone is afraid of the dragon haha!

That's when the stampede of fear began.

Last to know and first to be blamed...
As a free action, can I regret my life choices?
Judas, once again standing there mouth agape, starts to laugh from a combination of fear and glee.

Yeah, go for it. Remember being at disadvantage because of the pandemonium.
