Neela has been walking around the edge of the clearing looking for tracks trying not to pay too much attention to the conversation with the orc. Deaths should be heroic, worthy of a story. Those unfortunate folks who die through accidents, sickness, or at the point of a blade without a fight, always left Neela feeling melancholy. But that was the way of the world. She sincerely hoped this orc would take the smart choice. She does nothing, but continues stalking the edge of the clearing, watching proceedings from the corner of her eye.
Yasmina - The orc ponders your question for a bit, then sighs heavily before saying, "My name is Grutok Doomspear. I am the chieftain of the Doomspear tribe. If you encounter them, you will die." He says this as a matter of fact, with no bluff or bluster. He winces and continues, "But, if I can return to them I can convince them to leave this place."
All - Grutok looks down at the wound in his side and the blood on his hands, "I will not survive, wounded as I am and without a weapon. Letting me go like this means my death as surely as a blade to my neck, only not as quick." Grutok Doomspear looks to you all and says, "Heal me and allow me my handaxe and I will return to my tribe. We will leave this place and return to the Cloud Peaks. We will leave the villages alone." He holds a large closed fist over his heart and says, "On my honor as chieftain of the Doomspear clan."

Sinak pauses, holding the hand axe and considers his words, having just heard a good reason, but considering whether he is being lied to. He watches the facial expressions and intonation of the orcs words to try and tell.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
Krugh turns to the orc, surprise and disbelief in his voice.
You claim to be Grutok?
Krugh walks toward the Orc again, but not in a menacing way.
I would have you prove it but know not enough of Grutok to verify such a claim. It however seems you have lost the protection of your closest allies. This is dangerous for someone in the middle of a power struggle within your tribe of Doomspear.
Crouching down beside the orc, Krugh continues.
Even if you escape here and return to your tribe, will you still have enough support to retain the title of chieftain?
"Then I say we should give Grutok Doomspear, chieftain of the Doomspear tribe, the chance to prove his honor." Yasmina says, taking a step forward again, looking at the others in turn with firm determination.
Sinak - You detect no signs of deception as you watch Grutok speak.
Krugh - Grutok looks genuinely surprised for a brief moment when you mention the power struggle before his face takes on a resigned look once more. The expression hardens a bit when you question his ability to retain the respect and support of his tribe, "Either I will and we leave these lands or I won't and nothing changes. My death guarantees that nothing changes."

Sinak looks from one side to the other, meeting the eyes of all involved before coming back to Grutok. "It is the sense of the court of the Wood that we shall hold you at your word, Grutok. I will heal you and give you your axe, we will let you return to your tribe. Hold true to your end of the bargain. Now I will hold true to mine."
He hands the handaxe back to the orc and turns him on his side to get a better look at his injuries, applying a dressing with torn strips of cloth, then calling forth on the Raven Queen once more to heal him for 3 points of damage, helping him up to his feet.

A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
As Grutok is healed and leaves, Neela trots over and excitedly scampers around the group, jabbering away.
"Wow, that was amazing! You guys really are mighty warriors! You defeated the orc tribe without even spilling blood and that is very mighty indeed. Not only that but you gave that orc a chance to have a worthy death deserving of an epic story. Just...wow. Although it's a bit odd that he said they weren't working with the black dragon. Just coincidence then? The dragon just happened to attack right when the elves had been decimated by the orc attack? I'm not too sure about that. Anyway, shall we continue on to the druid? I'm really excited to meet a proper druid. I bet they have so many great stories to tell."
All - Grutok closes his eyes as the healing magic washes over him. After a few moments he opens them and looks at his side where the wound used to be. He grunts and nods, then grasps Krugh's forearm before standing. You see him grimace a bit from the pain of his remaining wounds, but he doesn't appear to be in danger of dying. Grutok accepts his axe and checks the edge before putting it in a loop on his belt, "Thank you." he says simply, looking to each of you, "I will convince my tribe to leave these lands or die trying." Now that he stands, you see that despite his age Grutok Doomspear is still an imposing figure. The years may have added wrinkles and scars, but they've taken very little muscle and left very little fat. Grutok walks over to the nearest dead orc and repositions the body in a more dignified position. He brushes his large fingers over the eyelids, closing them as he bows his head and mutters a prayer. Grutok does this for all of his fallen tribesmen, gathering them together in the center of the clearing. He takes one long last look at them before turning and following the tracks left by the remaining orcs.
You all watch him go until he is out of sight. Turning back to the row of dead orcs, you see a startling sight; an ethereal blue creature sits on the other side of the row of bodies, watching the spot where Grutok left. You feel its focus shift to you, regarding you all silently. It appears to be a fox with three tails. What would you like to do?

Yasmina stands solemnly and watches as the old orc chieftain sends his warriors on their last journey with dignity. As he speaks and leaves she simply nods and smiles warmly.
As the fox with three tails appears, Yasmina recalls what the elves mentioned about a fey spirit living within the woods that would likely to help. She cautiously moves closer and speaks in warm friendly voice. "Greetings, I am Yasmina. Me and my companions are seeking to save two inneocent children from the clutches of a black dragon. Could you assits us in this endeavour?"
Thelan lets out a resigned sigh as Sinak heals Grutok but knows it is the right thing to do for the Orc chieftain, especially if it can prevent further bloodshed in the future. He turns and makes eye contact with the chieftain. “Go then with peace and goodwill. I wish you the best in convincing your tribe to leave these woods, remember well my earlier words.”
Thelan watches solemnly as Grutok pays his respects to his fallen warriors and leaves the clearing when his eye catches the three tailed fox, the fey spirit of the forest the elves had described. Thelan hurries to join Yasmina in speaking with the creature to help her request. “Greetings, spirit of the wood”Thelan gives a short bow of his head “I am Thelan, servant to the Summer Court. You know all that transpires in this forest, what can you tell us of the Black Dragon that threatens it so we may save these children?”

All - The fox watches Yasmina as she speaks. It cocks its head to the side when she mentions the children and black dragon, then scratches behind its ear briefly with its back leg before returning to its sitting position, three tails wrapped around it. You see small pink flowers blooming at its feet where there were none before and watch as a falling leaf passes through its form as if it weren't there at all. When Thelan speaks, the fox looks to him intently. It takes a tentative step forward, lowering its nose to the ground before stopping and sitting again. It considers him for another brief moment, then walks delicately up to him. The fox walks around and beneath him, weaving between his legs. Thelan feels a static charge raises the hairs on his legs as it does so, but that is all, no pressure from its body at all. The fox spies a beetle lumbering toward the dead orcs and gathers itself to pounce upon it. The fox leaps onto the beetle, but the insect continues its ponderous crawl until lifted suddenly by a profusion of pink flowers that suddenly bloom beneath it. The beetle struggles for a bit, then falls to the ground and resumes its crawl. The fox walks back over to Thelan and stands upon its back legs, forepaws resting on his thigh. Thelan feels the electric tingle and a sudden jerk as the fox pulls Moonpetal from his belt and darts away! The fox pauses on at the edge of the clearing and chirrups gleefully as it spins in place and staring at the group.
"A playful little helper."Yasmina says with a soft laugh as the fox seems to want them to follow in some kind of game. "Shall we?" She says to the others, ready to follow the lead of the capricious fey spirit.
Thelan is momentarily taken aback when the fox grabs Moonpetal and takes of with it, only to see it pause at the edge of the clearing like it is teasing them. A dark thought crosses his mind If I lose Aelar’s blade I will never be able to forgive myself.
But Thelan knows the whimsical and mischievous nature of the Fey. Who better than him, after all? “Yes, I think he wants us to follow.” Thelan replies to Yasmina and Krugh. Suddenly he disappears in a swirl of autumn leaves and reappears across the clearing next to the fox and addresses him in Sylvan.
Sylvan:
“That is not yours little one. It is sworn to protect Ravenglade Keep. Please return it and we will follow you.”
(using Fey step feature, not using any of the after movement features)
Thelan - The fox prances in a circle while keeping one eye on you before stopping and resting with its bottom on the ground. It drops Moonpetal and looks into your eyes, "Well met child of autumn. I will aid you in your quest." You hear the voice of the fox in your head, it has a child-like androgyny to it but also the weight of wisdom. The fox suddenly spins another quick circle, causing pink petals to erupt into the air around it and fall slowly spinning to the ground, "First, I offer words of warning. Not all is as it appears at first glance." A petal lands delicately on the fox's nose, not passing through its form like the leaf before, "Like the fly-trap flowers that grow in these woods, enticing their prey with sweet scents before revealing themselves as deadly traps." The fox suddenly jerks its snout and snaps its mouth shut on the pink petal, "You might find your quest cut short if your discernment is no better than that of a fly." The fox picks up Moonpetal and walks it over to you before setting it at your feet, "Second, I offer you words of hope. The children yet live. They are in danger, but they are clever, and they have each other." The fox backs away from you and says, "Last, I offer you a gift of the forest. The magic within will only work within the bounds of these woods, but they will serve you well. Fare thee well child of autumn." The fox sits and looks upward as another eruption of petals fountain from the ground around it. The fox is obscured by the pink torrent for a moment before, as quick as it began, the eruption stops. Where the fox sat, lies a bundle of something wrapped in large leaves.

I think we should heal him and allow him to walk free. I believe Grutok to be a chieftain that stays true to his word.
Looking back to Grutok. He offers his hand to help him stand and says.
May you stay true to your word and triumphant over your rivals Chieftain.
