“Well, the real question is whether our presence would help Grutok or make the situation worse. I would guess it would be the last.” Thelan sighs as Krugh moves to get a better look at the Orcs, then turns to Yasmina “He may be the only one of us that could help. Still, you should have your little helper keep an eye on them in case we need to help Krugh”he pauses and considers “or Grutok.”
Krugh & Razul - You manage to get close enough to see and hear what the orcs are saying without being spotted. Two battle-scarred orcs are standing off against each other in a glade surrounded by bleached, sickly trees. You see Grutok standing with his arms crossed over his muscular chest, staring dourly at the orc across from him. The other orc, despite seeming younger and brandishing fewer scars appears no less formidable. The rest of the orcs, all of whom have red crosses painted on their faces, watch the spat, grunting in affirmation or spitting in disagreement. The younger orc has long black hair that is dreadlocked and gathered in a bundle that hangs to his waist. It sways a bit as he gestures and says, "You're a fool old man. It is time for our tribe to rise up and take these lands by force. We're tired of being forced out of fertile lands and into the icy mountains. We're tired of raiding farms for skinny pigs and moldy potatoes. With the dragon we can take what we want, tear down the walls that were built to keep our kind out and oppressed." A few of the orcs behind him holler and cheer in assent and the younger orc crosses his arms with a smug look on his face. Grutok says nothing for a few moments as he stares at the other orc, then calmly he says, "And you would kneel before the beast, trading your freedom for oppression by another name." Grutok grunts and spits, "No true child of Bahgtru would kneel." The younger orc's eyes bulge and he rages, "You would dare? YOU!? WHY ARE HALF OF OUR BEST WARRIORS DEAD? BECAUSE OF YOU! YOU LED US TO THESE WOODS! YOU UNDERESTIMATED THE STRENGTH OF THE KNIFE EARS! YOU!" The group behind him roar and beat their chests in anger as the younger orc continues, "YOU, WHO DIDN'T EVEN HAVE COURAGE TO DIE IN BATTLE ALONGSIDE THOSE WHO TRUSTED HIM! BAHGTRU DESPISES THE WEAK. HE DESPISES YOU." The younger orc reaches behind his back and draws a greatsword that was strapped there, "And now, I will rid us of that weakness." Both groups of orcs begin hollering, beating their chests, and slamming their weapons together in a rhythmless cacophony. Grutok draws his handaxe and begins circling the clearing with the younger orc.
Yasmina quickly relays what she knows to Thelan, Sinak and Neela. "Should we intervene or let this play out? Grutok must still be greatly weakened and will likely not stand a chance against his young challenger."
“If we openly intervene, that will make Grutok seem weak, that others needed to intervene to save him. It won’t look good in the eyes of his clan. Is there any clandestine way that we can help him? Any way that we could help without being seen?” Sinak looks for cover to approach the scene, perhaps to offer healing at a distance or other aid to Grutok. ((Is there any cover within 60 feet of the scene?))
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
A wizard is never late, nor is he early, he arrives precisely when he means to.
All - There is cover up to 30ft from the combatants, but you will need to make a Stealth check to get within line of sight of them. You may make the check with ADV since their focus is on Grutok and the younger orc.
Krugh - At the moment the two orcs are only circling one another and offering evaluating strikes of their own, so there isn't a lot to go on, but you think that if the younger orc outmatches you, it isn't by too much.
Neela replies to Sinak "I am very good at inspiring people but I have to use my words so the other orcs would know. Oh, I also learned how to make illusions! I can make it sound like this Bahgtru is speaking to Grutok. Hehe that would be very tricky." She chuckles to herself a little at the idea then also tries to sneak forward.

All - You all manage to get just within 30ft of the orcs and stay hidden. You can see Grutok and the younger orc circling one another in a small clearing. The younger orc swings his large sword at Grutok, who knocks it aside with his much smaller handaxe. The blows and parries appear to be testing maneuvers, but suddenly the younger orc spins and brings his blade down at Grutok in a vicious two-handed slash!

Grutok reverses his handaxe in a backhand swing that deflects the deadly blow as he spins just outside its arc. Both groups of orcs shout and cheer at the display of martial prowess. You may all take one turn before the younger orc makes his next attack against Grutok.

Neela nods to Yasmina and whispers back with a cheeky grin "I have no idea what Bahgtru looks like or sounds like, so I'm just gonna guess". From her hidden position, she takes out her hand drum and traces a pattern on its surface. Her lips start to move but no sound emerges. Instead a great booming masculine voice (that sounds vaguely like Krugh) echoes over the clearing.
"My warriors! Bahgtru speaks! Heed my words. Grutok is my champion and speaks truth. We are too proud to serve a pitiful black dragon."

"Well, let's just say he's very hard to spot." Yasmina says to the half-orc with a friendly smile.
huh, well. We should go check this orc party out for ourselves

"Well, we should tread carefully I think. We wouldn't want to rile them up if old Grutok is about to convince them to leave." Yasmina calmly suggests.
Krugh will move quietly through the forest on approach of the arguing orcs

"No, wait!" Yasmina says futilely as the half-orc moves away on his own.

Krugh continues to watch as this looks like a duel and not an all out brawl.
But if the confrontation escalates into a brawl he will fight by Grutoks side.
