I remember Jess/Todd wondering how the guards overheard them before ^^ I couldn't say anything at the time cause spoilers but at that moment as a DM I had to bite my tongue so hard. Sometimes in mysteries stuff might not make sense right away though.
Ah yes, Jess was pretty steamed about that. She’ll be glad to hear the truth about it.
Corvus looks to see if a note says the amount of money in the bag. There was a large stack of papers on the desk however, he could take the time to quickly rifle through the papers for any kept accounting. (Intelligence check to see how fast he does.) Corvus wasn't there for the conversation with Gwen and Drezmir to head to the first floor. Though he knows to avoid Gilded he'd avoid the treasury of the mansion so perhaps heading to the first floor would be best for avoiding Gilded.
Gwen looks to Kocino and to Drezmir when they talk of hunters.
"Why are you in search for a hunter Kocino? If I may ask."
Gwen looks to Drezmir for a moment as she purses her lips upon hearing Corvus's aid in the battle.
"Well.. Be careful.. He most likely has his own motives for aiding you though."
Gwen looks to Drezmir as he talks of Simon and him possibly "keeping" tabs on her. Drezmir seemed.. Reluctant to the idea. She had smiled softly before looking at him with a serious expression. Gwen see's Drezmir pull his sleeve over his wrist as he looks away talking of him being a threat and of no use.
"H-Hey.. Don't talk like that okay? I'll ask Gilded or Jess for help but.. You aren't a danger to us. I trust you, I don't know what you're hiding under there.. Yes I noticed Drezmir I mean.. I do keep an eye on you. ..Wait that sounds terrible! I-I just.. I.. Oh jeez! I just.. Huff.. I mean.. We haven't known each other that long sure but something's wrong I can tell. Thank you.. For stopping Simon.. Honestly you've saved us all. Him too, he was a danger to himself."
Gwen had stopped right before they left the first floor as Drezmir told her the last bit.
"T-Three..? Truly? And none of them warned me of this before heading in? Corvus well he made it obvious.. And Vex at least was honest to my face when he talked about "looting" the mansion but Jess... She was dead quiet.. I.. Thought she understood. I guess not, wait one abstained? What if that person said something than? I just.. I mean Glazing Winds does have laws for prisoners like him. He'll pay a price and be under careful watch by me personally until we can do something about his powers. I'm sorry.. I can't just let her deliver justice and kill him. Brother or not... I'm sorry Drezmir I trust you.. And Gilded and Kocino too. Corvus I hadn't and Vex I wasn't sure but I did trust Jess before. ..Well regardless of that she still risked her life fighting him. I'll make sure she is rewarded like everyone else. I owe you all after all.
Jess looks for the commander only for him to come across them. He seemed full of sweat with some soot on his clothes. He had a few men with him but fewer and Simon was not among his number this time.
"Simon is secured and under watchful eye, he has woken up but he's not in good shape still. I've men in the cell with him in case he moves even the wrong way. We'll set up a way to keep him under close 24 hour watch. Can't trust a mage like that to his own devices. At least until we can find away to remove his abilities and powers. ..Ho! Is this the thief! I must say I owe you all a reward for this! And for Simon! Now.. It most likely won't be much gold but.. I've other rewards for the lot of you! I've got some nice armors and weapons at the weaponary. We'll also hold a celebration in you're honor! Free room and board tonight at the manor if you so desire! I can afford some money from my coffers to supplement you're reward as well you've earned it."
OOC Yup ^^ That isn't to say that passive perception can stop people from eavesdropping though (Unless super super high.) So still good to make perception checks and such espionage can still happen ^^
For the players favor and sometimes against their favor as well. I didn't wanna make it sound like I was advertising that it can't happen to them.
After looking at the papers and deciding that he does not want to go through them, Corvus changes his decision and puts the 200gp back into the bag. He doesn't feel like chasing a thief, especially not with that blasted paladin around. Closing the bag back up he takes it and the note and starts wandering towards the exit. As he does, he keeps an eye out for any of his companions, or any guards.
Drez simply nods in response to Gwen's statement about Corvus.
When she responds to his statement about being a threat, he gives a weak smile. "Honestly, I don't really know what I'm hiding either..." Reluctantly, he lifts up his left hand and lets the sleeve fall back to reveal the mark. He stares at it for a moment before shaking his head and letting his arm drop--only to unconsciously pull the sleeve back down. It felt strange, he'd never tried to hide his scars before, but this...he had a feeling that this wasn't really connected to his scars or the ritual he went through--at least not in the way he'd initially thought. He lowers his head...Gwen trusts him? Of course she wouldn't think he was a danger, she hadn't seen what he did to Thomas. I don't know if your trust in me will make a difference...not if I'm not the one in control. He wanted to say it, but he found he couldn't. Instead he lifts his head and smiles warmly, "I appreciate your words, and really I don't need any sort of reward. I ventured from home to get stronger, to gain experience, not to enrich myself. I'm just glad I could help ...wait...you've been keeping an eye on me?" He seems confused, "I appreciate that...but if its because I got knocked out of the fight with the Jet brothers, or what happened with the cultists...I promise I actually am capable of handling myself...even if it doesn't seem like it at times." He laughs, then returns to a more serious tone, "I hope that Simon comes back around. Whatever he's done to himself looks to be wearing him down. I hope to the gods that it is reversible."
He goes quiet for a moment, "Jess is probably the most logical person in our group. To her, Simon was a threat that needed to be eliminated at all costs...keeping him alive is a risk, I won't deny that. She wanted to eliminate that risk, and I suppose that would have been the smart thing. Still, just because it was the logical thing to do, doesn't mean it would have been the right thing to do." He pauses, "I won't say who voted in what way. If they wish to reveal that to you that is there decision. I'm sure they will appreciate whatever reward is offered to them. I don't know what it was that kept Jess and Vex with us in this fight, so there is something to be said for their willingness to risk themselves. We might not agree on everything, but I do believe that they are all good people."
"It sounds like you're doing a marvelous job. If you don't mind, once we get back to town I would like to personally inspect your method of containing Simon. I have every confidence in your ability to secure him, it's more to set my own mind at ease, so I can rest easier tonight. And who knows, as one who can cast spells myself, I may notice some detail that was overlooked, that will keep all of us safer."
"I would also like to hear of your plans for keeping him contained long-term, as well as possible justice that might be meted out to him."

Gwen blushes looking away as Drezmir ask about her keeping an eye on him.
"W-Well yeah.. Were friends right? I mean.. I.. Nevermind."
Gwen quickly takes the chance to change the topic when he shows his arm. She looks all around his arm trying her best to understand it.

Arcana check.
"I know it's risky but.. Simon may be able to help understand this sorta thing."
She nods to him when he talks about being able to handle himself. She wasn't sure how to respond so she had simply nodded again. Though Drezmir had told her he hoped Simon's case was reversible.
"Yeah.. I hope so too. If not than.. I'll consider other options but.. I wanna explore other possibilities first. Even if it is reversed though he's got some things to answer for.
She looked to Drezmir understanding his desire to hide who voted for what. When it came to Drezmir she trusted him with whatever secrets he wanted to keep.
"I understand.. It isn't out of cruelty but I still will be alert when it comes to Simon. I mean.. I already was so he wouldn't escape but even more so now. If she runs on logic alone as you say.. She may not let him go so easily yes? With that being said I may go to the dungeon now to watch over him. After the thief is found of course.. Though I'm sure he is under many guards."
She had opened the door on the first floor out of the manor. Only to see a large crowd of people? Cobble and Jessica was even in the crowd. Why were they here? Was it because of the fighting before?
With time Corvus had left the manor himself leaving the bag behind. Tracking down Gwen and Drezmir, however on the way here he had seen the artifact room in the mueseum. Perhaps he'd take a look at the dawnblade? Or some other bobbles? Or perhaps he'd simply regroup with Drezmir,Kocino,Gwen while Gilded was luckily not around. Well it was lucky for Corvus anyway.
The commander looks at Jess as he begins to guide the group out of the manor. Though he see's the thief in Gilded's care he doesn't ask for them to turn him over.
"Normally I'd ask for that thief you've got but.. All our manpower is going to watching Simon. So I'll trust you guys to decide his punishment, as for Simon I can show you now if you want. Before the celebration. Course if you'd rather rest first I understand, I can also watch that thief until you guys rest up of course."
Kocino looks to Gwen and Drez. “I’ve been gathering some local ingredients and figured we could get some wild game so I could cook up a feast. It’s been a busy couple of days, figured we deserved it.”
“I refused to vote. We offered to talk and end things peacefully. But I can not give support to killing someone who is incapacitated.”
The fairy does nothing more than grunt as he's stripped of his weapons and the gold and placed firmly in custody. As the dragonborn talks to him he scoffs lightly, squinting his eyes a little. "No harm? Tell that to my employer, he'll give me hell if I don't bring him that money." He sighs, looking at the ground. "So I doubt it."
As the group leaves the manor he mostly stays silent, waiting for something to happen that concerns him.
Corvus did take the bag of gold, he just put the 200gp back in with the rest of it. (He has plans for that) Since he did walk through the museum, assuming he is alone in there right now, he will look at the objects in the room. He does look at the dawnblade, but he doesn't touch it. However, if there is anything else in there that looks magical or like it holds some kind of secret, he will take a closer look at it.
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Seeing Gwen blush, Drez feels heat go to his face as well...he'd nearly forgotten about what happened outside of the secret tunnel. Chuckling, he rubs the back of his head and says, "Oh, of course. I've...honestly never really had friends before this. I mean...I've got my brothers at the monastery, but that's not really the same thing..." He trails off, shaking his head.
When Gwen starts inspecting the mark on his arm, he looks a little uncomfortable. He's put together that its somehow related to the kitsune, that much is obvious...and that burning... has it been there since Thomas? Was this what the fox had meant when.... He frowns at the mark, really looking at it for the first time.

"I suppose it's worth a try...who knows, maybe we can convince him to get rid of whatever magic he's used on Robin and...possibly on you."He sounds a little hesitant, "Though I'm not sure it's the greatest idea to try just yet...but at the same time it might be better to ask while he's still weakened from our fight. He's less likely to try anything that way. I'm just not sure Jess will be to happy if we remove his gag. She's pretty adamant that he stays restrained as he is."
"Oh, you're going there now? Perhaps...I'll accompany you. Maybe we can get this sorted out sooner rather then later, at least for you and Robin anyways. Speaking of Robin, where is he? I didn't see where he went before we left."
When she opens the door to reveal the crowd outside, Drezmir suppresses a smile. Perhaps this wasn't a common sight here, but he was quite used to it at home...still, what drew them here? There wasn't any sort of banquet going on, so why had they come?
To Kocino he says, "Ah, I see. I would be glad to help out with that. ...It seems I need some practice with my crossbow anyways."
Vex notices Amon, and walks over to him. “Hello there. What is your name? I am known as Vex by the group of adventurers I am with.” Seeing the time to be in the afternoon, he turns back to Amon. “I was once a criminal too, earlier in my life. I was until a few weeks ago, In fact, I was a contract killer. I hope they aren’t coming for me since I walked out on them.”
Gilded tells the commander thanks for watching the thief, and hands him over. He looks at Amon and says. "Who is this employer? You seem kind of scared of him, but I doubt he's more scary than we are."
Amon pries his eyes away from the floor to look at Vex as he approaches. "I'm Amon," he replies, "Nice... to meet you." He looks to everyone else to see if they, too, will introduce themselves, but waits some more as they ask their questions instead. "He comes from the Outlands, but I don't know his name. Or his face; he normally operates through henchmen. So I guess I'm just scared of what he's gonna make his henchmen do." He presses his lips together until they form just a thin white line. "I don't know if there's anything you can do to stop him. He's pretty hard to track down from what I've heard, and he always finds new people to replace the ones that die or get lost." He shrugs, suddenly uninterested. "So there'll always be someone else there to kill, cheat, or steal." He turns back to Vex. "So you were a contract killer, huh? What made you stop?"

"Not if we cut off the head of the beast, then the whole operation will die, and you won't have to fear him. My name is Jess, and I'm invested in protecting Glazing Winds, including if it means stopping this mysterious Outlands boss. Perhaps the first step is to track down the henchmen. In fact, it sounds like they may come to us, or more specifically, to you. If you will remain in our custody and stay close to us, then perhaps we can begin that journey together of tracking him down through these henchmen."
“Why I stopped? A life of crime is worse than no life. I could redeem myself if I ran from my past. But I will never escape fate, Amon. They will come back to recapture me. I just know it. So I’ll enjoy my time here while I have it.”
Corvus looks through the cases of artifacts and such, most of it looks to be more relics of a bygone age. Ceremonial armors and blades that were in no shape to be used. A few arcane focus's but nothing more unique than what Corvus himself used. He did however find a tome in a glass case. The case was locked but the tome appeared to be locked, a red case with magical energy radiating from it. This would be the item to stick out most for the practical Corvus.
Meanwhile with Gwen and Drezmir she stared at his mark but sighed softly. She couldn't figure it out, she had smiled softly as he rubbed the back of his head. With a small chuckle she looked at him.
"It's a relief to meet someone as awkward I am hehe.."
She said jokingly as she bumped his shoulder with a soft chuckle. Drezmir looks at the mark, it appeared to be a curse.. A curse of control? Though it's power was only so much.. But it was clear the mark was trying to grow on his person. Gwen looked at Drezmir when he talked about Simon remaining gagged.
"He may be powerful to be sure, but outnumbered and bound even he has his limits. Wait.. Where did Robin go? Damn I wasn't watching him.. Though on a lighter note I think a feast sounds like a great idea! As for our crowd here.. I'd have to guess it was all the sounds of the fighting going on."
Cobble and Jessica step forward to Kocino,Gwen,Drezmir with a nervous crowd behind them.
"What was all that fighting for lads?! What happened here? Is lord Simon okay?"
Cobble had asked first looking to Drezmir and to Kocino for a few answers as they've helped him out before. Gilded had handed Amon over but Jess seem intrigued in traveling with Amon and keeping him under their custody. As they began to head outside toward the crowd around Drezmir,Kocino,Gwen the commander had looked at Jess offering Amon back.
"If you so desire you can have him, normally I wouldn't hand criminals out like candy but I'd say I owe you a favor to be sure. If you can find a use for him than I will have faith in you're instincts."
Kocino addresses Cobble. “Simon has been taken into custody. He was dabbling in some dark powers and caused many of the issues in town.” He points out the bruises and cuts that the group has. “He attacked us after we tried to talk with him. Even Robin stayed his hand.”
Awkward? Am I really? Drezmir thinks. He knew his social skills left much to be desired, but he hadn't realized how awkward he actually was until then...
When it dawns on him what the mark actually means, he farrows his brow. That blasted fox... of course, he'd had his suspicions. Still, now that it was confirmed it seems he can feel the mark weighing on his wrist like a manacle. He needed to figure out how to get rid of it as soon as possible...he would have to be careful in the meantime.
He clenches his fist, pulling his sleeve back over the mark. He is angry, but he knows there is nothing he can do about it right now. So, he might as well put it at the back of his mind.
"A feast? Huh, that sounds like fun," Drez says. "I've never attended one before, so it will be an experience." He laughs.
When Cobble and Jessica come forward, Drez nods at Kocino's statement, "Don't worry though, he's alright. Whatever he's been doing behind closed doors has taken a toll on him. Thankfully we got there before his..." He trails off, unsure of how much he should divulge to these commoners. It should be Gwen's decision whether or no to tell them right? He glances at Gwen before looking back to Cobble, "Well, I'm not sure how much I should say, so I'll let Gwen and the Commander explain what they will."

Jess, too, meant to inquire about his employer.
“Is there something we could do to help? This employer sounds like trouble, and doesn’t mind hurting Glazing Winds.”

Jess points out,
"Not if we cut off the head of the beast, then the whole operation will die, and you won't have to fear him.
