He rubs the shattered sword he carries with the stone in the hilt contemplating when would be a good time to bring up the subject.
When they get to the inn, Gilded tries to sit near them both and as the lady with scales is taking their orders and gathering the drinks, he listens to Drez start in about the dragons and decides to wait until an opportunity arises.
Milda had looked upon Drezmir with a puzzled expression as she wrinkled her nose.
"You're head doesn't appear to be bleeding.. And you don't seem drunk. The Red Daggers? A drug turning others into dragons? Forgive my rudeness but it all sounds too far fetched for me to believe. I did hear roaring but Dawn protects us from Dragons and to create false dragons? I just.. Don't know."
Her eyes had begun to brighten as Drezmir asked for the Sake.
"That'll be 15 gold sir!"
Arthur had begun to sputter his ale a bit.
"Gods that's expensive!"
Kirai had cocked his head whilst raising an eyebrow at Corvus's question.
"Our" next move? I don't believe I remember saying we should all travel together. For me and my party however we will report to the kingdom of this travesty. I shall inform my father as well as the royal family."
Arthur had begun to chuckle awkwardly as Rex began to hide his face in his leather vest armor. Merlyn had looked to Kirai than Corvus.
"Corvus helped us Kirai I know you're not a people person but.."
"Our interest had aligned that was it, when I arrived Arthur was dying and bleeding out. No attempt was made to help him nor was it apparent anyone was going too. He was a soldier in a mutual cause Merlyn don't let you're feelings confuse you."
"Kirai! It was a serious fight! Not everyone can remain calm and collected in those situations"
"I can forgive some novice mistakes but plenty of them look collected to me. Not everyone shares you're views Merlyn you do best to remember that."
Merlyn had given Corvus an apologetic look before sitting up and slapping Kirai with all of her might. A resounding slap of flesh as the eladrin's flame tipped hair begins to flare. For a fiery display his face was cold and caculating. He had only looked away (due to the tilt of his head.) Before glaring his eyes back at her like hot red daggers she had gripped her fist with tears in her eyes.
"Leo just died.. You don't have to treat people like this! Milda.. Please set me up with a room."
Arthur had stood up raising his hands in a calming matter.
"Guys guys! Calm down for a second please."
"I am calm"
"Yeah.. Takes emotions to get upset in the first place."
"Merlyn!"
And with that she had begun to head up the staircase of Milda's tavern leaving behind some gold at the bar counter. Arthur had sighed a moment but sat down and toasted with Jess with a light smile. Arthur tries his best to change the subject as he looks to Jess,Gilded,Merlyn.
"We ran into a whole platoon of mountain men.. Than Drezmir had a private talk with this weird masked guy. This masked guy was helping these Red Daggers.. Or were they helping him? He ended up fighting alongside Drezmir though.
"Wait.. You talked to him? The Red Daggers are bad!"
"Huh? But they helped Drezmir!"
"Yeah well.. They attacked us on site one of them was really out for Jess until Leonard and Gilded could get more involved"
Drezmir sighs, "I guess I wouldn't believe me either if I were in your shoes. Believe what you will, I just thought it best if others knew of the potential threat."
He grimaces a little at the price... great Fulgur, he'd hardly had to pay for much at home since the monastery usually supplied him with whatever he needed, but... he could tell that was expensive. Still, it was cheaper then the drink from Germuid, and he could understand the price for shipping...
With a glance at Arthur he says, "Ah whatever. I've never had money to spend before, and right now sake from home sounds like a good thing to spend it on." He hands over 18gp, smiling a little and saying, "A little extra for listening to my...outlandish, yet assuredly true, story."
Drezmir is a little surprised by Kirai's outburst, "Whoa, hold on... I'm pretty sure our interests still align. We all want to find that woman and put an end to this..." It seems he couldn't get a word in however, and perhaps that was for the best. The last thing he needed was to worsen the argument.
Once Kirai was gone, and Arthur and Meryln began talking about the Daggers, Drez turns in his seat to face everyone. "I...kind of had the feeling that the Daggers were no good from the start. They didn't want to talk to us at all--were clearly hiding something, likely the drug and who knows what else--and they just seemed overly hostile even though we were on unclaimed lands." He pauses, "The man in the mask was called Fox. He said he was working with the Daggers, but he did explicitly warn Kocino and I not to get involved with them. I don't know why he was working with them, and he wouldn't tell me his real name." He sighs, "I do have to say though, the mask he was wearing... could have been an indicator that he was... that he had lost his honor. The Oni mask is a symbol of shame in Romalia, so unless he was wearing it as a joke, he might be a dishonored or rogue samurai. I can't be sure though... and he seemed like a good man. He, helped me out there even though he didn't have to." He gives a small chuckle, "Fulgur... if he hand't taken the time to shove that potion down my throat he might not have fallen to the dragon."He shakes his head, "I really don't know what to make of him, but... Something tells me he isn't where he wants to be."
He could be very wrong in his assessment of Fox, but the man had helped him. And his actions on the battlefield were enough to gain Drezmir's trust. Even though he was in the company of these supposed Red Daggers.
Corvus sighs as the three start to argue. He doesn't seem upset by Kirai's response, but is genuinely surprised when Merlyn up and smacks him. As Merlyn and Arthur continue to argue, his flat gaze flicks from them back to Kirai. "I apologize for my assumption. I simply thought that it would be beneficial if we continued to work with each other. We are both after...almost, the same thing after all." He pauses taking a drink of his water. "If you do not wish to travel together then that is fine with me. However, I for one would like to at least stay in contact." He looks back at the elf. "I for one, would not take to kindly to having my prey stolen from me, and I do not think you would either. I can say now, that if my group happens to find this woman you seek, they will not hesitate to end her, whether you are there to strike the final blow or not." As he waits for his turn to order, he starts looking over his cyber arm, once again pulling out the bloodstained cloth to clean it as best he can. He continues to speak as he does this. "I will not object if you wish to cut ties here. I'm not particularly worried that you will kill my target before I get to him even if you do happen upon him. He is more than a mere mortal after all. You target on the other hand...well, she may have found a way to enhance herself, but in the end, she is still just an elf."
The women had looked at Drezmir with a bit of disbelief but not the usual look of distrust that comes with such disbelief. She had heard the group argue and about their friend passing away.
"Ahh.. The cute kid with the spiked hair? I'm sorry to hear that"
The woman had continued to serve everybody. By the time Drezmir had made his order he had offered a generous tip. She had offered a light giggle and a playful wink.
"Thank you~ I never mind listening to a good story though!"
As the argument began to finally disperse Kirai had glanced over with Drezmir looking him over for a bit. Arthur had looked at Drezmir when he talked about Fox. Kirai had looked to Corvus with a soft sigh.
"I just believe that traveling in such a large group will make me easier to track. We can head to the capital together however if you desire."
Kirai looks back to Corvus and offers him a light not.
"The same can be said to you. My group won't stop to listen on killing this demon you search for if you are not around. I don't expect you to stop you're group nor can I be expected to stop mine even if they do enjoy calling me boss. They are actually rather.. Willful as you've now witnessed.
Kirai had looked back to Drezmir for a moment as he had begun to spoke.
"I'll admit you weren't in the battle with Arthur. So you hadn't a chance to stabilize or heal him. That doesn't mean I immediately trust you however. Even if it appears Arthur has taken a liking to you. It is true that we both want this woman gone."
Arthur looks at Drezmir and Kirai for a moment before thinking for a moment.
"At the capital we can probably by two sending stones to keep in touch."
"Might be safer than traveling with strangers perhaps."
"Huh? No we can do more separate too. You can trust them though Kirai trust me."
Arthur,Rex,Kirai had all listened to Drezmir and Corvus. Merlyn after adding her warning to Arthur on the daggers had finally completely took her leave. Arthur had looked at Corvus and nodded in agreement while Rex had simply stayed quiet. Rex wasn't close to anyone and anyone with a passive perception of 12 or higher would see that he was actually trying to sit as far from Jess as possible. Kirai had looked at Corvus when he spoke of her just being one "Elf." Arthur had sighed softly a bit.
"I don't know about competing or what but.. She's really powerful. We've seen her blow past many squads trying to arrest her. In fact we had fought her before not too long ago and if it wasn't for.. Well we got lucky. She would have killed us, honestly I'm not sure why we chase her.. I know a losing fight believe it or not and we can't beat he-"
"Quiet! I don't wanna hear that right now."
"It's true Kirai, and honestly no offense to you guys but I doubt you could kill her as of now either. You're all damn good fighters and I've only seen half of you fight but if you're all around the same capable.. It'd be a massacre honestly. It wouldn't be much different for us at least as of now."
Kirai had growled lightly as he crossed his arms looking away from Arthur. He had managed to keep up a playful tone and a soft smile as he looked to his friend before looking back to the group.
"I know nothing of this demon you search for but if it's as dangerous or more so than her he'd be best to avoid too until the scales can be made even anyway. That's why we should focus on other matters for now right Kirai?"
"Hmph.."
OOC For Drezmir's 18GP for roleplaying I will award everyone 100EXP and Drezmir a D12 inspiration that'll last overnight OR (Not and) he can have a D6 in temp HP that'll last till used.
I messed up my last post. I meant to write for Merlyn to overhear Arthur's talk of the Red Daggers (The last talk) before she stormed off. But Merlyn has stormed off not Kirai. Just her and Arthur having that last bit on the Red Daggers. Sorry it was a bit of a rushed post cause of IRL stuff.
Also Amon's PC is busy IRL so for now Amon will be "Sulking" due to stuff from his past being brought back up.
Jess’s passive perception being 14, she may notice Rex avoiding her.
When she has a moment she will sidle up to Kocino (he being in the other group when they had split up and also not involved in conversation like Drez) and ask him about Rex, “Do you know that guy? He seems to be avoiding me for some reason.”
"That is a fair point." Corvus replies to the elf, "I will not argue with that. I do agree that keeping sending stones would be beneficial as well." He nods as the elf continues to speak of his companions. Seems the two groups are rather similar. He also appreciated that this man didn't seem as foolish as the others. Trust was not something to be freely given.
He glances at Arthur as the knight speaks of the woman, "Oh I was not saying that she would be an easy kill. To the contrary, she's far out of our league...right now anyways. I have a good reason to believe that she has some sort of Pact with the Demon I hunt. If my theory is correct, that would mean she only holds a fraction of his power." He sounds almost bitter as he says this.
He continues, "What I mean is, she is still a mortal. We know she can be killed. She is not likely to be as strong as the demon itself, but if she is anything to go off of, then the demon will be a far greater adversary."
"Either way, I would like it if we could share information. I know for a fact that she is connected to my prey, which means that any information relating to one, will relate to the other."
When he receives his meal, he falls silent as he swiftly devours his food. Every so often, he glances around as if keeping an eye out for someone that he does not wish to speak to. Occasionally his eyes flick towards the direction Merlyn ran off to, but he makes no move to pursue her.
Drez relaxes a little as Milda gives him his order, he also requests a smaller cup as well, which he fills from his larger mug and offers to Arthur, "Here... you've probably tried it before, but... ah well, I thought I'd offer anyways. I don't drink much so this mug is a little full for me." He gives a chuckle, which fades a little when Kirai speaks to him.
He nods to the elf, "I understand. Based on your concern for your comrades, I'm sure you are a good man yourself. You have my trust if that means anything." He shrugs, "I know its not much in the light of all that has happened, but you have it nonetheless."
He offers a smile, glancing at Arthur as he says, "It would be an honor to accompany you all to the capitol, and a sending stone sound beneficial." He slips a hand inside his pouch, fingering the sending stone that he had yet to use. He'd hoped to speak to Gwen tonight, but from his earlier conversation...it seemed that would have to wait. "I have a stone that will keep my group and I in contact with Glazing Winds. As things progress, I think it will be very useful to all of us if we can share our findings."
As they all talk about the dangers of fighting the elf, Drez can't help but feel like they aren't giving themselves enough credit. He for one wouldn't hesitate to attack that monster if he saw an opportunity, but...he is also confident that Fulgur won't let him die until his destiny is fulfilled. As much as he would like that to extend to his companions, he isn't sure if it does. Nevertheless, surely with both their groups combined, they could stand a fighting chance against a single elf--demon aided or not.
"Perhaps either of our groups alone would not be enough, but if we fought together I think we could stand a chance." He says slowly, "But, something tells me we won't have to worry about facing her to soon anyways. We don't know where she flew off to, much less who else she has working for her. I think we will be much stronger the next time we see her."
He takes a small drink, momentarily diverting his gaze from the rest of the room before asking, "It...seems that you know something about this woman. Is there anything you would be willing to tell us?"
(OOC: No worries. ;) It happens. ...Oh awesome! Thanks! Hmm... I think I'll take the D12 inspiration. :D )
(Full disclosure, I left the private conversation and can’t go back to research, and I can’t really remember which NPC’s went where. There are a lot of NPC’s. I didn’t think Rex was part of my group but actually can’t remember for sure)
(I think that the only person who talked to him was Drezmir. But Rex did show up around the same time that Jess and Gilded did, so I don't know. From what I remember it sounded like Rex hadn't interacted with anyone else yet.)
(Rex wasn't part of our group. Kirai said he sent him to go help the others, but we hadn't talked to him before. You met him at the same time the other group did.)
Arthur had listened as Corvus talked of her only having a fraction of it's power due to a pact that was made with her patron. Kirai had begun to talk rather quietly.
"True except.. She is also a sorcerer so she does indeed have her own power. Plus with this strange research she is up to.."
Arthur too had devoured his food rather quickly along with Corvus eating his food just as quick. Kirai had nodded alongside Corvus in agreement that the two would correspond information when they could. Arthur had looked at Drezmir with a light chuckle.
"Oh.. I don't drink alcohol actually just water for me but it smells really fancy thank you! Sorry to you.. And Jess who got me a drink heh."
Kirai had looked at Drezmir curiously as he spoke of trust almost a flicker of something in his eye but he had begun to do his best to conceal that feeling.
"Hmm.."
Arthur looks at Drezmir with a bit of surprise.. No more of a moment of rememberance!
"Oh I forgot I wanted to head to Glazing Winds!"
"True.. I hear of that place possessing a Dawn Blade and a man who can wield it."
"Nope! Drez said his sister uses it!"
"What..? Doesn't she lack magical talent? Hmm.. Still I do wish to study that blade."
"From what Drezmir said we may find clues of a ritual Ayumi was involved in. We might not travel to the capital but.. If you're friend has a sending stone at Glazing Winds we can give you a call!"
"Than I suppose it works out in the end."
Drezmir had talked about if the two groups had possibly fought together. That they could perhaps defeat her? Kirai hadn't looked completely convinced but Arthur had a light appear in his eyes.
Yeah maybe together! Plus we will be getting stronger! Honestly.. After fighting that dragon I feel plenty strong!"
"Wait.. Did you gain any more power? What about you Rex?"
"N-No.."
"I didn't either."
"Oh.. Just me than! Well we can whip you two into shape!"
Rex had done his best to hide his emotions by this point except that he was clearly nervous but upon that he had looked at Arthur with a different look entirely trying to mask.. Whatever it was he had simply looked down again.
Drezmir had asked Kirai if he had known this woman he had gripped his glass tightly.
"All that matters.. Is that woman took something dear from me."
OOC
Rex wasn't apart of Jess's past group ^^
Rex has only a small interaction with Drezmir so far ^^
The mention of 'strange research' grab's Corvus's attention. He looks back at the elf, "Research eh? Hmmm, that Simon fellow was doing some shady research himself in order to become stronger... Do you have any sort of idea as to what kind of research she's been up to? Perhaps there is a connection here."
"Oh," Drez says. "Sorry. I get it. Honestly I don't drink often. Even if I like the taste of it sometimes, I never drink enough to..." He taps the side of his head with a finger, "You know... addle my mind." He chuckles, "Its fine, I'm sure someone else here will be more then happy to have it." He takes the cup back and offers it to Gilded, "What about you? Care to try something from my homeland?" He also extends the offer to Jess and Kocino, and asks for some more smaller cups for them as well if they accept. It made for smaller portions, but that was fine with him.
When Arthur and Kirai say that they will be heading to Glazing winds instead of the capitol, he nods, "Oh, right. I forgot that was where you were heading..." He almost says something else but decides against it. Instead he says, "I'm not sure you'll be able to see much of the ritual. Unless I'm mistaken, Corvus and one of the manor guards went to destroy what was left of it in the basement." He gives the warlock a questioning look, wondering if he'd taken anything from there as well. Turning back to Arthur and Kirai, he says, "If you are allowed, It could be useful if you spoke with Simon. I'm sure once you arrive there you will be filled in on what happened. I'd rather not disclose those details here, as it isn't really my story to tell." Even if Simon's memories were failing, he wonders if Kirai could manage to gain any additional information from him. "Oh, and... before we left there, we met an elf named Herron. He's from Germuid, and he's looking for the Blushing Bloom. From what I could gather, that flower was somehow related to the ritual at Glazing Winds, and the Red Daggers were searching for it. If you see him...it would probably be good to fill him in." He hesitated a little before saying that last part, remembering the elf's warning. Still, since Heron had given him that warning he felt inclined to believe that he was if not on their side, at least he was against those behind the awakening. So, if they could help him, perhaps he could help them later on.
He listens as Arther talks of growing stronger, smiling a little when the paladin mentions whipping the other two into shape. He takes notice of Rex's expression, but doesn't know what to make of it. He can't tell if the young man was just shaken after witnessing his friends death, or if he is just...a nervous person.
He takes note of Kirai's reaction to his question about the woman, and is a little disappointed by the unenlightening answer. Still, he isn't oblivious enough not to realize that this was a touchy subject for the eladrin, so he doesn't press it. Instead he says, "I see. Well, rest assured that we will find her somehow."
Jess is intrigued that Rex seems to be avoiding her, as she can't really recall interacting with him. She will bring the drink she bought for Rex over to him and sit next to him, extending the drink to him.
"Hello, I'm Jess. You're with Arthur and Kirai and them?"
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Kirai had looked back at Corvus a moment when asked of research was spoken of.
I only know that it is draconian research. Of what nature.. I am unaware.
Arthur had smiled toward Drezmir a familiar look at this point despite being strangers only earlier that same day. He had chuckled when Drezmir had talked about drinking till such a point but had listened as he talked of Glazing Winds.
Herron..? I don't know who that guy is! But I'll keep an eye out! Old looking elf guy? Does he look majestic and serious often? If so he's like a lot of elves from Germuid! Heh..
"Way to generalize an entire race Arthur."
"What? You know it's true!!"
Rex audibly squeaks as she sits behind him as he fidgets slightly away. Looking around the room anywhere to avoid eye contact. Kirai had sighed shaking his head.
"That one is scared of women I'm afraid"
"Haha yup! Rex can't even say a single word to a girl it's actually kinda funny cause Leo! Leo he... Well.. He used to tease Rex about it.."
Rex had stopped fidgeting a moment a bit horrified his friends had outted him so quickly before lowering his head at the mention of Leo.
"I-I'm n-not terrified of women I.. Well I.. A-Ahem.. H-Hey Jess y-yes they are my friends.. E-Even if they tease me.."
Rex fidgets a bit more as Kocino joins on the conversaion his head still hung rather low as he began to grab at his arm squirming around. He had offered Kocino a rather weak wave.

"Hmph.."

For Drezmir's 18GP for roleplaying I will award everyone 100EXP and Drezmir a D12 inspiration that'll last overnight OR (Not and) he can have a D6 in temp HP that'll last till used.
Sy begins playing a tune of his bagpipes in the corner, not seeing a part of the conversations where he would see himself talking at the moment.
Performance:19
Kocino gives Jess a quizzical look. “I thought you knew him. He showed up to fight the dragons about the same time you did.”

Kocino takes the sake from Drez, “Thank you.” He takes both of his drinks and joins Jess in speaking to Rex. “And I am Kocino. It’s nice to meet you.”
