"Damn Black Beast." She sits up, with the rest of her movement she would like to move as far away as she can in hopes of not being caught by the dragon's breath.
Will attempt to stealth away if possible (Heading in the safest direction. No way she's gotta sit there in the open and take hits again.)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
Szazzul will use a Legendary Action to make a Perception Check for the sneaky ranger: 19
The leader will try to skewer Rex with his spear again: 17 for 11 damage. 19 for 10 damage. Add 15 if at least 1 attack hits. *Whoops! His piercing spear is deflected right into the face of a lizardmen warrior. Rex is only subject to the second attack and damage, no bonus damage if it hits.*
Breath Weapon Recharge: 4 (Dragon-barf activated!). Szazzul whips around and flies back to the action. Though ultimately fodder, he is not pleased with seeing so many of his minions being cut down. With great wings beating the air, the dragon lands near Rex (though just out of his reach), but oddly stays it's fury for a moment.
Rex's prisoner ally will make a spear thrust at the lizardman standing nearby: 6 for 2.
The rest of the prisoners try to attack any enemy nearby in the mucky chaos: 9 for 6 against (2) a champion. 22 for 4 against (2) a lizardman. 10 for 4 against (3) a lizardman. 12 for 6 against (2) a champion. 15 for 6 against (3) a lizardman. 5 for 7 against (3) a lizardman.
Due to the clumsy attacks (nat 1s) above, the lizardmen are able to sneak in retaliation hits against the prisoners: 8 and 6

The approaching drums are now clearly resonanting as the sound of a marching cadence. There is a chant raised in chorus with it, but its timbre sounds familiar. You begin to see more clearly that the approaching force bears a metallic sheen across its front and numbers about 40 strong.

Remember when it said Szazzul lands near the portal/Rex, but strangely doesn't attack? Cat-and-mouse!
Szazzul lashes out with his claws, but instead of rending at Taliesin's head, he throws his weight behind the claws and jaws to shove the bard out of his hiding place. Taliesin will need to make 3 STR (Athletics) or DEX (Acrobatics) saves or be knocked out of the portal and prone.
Szazzul's shove checks: 20, 19, 25 . If any hit, then the rolls following will become standard Claw/Bite attacks (attack and damage rolls to follow if successful).

(As we all know, life takes priority over campaigns (sadly). After a conversation this weekend, unfortunately CrispyDM will not be able to continue (see above about that inconvenient "life" thing). While I usually prefer a more a more theatrical way to depart campaigns, action economy and initiative prevent Crispy from doing little more than fading into the wind. If CrispyDM would like to narrate an exit, it will certainly be welcome.)
Moving right along, Szazzul takes a deep breath and exhales a cloud of thick, black smoke. It hangs in the air like a curtain, but causes no actual harm save blindness for those caught within.
