Ashton walks into his room to find it very big and comfortable. It has a huge bed with a bedside table, some shelves, a table, chair, a small and currently cold fireplace and even a bathtub filled with warm water.
Meanwhile, Elmira easily opens the door after perceiving nothing through the door. The room is small and the stuffed with the equipment of one of the dwarves. You can see a plate armor and a warhammer leaning on a chair, as well as a closed chest and a bedside table with a small barrel of bear.

Pandora steps behind Elmira after she comes up the stairs. "Oh wow. So much money and just this tiny room. A little bit disappointing." she shrugs her shoulders. "I’ve spent some ale for our dwarven friends. i think this will give us some time." she giggles.
Dexterity: 23 + 2 = 25 (Unless the chest isn't locked. Then i'll save that for later if i may :))
"Oh a mysterious chest again. I am wondering what's inside. Last time there was cool stuff in it." Pandora sneaks to the chest in front of her and turns back to Elmira "We all know my two colleagues here." she shows her lock pits to Elmira and smirks. This time i have a better feeling with my try.
Elmira grins and nods. "That's so smart, Pandora. Hopefully a taste of one ale is enough to keep them coming too. We should have plenty of time, I think."The shifter steps around the room, trying to take note of what she sees, though nothing seems important. Aside from the chest, anyway. For a moment, her eyes linger on the plate armor, the flea that runs in her brain sending signals about its monetary value, but Elmira ignores it, thinking, No way would I fit into that. Nor my friends here... last time I checked, we aren't all that small and round.
With her attention drawn to Pandora and the chest, Elmira nods eagerly. "Oh yes, let's see what's inside!"

With a clicking sound the chest in front of Pandora and Elmira opens. At first she does not understand what she is looking at but then she realizes that those must be ... machine parts? Strange objects of metal and crystal and all kinds of gears attached, and fine threads woven into it. Beneath it there are some warm dwarven shirts and trousers as well as socks and other wardrobe stuff.

Once inside the room, Carina stretches langorously. Slowly unwinding, she performs breathing exercises to make sure her blood is flowing properly and centering herself. She hopes Elmira and Pandora know what they are doing, but there is likely nothing to be done for that at the moment.
She takes time to write a few lines of cryptic notes in her journal using her personal cipher, not only about the day's events and findings, but also about her new companions. This Palebank Village... good people for the most part. They deserve help. And certainly the disease must not spread.
She remembers her sole meeting with the leader of her faction, and her words... We are the song for those who have no voice.
Another voice entirely interrupts her reverie, beating deep within her heart with a familiar resonant thrum, like the vibrant quork of some vast raven: It is long past time, Carina. You have been merciful in this unforgiving land, but it cannot last. The hunger abides. Shadowfell will have its due. Soon.
Soon, Carina echoes within her own head as she lies in bed, eyes open. Thinking.
„Ok. Now I’m curious what this machine is for.” Pandora looks questioning at Elmira. “This stuff looks expensive. But i like my hands. So I would suggest to leave it here.” she whispers. “Let’s get out here. I see nothing else that is interesting for us. Do you agree?”
I saw some dwarven whiskey on the menu. Maybe they get a loose tounge if I serve it to them. And probably it would help to make them nice eyes.
Elmira looks at the machine parts, but draws a complete blank about what its for... still, she does her best to memorize what it looks like. If some kind of wicked machine appears for some reason, she will know to pay these dwarves a visit. More likely than not, she figured this was 'dwarf stuff.' Or was it supposed to be something gnomes were known for?
"Yeah... I was hoping we would see something crazy! Like... I'unno, the answer to all our problems. Well, I guess if we see these gears again and its bad news, we will know where to start..."Elmira steps away from the chest and nods with Pandora's assessment. She steps towards the door, gives it a quick listen and heads out if its safe. [Perception: 11]

Outside in the corridor Pandora overcomes with tiredness. “This day was exhausting. We should go to bed so that we have enough energy for tomorrow. Do you agree Elmira?”
You all went to sleep that night while the blizzard was rattling at the shutters of your windows. Except Ashton and Xerim, you had no fire in your room, but the warmth from below and the thick blankets kept you warm all night. After all what happened today, you all had strange dreams. Carina even accurately dreamed about some of the things to come, but someone or something prevented her from remembering the next morning.
The next morning, all of you rose from the beds at different times and in Xerim's case, even in different places. Nonetheless, you all met in the taproom of the Frozen Elk again before sunrise, since the sun rises late so high up in the north. Arl Bortock is already working behind the bar again and greets all of you as you arrive. He offers you a good breakfast for 1 silver each and you can also buy some 1-day-rations from him, if you need to.
Xerim has made his way from the temple back to the Tavern as well and so you are all sitting on one of the tables now between some other guests. The dwarves and gnomes are nowhere to be seen. The same goes for the children of last night. They might be still asleep or, maybe, they are already out, doing their businesses.
(You can all use a long rest in your character sheets to reset your abilities and heal. If Anyone, wanted to use one hour of this rest to do something else, please just let me know what it was. @Pandora, you only "sleep" 4 hours as an elf, so you have 4 additional hours, that you could have spend doing something that night.
I would like to introduce my Inspiration/Karma system now.You all rested well and therefore get 5 Karma points each. I Simply add them to you inventory at D&DBeyond now. I wrote the details on how to use this in the campaign chat.)

Elmira dreamed that night. She dreamed... she was a phantom thief! A wolf in the night who stole from the rich! ... And largely kept those riches for herself, but yes she did buy things for sick kids and such in this dream. Still, in her sleep, she could feel her fingers twitching and pinching imaginary picks. She had the taste... Only time would tell if this seed would bear fruit!
The shifter awakens from her slumber in her bedroll from inside Pandora's room. She appreciated Pandora's company so much that night. Its very possible that in a fit of excitement, Elmira opened up about a lot of things which were mostly superficial in nature. Despite Elmira's fairly bada-- appearance, she had the heart of a young maiden. A young maiden covered in dirt and with a budding love for being sneaky.
Elmira flips a gold coin, receives her 9 silvers as change, and joins the others with her breakfast. It's not much of a return of investment, but Elmira pays for Pandora's breakfast too as a token of their growing friendship.
"Stock up? I'm pretty much ready to go! Unless there is a hole in my quiver again..." Elmira suddenly grabs her quiver and inspects it closely. "Ah, good, it's still there." There is a fairly ugly polkadot patch on the bottom of it.

Ashton laughs about the quiver. " Haha, no I don't think your quiver has a hole, but Carina mentioned going to a shop before we left for Croakers, so I thought wr could go there b4 we left."
Carina steps down into the common room of the Frozen Elk just as her name is mentioned.
"Good morning everyone," she flashes a smile as her harmonica dangles darkly around her throat. "Indeed, Elro Aldataur lent us crampons, ten pitons and a hammer, a climber's kit and other gear for one person. But before we trek through the snow to enter what is likely an ice cave, it may be best if we all have snowshoes and crampons, not just one of us. She goes out of her way to thank Arl Bortock and tip him two more silver for the comfort of her room, since she suspects (hopes!) they will be back.
