“So you are the group that moved into this cave recently. I’m not sure if you have all noticed me yet.” Cyro says to Hulil, putting away his shortsword.
Faloniir says, "How much were you thinking? I would be willing to pay you something for the items. Of course, we'd have to see what we were buying first."
“I always wondered who we shared these caves with. The frogs and bats, we knew, but what else… I hope you did not spy out our secrets, little gnome, but in the end I suppose it doesn’t matter. You’ll get your cave back soon enough.”
"Stop that chanting" Fro says to the elf. "What are you saying over there." She pulls a handaxe out and is preparing to throw it at the elf if he doesn't stop the chanting. "I will kill you elf, stop now." Fro looks at the dwarf. "Make him stop or I will throw this axe."
Insight to see if I can tell what he is saying: 14
Cyro grabs his shortswords once more. “Don’t mess with these guys. And the only few things I knew about you guys is you had the sickness, you lived where I couldn’t reach you and you were taking frogs.”
Fro, you do not recognize the language (none of you do)
The elf stutters and stop, then a glimmer of bravery enters his eyes and he meets your gaze. “I was merely praying to my god, it’s harmless. But if you wish it, I will refrain until you leave. Which will hopefully be soon.”
"Thanks" Fro states. "I guess Im a little jumpy at people chanting." She looks at Faloniir and Hulil. "How much are you guys thinking this chest is worth? I will throw in what I have if it helps."
The elf is standing well away from the chest, next to the wall with the painted 5-headed dragon. He sneers at you, “Open it yourself, you look strong enough to manage.”
Fro, we’ll just change that roll to a 13 which is good enough to discover something suspicious about the stone chest. It is shaped to depict a dragon’s head, and opening the lid would be akin to the dragon opening its mouth. The detail is very good, with individual scales being evident, slotted pupils for the eyes, etc. You notice In the dragon’s nostrils is a bit of white powder.
Faloniir, you see that Hulil stands by the chest, unconcerned. But the elf’s body language gives him away, he has distanced himself from the chest on purpose, and even now, as Fro gets close and inspects it, he’s trying hard not to flinch away.
Faloniir will shout, "Stop!" and grab Fro if she makes to touch the chest in any way. He'll then draw his bow and point at the elf, "On the ground, now!" If the man doesn't comply or reacts aggressively Faloniir will shoot to incapacitate.
Hulil pats the stone chest and says,
"Everything's in here. Would you like to purchase some of the other items from us? We need funds for our planned trip."
The large stone chest is carved into the likeness of a great dragon’s head. Opening the lid would be akin to the dragon opening its mouth.
The tattooed elf withdraws a bit and turns away, facing the wall with the 5-headed dragon painting. He begins to chant softly to himself.
"I agree", says Fro, "but she will leave the entire chest" We can take it all back and make sure it was the vials, and not something else."
Hulil backs away from the chest and makes a gesture as if to indicate that you’re welcome to it.
“I suppose you hold all the bargaining chips here. So long as we leave with our lives, that is all we can really ask.”

Hulil says,
”Take a look, I’m sure we can come to an agreement. Old Urgon did good work, and some of the things he brought back were quite nice.”
To the gnome, Hulil remarks,
“I always wondered who we shared these caves with. The frogs and bats, we knew, but what else… I hope you did not spy out our secrets, little gnome, but in the end I suppose it doesn’t matter. You’ll get your cave back soon enough.”

The elf says disdainfully,
“Perhaps you should inspect its contents to aid your calculations.”
Fro walks over to the chest and nods at the elf. "can you open this for me? I would like to see what is inside."

Fro looks at the chest. Does he see any traps or locks?
Perception: 15
If she doesn't see any reason not to. Fro will open the chest and without touching anything, try to inspect what is inside.
Faloniir narrows his gaze at the bandits, suspicious of their cagey behavior.

The elf glowers but slowly puts out his arms and gets on the ground.
Hulil turns on him with a curse and says,
“Idiot, you gave it away!”
