Fro smiles at Faloniir. "I think you just might." She looks around at the rest of the contestants. "Ok, whomever wants to participate, get me your names. So far I have:
Fro (me)
Faloniir
Cyro
Ice walker
Wolfhunter
Any one else? Also tell me who your partner is for the tug of war."
"I'll set up the schedule and we will start tomorrow with the first contest." She looks at the goliaths again. "I wouldn't get too drunk boys, My friends might be hard to beat if you do."
Wolfhunter tugs his arm to get his attention and whispers in his ear (but those nearby can easily hear), “we get a day to plan our strategy.”
Icewalker arches a brow and then the two of them begin to laugh in their loud obnoxious way.
A grizzled old sailor (human) who’s all wrinkles and beard approaches and gives you his name, “Guthrie”.
A large young sailor (half-orc) approaches, quite broad in the shoulder. “Name’s Brash,” she says.
The rest of the crew seems content to spectate.
The day passes with much buzz on the ship about the odds for/against the contestants. The three of you, Fro Faloniir Cyro, get eyed up and down all day long. Icewalker and Wolfhunter can be seen doing exercises, staying limber, and talking quietly together. They drink considerably less booze today and are much quieter, and retire much earlier today. Captain Hightower gives you a wink before heading off to bed himself.
(OOC: DM, just let me know what the rolls with be for each contest, strength, athletics, acrobatics, etc. I would assume for arm wrestling it is just a strength check, so I will go ahead and roll for that.)
Strength check: 20 In game log (Sorry Brash)
Fro wakes up on day 4 with a chill that she is not used to and isn't comfortable with. She shows up at breakfast on Day 4 with an added cloak. Once everyone is present, she stands and announces the contest schedule.
"I have had to increase our participation by one to have an even number of contestants. So Captain Hightower will be our last competitor. We will have at least one contest every day, starting today." She passes around a sheet she drew up, "Here are the matchups and when they will be held. Good luck to you all. If anyone isn't happy with the pairings, let me know."
Day 4 -semi final round for Arm Wrestling
( will start with 8, will end with 4)
Just before Lunch
Faloniir vs Wolfhunter
Cyro vs Guthrie
Fro vs Brash
Hightower vs Icewalker
Day 5 - Finals in Arm wrestling ( will end with 2)
We’ll use athletics for arm wrestling and chest lifting (it’s same roll for Fro).
Rigging climb and tug of war may be slightly more complicated, I’ll think on it.
Brash makes quite a showing for himself against Fro (got a 19 actually), not going down quite as easily as one would expect. A lifetime of hard work has honed his body into an efficient workhorse, but in the end it’s no match for Fro’s overwhelming power.
Wolfhunter sits at the table and proffers his massive arm to Faloniir. “Let’s get this over with, pretty boy, so I can go back to practicing climbing the rigging.”
The captain faces off against Icehunter, and though Hightower faces his fate bravely, he never really stood a chance.
Guthrie sits across from Cyro, ready to arm wrestle. The half-orc is reserved, makes no comments, no judgments play on his face.
So far its Wolfhunter and Fro going to the next round.. This is kinda fun, just to see how it plays out. (19 is good... Fro had her hands full, I blame it on the sickness.. lol)
Guthrie’s eyes widen in surprise as his efforts to bend Cyro’s arm are stopped as though Cyro were a sculpture carved from stone. The gnome gets a mischievous glint in his eye and his mouth twists in a grin, and then he slams Guthrie’s arm down on the table!
Everyone is surprised and quite a few seamen laugh and shake their heads as they exchange money.
Cyro has a strength of 16 and a proficiency In athletics. I guess his arms are nearly as muscular as Fro’s. “You did well, Gurthie.” He says to the half-orc with a handshake. Cyro’s blue—coated body and chill throughout him does not impede his overwhelming strength. He prepares for what comes next by training in the room where they slept, lifting all of his gear (around 70-100lbs or more) with one hand, his dominant right hand, to train it for tomorrow.
At Dinner, Fro will announce the winners for the day.
"Today had a pretty big surprise to some of you, but we are ready for tomorrow. There are 3 goliaths still in the competition, I don't think that is a surprise, and one verry strong Gnome. Maybe tomorrow will be just as surprising. Whomever wins tomorrow is guaranteed at least 1 point, so rest up and be ready."
Day 5 - Finals in Arm wrestling ( will end with 2)
The rest of the day passes peacefully enough. Wolfhunter and Icewalker have been staying limber, and have also been spending a lot of time practicing climbing the rigging. They're getting pretty good at it!
DAY SIX since being exposed to the powder in Hulil's thrown vial
DAY FIVE of the sea voyage
Icewalker is up early today, gazing out at the ocean with a brooding look on his face. Wolfhunter soon joins him. After a small chat together, they approach Fro and Icewalker says with a note of respect in his voice,
"We think the chest lifting should be done today, otherwise the day will be empty."
Wolfhunter adds, in neutral tone,
"It is hard, being on this ship, surrounded by water, dependent on these weaker beings for our safe passage. You know what I mean."
Fro looks at her fellow goliaths with sympathy. "I do know what you mean, we are mountain people that aren't exactly made for the sea. I feel as cramped and confined as you do. I actually have a need more than most." She looks at them a sec and asks. " Do either of you know the way of the berserker?"
She will wait for an answer, then continue with this.
(OOC: depending on their answer, we may come back to this conversation)
"If we do the chest lifting today, it would be Unfair to those of us that still have to do the arm wrestling. We would be struggling against each other while the other 4 get to rest." She smiles. "Im gonna need a lot of strenght to beat you, and that human and that Orc were strong. Guess working on this ship builds muscle."
"Do you guys already have work on Eiselcross? I am going to die if I don't find a cure pretty quickly, I think I have about 3 weeks."
Fro smiles at Faloniir. "I think you just might." She looks around at the rest of the contestants. "Ok, whomever wants to participate, get me your names. So far I have:
Any one else? Also tell me who your partner is for the tug of war."
"I'll set up the schedule and we will start tomorrow with the first contest. " She looks at the goliaths again. "I wouldn't get too drunk boys, My friends might be hard to beat if you do."
She walks off with Cyro and Faloniir.
Icewalker says, “The games start tomorrow?!”

DAY FIVE since being exposed to the powder in Hulil's thrown vial
DAY FOUR of the sea voyage
It should be mentioned that Fro’s and Cyro’s speeds have each been reduced by 5 as a result of their illness.
The seas have remained choppy, but the winds are good and the Captain is pleased with your progress.
Today’s the day of the games, unless there is some RP that needed done on the previous day?
Nope. And Cyro will participate in the strength games, as his strength is 16-17.

Faloniir will chuckle and say, "Do you really think I'm pretty?" Batting his eyes as he offers the Goliath his hand.
Athletics: 15
Wolfhunter got a 22
He wins handily, though he seems nettled by Faloniir’s comment. He wins and gets up and walks away without any taunting or gloating.
Cyro prepares and says “Good luck.” Then they arm wrestle. Athletics: (please be well) 18
Guthrie rolled 14
Guthrie’s eyes widen in surprise as his efforts to bend Cyro’s arm are stopped as though Cyro were a sculpture carved from stone. The gnome gets a mischievous glint in his eye and his mouth twists in a grin, and then he slams Guthrie’s arm down on the table!

Icehunter and Wolfrider converse with you in matter-of-fact tone of voice,
"We have heard of the path of rage, but we do not study it."
"I suppose your ruling is fair."
"There are explorers there who will hire us. It won't be an issue."
"The way of the world is that the strongest will endure. You have not yet perished. If you struggle you might yet live."
The goliath pair are ready to arm-wrestle whenever you are.
Cyro walks up to Wolfhunter and says “Good luck, fellow competitor“ before they commence. Athletics when they arm-wrestle: 16
This gnome is unstoppable!
Fro athletics: 17.
