Tandor nodded. "That's what I think, but I wasn't able to confirm it. Can anyone help?" The cleric holds up the jar of honey.

"Poisoned?!" he lowers his voice, a look of consternation on his face, "Do you think that there may have been foul play?"

 Tandor nods. "Yes. That's exactly what I think," he said, his voice tight, eyes narrowed.

"indeed. fermented honey may inebriate, but it won't kill. poisoned honey, on the other hand..."

"Oh, geeze. I'd better report it to the Verse, they'll want to do a full investigation, I reckon. Means Haro's lab'll be tied up for weeks if they consider it a crime scene. Torvalis isn't gonna be happy about that... Ah, is that the possibly poisoned honey? Let's find something to put that in...", he calls to one of the apprentices to bring a small wooden crate the right size to place the honey in, and sends another apprentice to ask a member of the Verse to stop by the guildhall.

((Mixtli would at least know that the Silent Verse is the name of the local constabulary.))

"They move at their own pace... You folks are from the Citadel? If you leave where they can look you up, they may send someone to ask questions, or summon you back here to answer them, more likely, but I doubt they'll be by today for you to stick around and give a statement."

" i believe we are, had business in the market a while back."

Mixtli will agree with going back. When they leave the construct follows as per earlier orders to stay with them.

Trencher stays quiet, and stifles a yawn, obviously not really caring much about the follow up they are talking about on the poisoning.  He just listens to what the others say and occasionally nods.

When they are all done he states gruffly, "We need to find somewhere that might want to buy some books."

((What exactly is the construct being instructed to do? Is Trencher discussing book sales in the guildhall, or after?))

The Construct has been instructed to stay with Mixtli and his companions.

"Errr... ummm...", the guildmaster says as you all turn to leave, with a looted library hidden away in sacks on your backs and the construct at your side. 

Tandor turns to Mixtli. "Weren't we supposed to retrieve that thing," he points at the construct, "for them?" This time he points at the guild master.

"yes, i believe so."

"Yeah, we don't want that thing tagging along.  Teach him how to make it do what he says, like you do."

((The contract was 150gp for disabling the construct to allow access to the lab, with a doubled bonus if it was merely deactivated without destroying it.))

ooc: Presumably the deactivating without destroying = they want it.

Mixtli didn't really think about it when leaving, but the contract did not specify to retrieve the construct for them. But Mixtli definitely thinks having a construct would be really useful back home.

Tandor nods. "Yes. I know the contract did not state specifically we were to retrieve the thing for them but what else could have been meant by getting extra money for not destroying it? It probably belongs them. I'd bet they paid a big chunk of the costs for creating the thing."
