Intiative: Ismark (14) Darya (10) Swarm (10, HP -16)
Ismark swings and misses, but Darya's spell of course hits several of their targets. Half of the twig blights are turned to splinters by the attack. The little buggers attempt to retaliate against her, though Ismark standing between Darya and the twigs is certainly not helping their aim. [Attack: 14, Damage: 13 to Darya.]

Darya raises her hand at the last moment and calls upon her last spell, a shimmering wall of magical energy forming in front of her as she casts Shield to deflect the attack at the last second.
(Well there goes her spells for the day. And oh God the damage from them.... She would of gone down with that and been almost totally dead....)
As the blights bounce off the magicak shield, Ismark tries to get it together as he once more attempts to hack at the blight with his blade.
Longsword: Attack: 7 Damage: 3
Seeing that she has no where to go, Darya draws a dagger from her side and attempts to stab at the blights, hoping to finish them off.
(I give up with the rolls for this, all of them have been total crap. Only way I could do anything is hope they could flank and maybe get advantage....)
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
[Oh god, your rolls, I forget, do you DM? Is this your DM's curse???]
The swarm swells up and violently attacks Darya! They scrape and claw despite her shield. They are not that bright...
"We can't get a cut on these cretins... I'm quite embarrassed, really..."Ismark attempts to quip, but its clear he is out of his depth. His jokes get worse when the danger is closer. To imagine these might be among the last words Darya might hear. [Attack: 15, Damage: 15 to Darya.]
"W, What's going on out here?" A young male voice asks from the direction of the village. You see young Istvan, one of the few preteens that lives in Barovia. He gasps when he sees you all fighting a bunch of twig monsters. "Oh no! I'll... I'll be right back!" He disappears. Has he gone to get help?

As Darya rolls her eyes at his joke, Ismark grits his teeth and attempts to once more swing at the blights, moving so that he is flanking them with Darya.
Attack: 18 Damage: 12
As they manage to miss her, Darya grits her teeth and bares her dagger once more. She quickly jabs at the things to attempt to do a least a little damage.
Attack: 24 Damage: 7
(Not recently. It has been at least two years or so since I made a try at dming.)
Darya, with her deadly dagger, darted forward, striking down the first of the creatures. Ismark quickly followed suit, wielding his sword with deadly precision. The two fought together, each covering the other's back as they whittled down the swarm's numbers. After a fierce battle, the last of the twig blights fell to the ground, defeated.
As Darya and Ismark were catching their breath, a preteen boy named Istvan arrived on the scene. Istvan rushed over to Darya and Ismark, his cooking pot helmet clanging as he moved. "Wow, that was amazing! I wish I had been here to help you fight those creatures," he exclaimed.
Ismark quipped, "Looks like you came to the potluck without bringing anything to the table!"

Darya wipes her brow before she looks over her dagger to check for any damage from the fight. Once satisfied she will place it back into the small scabbard at her hip before moving to grab Ismark by his shirt and attempt to drag him along. "Make your jokes later. We need to go check on Ireena to see if she was able make it back in time."
"Right, of course."Ismark deflates somewhat. "Let's get going."
"I'm going to tell the burgomaster about this attack." Istvan dismisses himself and runs off in the direction of the mansion.
Darya and Ismark arrived just in time to see Parry's body being sat up on the pew. The undertaker, a haggard man with sunken eyes, finishes up his alchemy, pouring some kind of powder into a bottle. The red liquid sloshes slightly inside the glass container as he pours it into Parry's slack mouth. Father Donavich stands over them, hands clasped together in prayer, his lips moving silently as if asking for divine intervention.
Ireena stands by, watching with bated breath as her friend is given this mysterious elixir. The potion works its way through Parry's veins, turning the color of his cheeks from gray to pink. His chest rises and falls in deep breaths, and everyone waits, hoping that Parry will open his eyes once more.
"Darya!"Ireena notices the two of them as they approach. "Thank the lord you are fine... Mostly."She eyes both Darya and Ismark for damage.

Darya nods to Ireena as she looks towards Parriwimple, dusting herself off from another stint into the wilderness. "Yes we are fine but things outside of the village seem to be even more dangerous with each passing hour. For now though all we can do is focus on things we can accomplish which at the moment is being here for our friend."
Some moments pass in silence, then you hear Doru's wretched cry from beneath the floorboards once again. A reminder of the other unpleasant things this world has to offer. A reminder of what almost happened to Darya herself.
"What the hell was that?" Ismark asks as he jolts completely into soberness.
"I believe it will take some time for this potion to take effect." The undertaker states as he moves to the door. "There isn't much more I can do here... and I rather not be reminded what lurks just beneath our soles." He leaves the room and his footsteps echo down the hall towards the front doors.
"What does he mean?" Ismark looks down at the floor.

Ismark does his best and pulls Parry over his back, holding the giant man... not quite with ease, but he is managing. He nods to Darya and Ireena, "Why don't the two of you go on ahead? I'll be home once I bring Parry back to his uncle's."
Darya arrives at the manor with Ireena and sees its current state. The outer walls are slashed to hell and it seems the burgomaster is currently boarding up some of the windows. As you come up near the burgomaster, you wonder what sort of man he was in his youth. Currently, the burgomaster is a meek-seeming man with a gaunt appearance. It looks like he hasn't slept for weeks despite the attacks on his home being fairly recent.
"Ah, my daughter, I see you brought a friend..." Burgomaster Kolyan Indirovich wipes the sweat from his face with a faded pink handkerchief. "Miss Darya, how are you? Are you... staying the night?"
(Feel free to consider how you might want to prepare for the attacks that are coming!)

"Yes Ismark has invited me both so that I can help with your nightly issues as well as for me to not be alone acter what happed to my father." Darya says as she moves to help with boarding off the windows in order to make the task quicker, doing her best to make things easier on the clearly exhausted Burgomaster. Once the windows are taken care of she will wait for Ismark to return in order to help with possibly furthering the barricading by blocking windows with heavy furniture.
In order to keep Ireena safe she will have her stay in a room that has no windows and can be well defended from the outside. She will make sure that the other woman has weapons close to defend herself as well.
For this, I will break narrative to show you the map of the mansion. All of the windows will be boarded, all doors barricaded. Windows are the lighter brown, doors are darker brown (matching the floor tile).
For this, assume that the second floor is not in play (for our sanity). Room 1 is the entrance, room 4 has stairs up and a bathroom (that has a window), and room 6 has stairs up with windows. The two biggest "problem" rooms are rooms 2 and 7, because they have big windows.
I'll let you apply adamantine strength (aka probably nothing will get through it) two rooms, and steel strength to 3 rooms (better odds of not breaking than wood).
We will go into initiative, but it will be monster assault turn, then your turn proper. Monsters will assault this mansion, and you will have 2 turns to reinforce an area with yourself or an NPC. Any monsters who break in will go last in the order of arrival. (Basically Turn 1 will always be monsters trying to break in and me telling you if any areas are getting weak, Turn 2 will be your response, Turn 3 will consist of any monsters attacking who got in.) Rounds might go by if the monsters are unable to get close enough to breaching.
Room 9 is where Ireena will be per your instructions, as it is the safest area in the whole house.
Knowing all that, feel free to do anything else to prep, otherwise, the night will really begin and so will the assault!

Alright I will make 2 and 7 the adamantine rooms since they have the biggest windows and will be a problem. Narrative wise they would probably realize this and take extra precautions to double down on barricading those rooms.
Steel size I will make those rooms 1,6 and 8.
If possible Darya will rummage through the house to find herbs and a bronze brazier to begin ritual casting Find Familiar in the form of a bat in order to have them outside to be alerted if and when something hostile approaches the manor.

100%. Consider yourself the owner of a fine bat. (Take a short rest BTW if you need it.)
Ireena stands armed and ready in the great hall of the manor (room 9). She looks tired and weary already. "They tend to attack for several minutes and back off, but come back later in the night to do the same.."
"Ireena, father, get some sleep," Ismark smiles, though clearly its a brave face for them. "Darya, you rest when you can too. If my gut is right, they'll attack at any moment."
Darya, you receive the psychic note from your summoned bat that a pack of wolves is en route to the manor. They travel with purpose and their eyes glow red. Soon, howling and scratching is heard from the windows in room 8. (Attack roll: 8 vs that area's AC)
