Lunalie is actually going to look for a guard or a sheriff. She would feel really bad if this random homeless guy died... even if he did attack her first!

You easliy find a female gnome guard, mid back fire red hair, athletic build, named Xyroniana, she is kind of just walking while swinging her mace around and singing, her voice is how you found her, it is very high pitched and loud at the same time.

How does this play out?

"Excuse me... excuse me!" Lunalie runs up to the gnome. "Miss? You are a guard, right? Some guy attacked me and I beat him up. It was totally self-defense! Anyway, uh, its really cold out and he's out cold. Could you... take him to jail or something?"

Make a deception roll. DC is 3 Xyroniana insight.

"I see, I will get him taken care of."  She leaves.

What do you want to do?  Again it is later in the evening, shops have now closed, Jhar does have a room.

Lunalie has no room or money, so... to Jhar it is!

She approaches him and says she will take him up on his offer. Of course, she tells him she will sleep on the floor. The cold doesn't bother her, so she really doesn't mind.

Jhar refuses the bed, making claim to being a gentailmen.

Go a head and make another Persuasion check for me.

"Oh, I must insist, Jhar! You are the one doing me a favor by letting me sleep out of the cold."

While getting ready for bed Jhar takes off his coat and a long sleeve shirt, you notice scars on his body, he snores on and off during the night.

Mid day you manage to get to Blackiron Blades, which is a Smithy and outfitter shop.  While  Garn the Hammer (a Shield Dwarf) is busy working you meet his sister Elza, after a but of talking with her you pull out a ration for a snack, and she sees the rest of them.  "Ill tell you what, I had a troop come through and buy out most of my rations, you give me.... 3 of yours and I'll give you what info I have."

"I think that sounds like a fair deal!" Lunalie nods eagerly. She hands the 3 rations over. "Thank you so much... I really don't have any money." Lunalie makes a mental note to find some sort of quick job to make some gold with. Maybe someone's cellar needs a rat extermination?

Elza says that at this point you would be best to catch them in Temalaine.

When you are leaving you see 3hree stocky figures bundled in cold weather garb stumble toward you. They have snowshoes slung over their backs and ice picks fastened to their belts, and two of them have thick beards. The third holds up a gloved hand and says, through a thick wool scarf in a raspy voice, “Well met! I’m Hruna, and these are my friends, Korux and Storn. We need help, and you look capable.”

“We’re the survivors of a group of dwarves tasked with delivering a sled of iron ingots to Bryn Shander. A yeti surprised us and killed a member of our group. The rest of us fled as the yeti tore Oobok limb from limb. Now we need someone to go back and get the sled for us.  We have outposts in almost every of the 10 towns. As payment, we offer each of you a gemstone worth fifty gold pieces. The friendship of the dwarves of Icewind Dale can also be a boon in these harsh times. You’ll need these snowshoes to make the trip in good time.”

Lunalie listens and her face gets pretty stern. "You say a yeti killed one of you? I'm so sorry..." Lunalie expresses her condolences, while searching her memory. Did she know anything about Yetis aside from them being sort of big and dangerous? (Intelligence Check: 14, my mod for all knowledge checks is 0, except Religion, which is a +2. I doubt religion will count towards this though lol)

When they finish their request, Lunalie looks at Jhar, eager. "Jhar, I know we are on the hunt for something else, but... I don't think we can leave these poor people high and dry. I think we should help them out!"

One note on Jhar that I can not remember if I put out there is that he is almost always smoking a cigar.  

After freshly lighting his cigar he pulls out a small map of Ten Towns "Where at did you all lose this at?"

The one pointed out as Storn looks to the sky and then back at the map, pulls off his glove and points to an area to the west of a mount clearing, east of Temalaine.

"Won't add much time or cut any time off the trip to Temalaine, and 50 gold sounds like 50 gold."

"Oh, I wasn't even thinking about that... but you are right. Okay, let's do it!" Lunalie marches forward to the destination!

Jhar leads the way once in the woods.  "I once lived in the wild, I am good and finding and keeping my way."

You are about 2 hours into your walk when you feel a warm wind on your neck, then before you can even react it is on you.  Attack: 11 Damage: 6

A large white jungle cat tried to pounce on you but the little warning of their breath gave them away.  You may use your turn and direct Jhar as well.  I added him as a monster in Lunalie's CS.

[Hehe, it just barely missed me!]

"Ah!" Lunalie screams, frightened by the sudden attack. She stares down the big cat, a bit furious. "Bad kitty! Bad!" She looks to Jhar, "Hey Jhar, what is this thing? Just a big cat...?"

[Both of them will try to think about what it is if that's okay! Lunalie's Intelligence Check: 1, Jhar's 4.]

Regardless of what she knows, she will draw a sigil in the air and incants: "Maior et Fortior!" [Casting Blade Ward!]

Lunalie will then run away, risking the Attack of Opportunity from the cat as Jhar runs in, raging, and attacks with his axe and hammer!

"They are hunters of man! A dangours foe, protect youself!"

Both attacks hit the cat, and it then swings their paw at Jhar.

(I only take half damage cause of Blade Ward, thankfully! Blade Ward stays up until the end of my turn teehee. Jhar's damage gets reduced to 4 cause he's raging -- I've updated his statblock)

At this distance, Lunalie casts Frostbite (save DC is 14), incanting the spell by waving her hand over her crystal and throwing a hand out to the cat, "Glacies!"

Jhar will strike again!
