Gloix fares much better when the obstacles he's dodging aren't also firing bolts of lightning at the ship. With the aid of the crew deflecting the smaller rocks, he is easily able to negotiate a passage through to the center of the field.
Unfortunately, the abandoned ship has not fared so well: repeated impacts with the asteroids have torn her apart. Debris is strewn along the ship's gravity plane, with only a few larger sections of the hull still intact; the whole wreck is surrounded by a cloud of silvery dust particles that reduce visibility. You pull your ship alongside the wreckage, and begin trying to spot the logbook you're looking for among the debris.
[It will take a DC16 Wisdom (Perception) check to spot the logbook]
Xavier quickly spots the logbook. Unfortunately, it lays amid debris from the captain’s cabin, all of which bobs in the derelict's gravity plane. With no solid ground to stand on, retrieving it might prove challenging.
[Time to put your imagination and ingenuity to work; how are you going to attempt to extract the logbook from the debris?]
This post has potentially manipulated dice roll results.
As the others prepare for what is sure to become the first annual Dwarf Tossing Event, Roy keeps an eye out for the other ship and anything else that might interfere with their mission.
[I love a LotR reference as much as the next person that has paid money for a theatrical marathon of all three extended director's cuts, but I'm going to stick with 'throwing', since that line has some unfortunate ableist history]
[Xavier, make a Strength (Athletics) check to throw Erma far enough, and Erma, make a Dexterity (Acrobatics) check to grab the logbook as you fly by]
Meanwhile, Roy stands lookout. For a moment he thinks he sees movement off the stern out of the corner of his eye, but looking again he sees nothing; it must just have been a shadow cast by a passing asteroid?
I feel like these roles should be switched. You are probably stronger than I am, and I a DEFINITELY more acrobatic than you are. But what the heck.
Xavier looks at Erma quizzically. Throw her? What kind of plan is that? But, it might be there only real shot of getting the book, so what the heck. He more than a little awkwardly picks up Erma, and judt throws her towards the logbook.

(Context here (a respected race in the game) has nothing to do with how the term has been used to denote a difference IRL but I get where you are coming from.)
Roy walks over to the aft to the stern, thinking it’s better to be safe than sorry about the possible movement he might have seen.
[Good news, I only needed one of you to succeed, mechanically. Narratively, uh...]
Xavier doesn't manage to throw Erma, so much as drop her off the side of the ship. She's able to push off from the hull, though, and slowly, very slowly, inch by inch, drifts toward her target. Once she reaches it, she's easily able to grab it and reel herself back in.
Roy looks over the back of the ship, but doesn't see anything amiss.
So, logbook in hand, it's time to make your way back out of the asteroid field.
Zaius hangs upside down from the rigging, grasping the rope with his feet. Barely able to watch the attempt to throw Erma, he covers his eyes with both hands, while peeking through them to see at the same time. As the logbook is secured and Erma returns to the ship, he lets out a shout of glee and drops to the deck.
“Come on you layabouts, stop enjoying the show, we got work to do. We have to get this back to base, To your stations, prepare to get underway.” Zaius moves to set the rigging, keeping an eye on the crew. Acrobatics: 18.

Xavier deftly puts his staff back on his back and then leaps over the ship onto the wreckage. He calls back to the group
"Well that certainly was fun! Now. let's see about that logbook." He begins hurriedly looking for the logbook, humming a tune.

HAIL YEAH
Xavier quickly spots the logbook. Unfortunately, it lays amid debris from the captain’s cabin, all of which bobs in the derelict's gravity plane. With no solid ground to stand on, retrieving it might prove challenging.

Erma runs up to Xavier and spots what he's looking at.
She looks up and nudges at his side, then leans her warhammer down.
"You know what you have to do..."
She unties 50 feet of silk rope from the inside of her shield, ties it around her waist and the other end around the closest part of the ship.
Erma sighs deeply, grabs hold of her shield with both hands and tells Xavier, "TOSS ME!"
(and how lucky that Xavier is suitably elf :) )
Rel will retrieve his pan flute and play an encouraging melody for Xavier (Inspiration die) to make his dwarf-tossing attempt.
Your honor, what does suitably elf mean?
(Exactly! We don't have the exact situation, but close enough)
Gloix focuses on keeping the ship steady alongside the debris while the others work on their tossing technique.

Erma will cast guidance and then contemplate for a moment.. then choose herself as the target.
