The Spiral of Worlds - The fantasy galaxy our campaign takes place in. The Republic - The largest union of worlds spread across the Spiral. Founded several thousand years ago, steadily growing as more and more worlds have been discovered and invited into the fold. Outer Alliance - A new alliance of worlds mostly consisting of those along the outer rim, with some territorial expansions into the mid rim. Lead by Duke Sid Lucendus. Leria - Homeworld of Duke Sid Lucendus, and capital of the Outer Alliance. Rion- Capital of the Republic.
The Spiral of Worlds enters its second year of Sid's Rebellion, a military conflict that has spanned across multiple worlds and claimed hundreds of thousands of lives. For decades Duke Sid Lucendus has fomented political turmoil in the Republic, driving a wedge between the Core worlds and those of the Outer Rim. Preceding the outbreak of the war, thousands of worlds had seceded from the Republic, forming a new confederacy known as the Outer Alliance. While the Republic'sleadership was willing to let those who chose to simply leave, the trouble did not end there. Territorial disputes on colonized worlds raised tensions to a new high, putting the Spiral on the brink.
The tipping point occurred when Duke Sid Lucendus'own homeworld of Leriajoined the Outer Alliance, simultaneously attacking and capturing the Republic world of Trimeme. The Republic's senate called for an army, quickly repurposing spelljammers into vehicles of war. Unprepared for the battles to come, the past year has been loss after loss for the Republic, as more and more worlds fell to the forces of the Outer Alliance.
New leadership has been put in command of the Republic's military forces. As the conflict enters its second year, a daring assault on a key Outer Allianceworld is planned, its success hinging on the efforts of a small band of heroes...
Greetings again forum denizens! I'm here to run another homebrew adventure! First of all, this one will run slower than the others, as this will be the third campaign I get up and running. You can expect me to post at least once a day on this one, but beyond that I'll be prioritizing the other two campaigns. This will also be more "episodic," in that your characters will be part of a team that carries out special missions for the Republic. In between those missions we'll have downtime and montage transitions.
Before you apply to the campaign, here are some things to keep in mind:
I like to run campaigns that lean into the roleplaying aspect. You'll be expected to interact with the other player characters regularly. Friendships? Rivalries? Romances? Have at it, just don't leave me separately interacting with 5 players all the time, I hate it!
That being said, you don't need to be a Best Seller's level writer to join this campaign. So long as you make an effort to roleplay, I'm happy! (=
This campaign will be more combat heavy and dungeon-crawlereqsue. Bring me your busted ass fully optimized warlock\sorcerer\paladin or gloomstalker\assassin multiclass.
The length of this campaign is unknown at this point.
This is not a fleshed out setting. We'll be building it as we go.
The campaign will be played here on the forums.
Here is a list of sourcebooks that can be used for character creation: - Player's Handbook - Sword Coast Adventurer's Guide - Xanathar's Guide to Everything - Tasha's Cauldron of Everything - Fizban's Treasury of Dragons - Spelljammer: Adventures in Space - Eberron: Rising from the Last War - Explorer's Guide to Wildemount & Taldorei Setting Book - Guildmasters Guide to Ravnica
- From Monsters of the Multiverse: Aasimar, Changeling, Eladrin, Genasi, Goliath, and Shifter.
The details I need from you are listed below: - Character Name | - Race | - Class | - Background | - Backstory |
Ability Scores: Roll 'em up, roll 'em up! Re-roll 1's. Take Standard Array or Point Buy if you hate what you get!

Hey, mate.
I've been RPing for 3 years, but this is the first time I've ever done this on the DnDBeyond website. I'm not new to D&D, but I'll admit, I have no clue what's going on.
Do we make characters on this website or is it okay if I use something like Dicecloud or Google Docs instead?
How are we going to communicate OOC? And this is how I roll my stats, right?
I'm sorry in advance, all of these things are alien to me, I apologise.

It's preferred if you make characters on DnDBeyond because it's easier for me to track, but something like Dicecloud or Google Docs works if you really want. OoC is communicated mostly in a group private message between me and all the chosen players. And yep, that's how you roll!
Now all you really do is build your character idea and wait. DMs usually let these recruitment threads sit for a few days before picking players.
Character Name | SalvorKimer Race | Human (V) Class | Bladesinger Background | Knight Backstory | Salvor joined the Order of ( ) at a very young age, as his mother had before him. Headquartered on Rion, its knights were sent to the outer worlds of the Spiral on a regular basis, to sort out trouble where the Republic's official peacekeepers could not. The Order was reluctant to join the war effort at first, a sentiment that Salvor personally shared. Things changed when the casualty reports began to roll in, particularly when civilians were listed among the dead. Halfway into the first year of the war, all knights of ( ) were recalled back to Rion to hold a council on the matter. At this point, few could deny that the war needed to be brought to a swift end. And so it was that the Order of ( ) officially joined the war on the Republic's behalf, attaching its knights to their military units where needed.
Really love your campaign pitches! Hopefully some day we'll have that perfect storm where you're recruiting for a low-level campaign when I have time, a decent character idea, and not a lot of competition for a spot in the party.

Backstory
"All-righty, adventuring time! Let's go!"
Kira is full of contradictions. She can act a bit naive and clueless, but when she finds something that's in her field of interest, she could go on a ramble for hours about how much she likes those things. She's aloof and happy all the time, maybe a bit too enthusiastic that some might even consider her insane. She sometimes openly express her thought, and by that, she's actually saying what she has in her mind out loud, even in the middle of a fight. Maybe she is insane, after all, because that's how being a genius works.
"Hey! I'm perfectly fine! Well... for now, I just hope I don't run into a tentacle monster that wants to put a tadpole in my eye."
Even her abilities are a contradiction, one would expect a nerdy figure like her to be a Wizard, but she's actually a Sorcerer. A divine one at that, she wasn't sure how she got this power in the first place, but now she can heal people like a Cleric and blow up people like an actual Sorcerer.
"Heck yeah! Fireball is like Inflict Wounds, but it gives my target third-degree burns instead of... uhh, to be honest, I have no clue what kind of wounds Inflict Wounds inflicts."
She's very social, and that's a good thing because she treasure her friends more than anything else in the universe. She will go to great lengths in order to protect them, and she believes in the power of friendship... unironically.
"Come on! Friendship is actually magic, you probably don't believe in it because you have no friends. Ah, shoot, that came out a bit rude. Well, if you have no friends, I'll be one for you, do you—"
Not now, Kira, time to explain your backstory.
"But... Can I save it when I'm about to die against an enemy?"
Do it.
"Fine, fine, here I go...
My parents are adventurers like me! Mum was a Sorcerer just like me, I'm not sure what my Dad was, he just stab people with sword and use large shield. They took me on an adventurer since I was an egg, and they still did it after I was born. It's really, really cool! I sit back and watch them fight, and I got a lot of experience from them.
Things changed when I was a teen, though. They finally settled down and sent me to school, they wanted me to work in a church, and... seriously? It's so boring! I did get good grades and I managed to bargain with my parents, they'll let me go on an adventure of my own, but once I'm done, that's it, no more, I'll have to return back and live a normal life. It sucks... but it's better than nothing! And here I am today, preparing for my first and last adventure of my life."
"The universe we observe has precisely the properties we should expect if there is, at bottom, no design, no purpose, no evil, no good, nothing but blind, pitiless indifference."
If that's the case, I'll be using Dicecloud, then. Hope you get more interested members soon, I'm very excited for my first forum-based D&D game here.

The child of two humans residing in a small town, Ray was considered cursed from birth. Many of the villagers believe the curse to be the result of actions from his mother. Perhaps she broke her oath as a paladin in order to be with his father, if this is true Alastor will never know. Either way, his birth caused many of the superstitious villagers to avoid his family. At first, he didn’t care, but as time went on he started becoming bitter.
Though his parents did their best to care for him, young Ray had trouble making friends due to his appearance, and the fact that he seemed to talk to himself at times. For as long as he can remember, another…entity…seems to be living behind his mind. A voice seeming to offer advice, ways to find power, or to deal with those who dislike him.
Despite the fact that he was disliked for the most part, the young tiefling has always had a good heart…even if he’s not great at showing it. Over the years, the seclusion started getting to him. He slacked off in school, and couldn’t hold down a job. Even though his mother tried to train him as a paladin, he never really took it seriously. What was the point? No one would trust him to protect them anyways. Despite this ideal, Raylan did his best to stay positive. Even if it was just an act. Best not to let anyone get to him.
One day, his little village was attacked by a red dragon….and no one stood up against it. No one but his mother. While the retired paladin did her best to fend of the beast, her husband tried to aid in an evacuation.
While all of this happened, Raylan was in the woods trying to catch something for dinner. Seeing the smoke, he rushed home as fast as he could only to find the town in ruins, his father burned to ash, and his mother on the brink of death. She smiled at him, and he held her hand as she passed on. At that moment, he vowed to become a paladin. As a paladin he could protect people…all people no matter who they were. He would prove that he is capable of doing good in this world, and prevent as many people from suffering in this way as he possibly could.
From then on, he does his best to block out the fiends words and not rely on the power it granted him. Though occasionally, if he gets angry or scared enough he tends to fall back on it.

this sounds super cool, and ofc given that i have no idea if ill be able to access mounts or even use one im making a character SOLELY dependent on mounted combat lol, do we get extra gear because of the high starting level? (no character sheet yet, will write it out if i am chosen)
- Character Name | Cutlass de la Clang. 11th of the order of the steel berserkers
- Race | warforged
- Class | cavalier fighter - mounted combatant - heavy armour master
- Background | noble (knight variant) (followers are: Bleth Hellstrike ,would be paladin and my squire, noble stats. Woodrow, old family friend and my groom, commoner stats. Ka Nikersk, up and coming bard hoping i do something worthy of a ballad, doomed to be disapointed, commoner stats)
- Backstory | cutlass was found, raised, and trained by the Order of the steel berserkers, a knight order based in a small, otherwise insignificant duchy, in a small, nearly insignificant kingdom, on a small and utterly insignificant planet. offworld it would be rare for someone to recognize the order, hells, most people on planu didnt even truly know there was an offworld. but the name was known accross the continent, taking inspiration from traditional berserkers in determination but not strategy the Order clad themselves and often their mounts in the heaviest armour available, then ride down their foes in thundering charges that struck fear into the hearts of those who witnessed it. though this may seem vastly different froma normal berserker who fight unarmored, driven by bloodlust and madness, they took the name from their dedication, rage, and refusal to back down from a fight, many a steel berserker has been dehorsed, their lance splintered, their sword shattered, their shield crushed, and fought on with their gauntlets and what weapons they can prise from the dead hands of their foes, fighting until they, or their foes have died. they share a love of desperate last stands as well as simplistic crushing of resistance under lances and iron-shod hooves. cutlass never truly fit in but he felt at home with them and learned with them. he found his metal body gave him an advantage against those with more... fleshy appendages within their armour, and this combined with a fiery drive to succeed propelled him up the ranks until he stood proudly as the eleventh strongest member of the order. when the ships came from the stars they brought with them many things that confused and interested cutlass, and when they requested troops many of the order offered their service. when he was mocked for bringing a horse on a starship he challenged the mocker to a duel, and thrice left him bleeding as the fools firebolts and knives alike slid off of the warforged's armour. throughout a year and a half of new training cutlass continued to cause problems, not understanding why you would wish to be infantry and challenging a further three people to duels, two of which he lost. when they finally settled on placing him in a special task force he requested help from home and got it. in the form of two old friend and a young noble who wished to fight among the stars, but dreamed of the clash of steel and the indomitable power to ride through all opposition, finding that cutlass was of the same mind Bleth the third son of the notable Hellstrike family requested to be squired to cutlass and cutlass enthusiastically agreed. now when not on a mission cutlass can be found chatting with ka or training Bleth in the sword, though bleth Does insist on using a thin blade unlike those of the order and is far more adept at speaking to the heart and guiding a conversation than reaching the heart with a lance and guiding a warhorse. unfortunately in a recent deployment cutlass was forced to leave his horse and armour behind and though he found a set of lesser armour he is looking for a new mount. he likes the look of elephants, the sheer trampling power...

This Mug immediately shared with me a transcendental tale of an Infinite Mug that anchors the Universe and keeps it from folding in on itself. I filed this report under "illogical nonsense" and asked why its sign is in Times New Roman font, when it is basic knowledge that Arial Black is a far superior font. I wondered: How did this mug even get past the assembly line with its theistic beliefs and poor font choices?
